I've been a reluctant customer of…
I've been a reluctant customer of Dialog Axiata for years, and I can confidently say they are hands-down the worst internet service provider in Sri Lanka. They charge premium prices for what feels like dial-up era service – taking your hard-earned money every month while handing out tiny, heavily limited data quotas that vanish faster than you can blink.
Their "anytime data" packages are a complete joke: you pay thousands of rupees for plans that promise decent GBs, but in reality, you're throttled to crawling speeds after hitting some hidden "fair usage" limit, or the data mysteriously disappears even when you're not using it (I've seen complaints of data draining with the router turned off!). Unlimited plans? Don't be fooled – they're speed-capped at pathetic levels like 2-4 Mbps, making streaming, downloading, or even basic browsing a nightmare. Forget gaming or working from home reliably.
Customer service is non-existent: complaints get ignored or closed without resolution, signals drop constantly (especially in rural or even urban areas), and speeds are inconsistent – one day okay, next day unusable. Many people on forums like Reddit and Trustpilot call it a scam, with data usage inflating suspiciously and poor network coverage despite their "No.1" claims.
Dialog prioritizes profits over people, offering stingy capped data in a world where unlimited is standard elsewhere. Switch to SLT Fiber if you can – anything is better than this greedy, unreliable mess. Save your money and sanity: stay far away from Dialog! Worst ISP ever.
Disgusting.

Very poor network coverage combined…
Very poor network coverage combined with slow internet speeds and high pricing. Even a short power outage results in complete service disruption, with no backup support in place. There appears to be limited investment in infrastructure improvements, while significant resources are spent on advertising campaigns (tik tok influencers) rather than service quality.
The available packages do not offer good value and seem primarily targeted at low-budget, short-term users rather than long-term customers. I continue using Dialog only because of my long-held number. If number portability were available, many loyal and genuine customers would likely switch to other providers.
Poor customer care service
They have recently replaced laid off their human customer care officers with an AI tool which can only attend generic queries. It fails miserably when a customer has a specific requirement. It is nearly impossible to reach out to a human customer care officers and I have terrible experiences when working with them. Would never want to continue any businesses with Dialog at all cost. Advice to Dialog: Before boasting about being the first to acquire 5g frequency doesn’t mean silch while you are failing to cover the island with 4G.

I would not even give these utter scammers even one star. drains data without even a single usage and the customer support is useless. one of the worst companies in sri lanka
Worst telecomnication service ever
Worst telecomnication service ever. Never recommended any people to use this service.
I’ve been a Dialog Axiata customer for…
I’ve been a Dialog Axiata customer for years, and let me tell you, this is hands down the worst telecom company in Sri Lanka – probably in all of South Asia. Their so-called "coverage" is a joke. Forget about reliable signal in rural areas or even suburbs; it's spotty at best, with constant dropouts and weak 4G that feels like dial-up from the 90s. During the recent Cyclone Ditwah floods in late November and early December 2025, when Sri Lanka was hit with massive rains, landslides, and flooding that killed hundreds and displaced millions, Dialog's network completely failed. People couldn't make emergency calls, coordinate rescues, or even check on loved ones because the signal vanished. Over 2,200 sites were down out of 6,000, and restoration took forever while competitors like Mobitel and Hutch stayed up. Lives were lost in the chaos, yet Dialog takes zero responsibility – no apologies, no compensation, just excuses about "site flooding and power failures."They raked in massive profits – 26.7% growth in Q3 2025 alone, with revenues hitting billions – but couldn't invest in resilient infrastructure to save lives? Pure greed.
And don't get me started on how they rob people's money. Their plans are overpriced rip-offs, charging premium rates for subpar service. The app is glitchy, customer support is nonexistent – call 1777 and you're on hold forever or get no response at all. They disconnect your line way before your credit limit, forcing you to top up unnecessarily. It's straight-up theft. Compared to other Southeast Asian countries like India, where companies like Airtel or Jio offer dirt-cheap data, widespread coverage, and actual innovations, Dialog is a dinosaur. In India, you get gigabytes for pennies with minimal outages, but here in Sri Lanka, Dialog squeezes every rupee without delivering.
Their "unlimited" data? What a lie! It's "unlimited" in name only – after a few GBs at full speed, they throttle you to crawling speeds that make browsing impossible. It's just marketing BS to lure you in, then bam, you're paying extra for boosters. No transparency, no fairness. Meanwhile, they're posting strong quarterly earnings, with revenues up 4% YoY to Rs 43.3Bn in Q1 2025, all on the backs of frustrated customers with zero concern for us.
Look at Australia – their government has sued telcos left and right for shady practices. Optus got slapped with a $100 million fine for unconscionable conduct, Telstra paid $18 million for misleading speed claims, and even Google was fined $55 million for anti-competitive deals with Aussie telcos.Sri Lanka needs the same – lawsuits against Dialog for endangering lives during disasters and robbing us blind. Switch to anyone else; this company doesn't deserve your money. Absolute worst!
Dialog Axiata – “The Future Today”… really?
Data packages full of restrictions, 360p video limits, speed throttling under FUP, and slow internet even in urban areas. Signals drop during natural disasters, yet prices keep rising. With market consolidation, competition feels weaker and profits seem to come first. The branding promises the future — but customers are still waiting to experience it.

Sri Lankans, be aware of a Serious Consumer Issue: Unethical Behavior by Dialog Axiata Sri Lanka
I’m a long-term customer of Dialog Axiata PLC (Sri Lanka), and I’m sharing my experience to raise awareness about what appears to be fraudulent billing, service manipulation, and retaliatory behavior by the company.
A few weeks ago, I filed a formal complaint regarding false charges and unfair disconnection practices. Specifically, Dialog added a fake outstanding balance of LKR 5,335 to my Fun Blaster Postpaid Package (LKR 2,667), disconnected my line without reason, and forced me to pay the inflated amount.
When I questioned this, customer service representatives even admitted to a possible “system error” and told me to increase my credit limit, which clearly felt like manipulation rather than support.
Why It’s Concerning?
Instead of investigating my complaint transparently, I was suddenly contacted and told I supposedly owe LKR 3,800 for a prepaid SIM that was last used in 2021 — nearly four years ago.
This “old debt” claim only appeared after I reported their fraudulent billing, which seems like a retaliatory tactic meant to distract from the original issue.
If this were truly a valid debt, Dialog had three years to notify me or pursue recovery. They never did. So, why now — right after I filed a complaint?
What is so Funny
Why was no recovery action taken for over three years if this was a valid charge?
Why did this “debt” appear only after I reported fraud?
Is this how Dialog Axiata upholds customer trust and corporate accountability?
What I’m Asking For
As part of the Axiata Group Berhad, Dialog should be held to international standards of ethics and transparency. I’m urging the parent company and relevant authorities to Investigate this retaliatory and unethical conduct by Dialog staff.
Verify the legitimacy of the alleged 2021 prepaid claim and disclose all related records.
Ensure that my original fraud complaint is properly investigated by an independent authority.
Take disciplinary action against any employees involved in misconduct or retaliation.
This entire experience has been disappointing and disturbing. Instead of addressing legitimate customer concerns, Dialog seems to be using intimidation and false claims to deflect responsibility.
I’m posting this to raise awareness and to ask if other customers have faced similar treatment from Dialog Axiata. Consumers deserve transparency, fairness, and accountability — not manipulation and retaliation.
Very worst service ever they have think…
Very worst service ever they have think they only exist in Sri Lanka they have disconnect channels and add tv channels as there wish and we r paying for that when matches telecast they have disconnect local channel also

Dialog Not Ready for Advanced Security Features on New Phones
I recently activated Advanced Protection on my Google Pixel 9 Pro, which automatically disables 2G connections for better privacy and security. After that, I noticed I could no longer make or receive regular phone calls , only data and SMS worked.
When I contacted Dialog support, I was told this happens because their network still depends on 2G for voice fallback and the only solution was to turn off Advanced Protection. This means customers who care about mobile security and use modern devices lose basic calling functions.
In 2025, a leading telecom provider like Dialog should be offering fully functional VoLTE and VoWiFi services across all areas, without relying on outdated 2G networks. Please improve your network infrastructure and compatibility with modern devices, so customers can enjoy both security and reliable voice services.

Worse Telecom company
I went to the Kadawatha branch of Dialoge Telecom, asked to put a new date sim to my router, but they refused, asking me for my household bills, which I don't have because I am here on holiday.
Staff there are very, very unhelpful and arrogant, and I don't have words to describe them, and worst ever Telecom company in sriLanka. Keep away from this company; they behave like fly-by-night cowboys. I never ever buy anything from Dialog, and I don't recommend Dialog to anyone, and I have got a router with a data SIM card from MOBITEL without any household bills. Keep away from dialog
