One star is generous
One star is generous. I ordered a set of 6x Stanley Rogers knives, on opening the package I find a knife missing from the box. I contacted DJ's via every customer service option provided, I have followed up three times in a week and have still not heard a word from them. There is no service, certainly no care for any attention to detail when dispatching orders. I'm sure when I do finally hear from someone I will be told I need to pay to return the product in order to get sent what I actually paid for, which won't be happening. An absolute disgrace and shows how little regard they now hold for their customers. Beyond disappointing to see a once thriving Australian retail store disintegrate to this level.
Not worth your time
Not worth your time. First time ordering - they sent me mens trainers instead of my dress, I had to pay nearly $20 to return it, customer service is a frustrating loop, they are 0 help, not sure i'll be refunded. Don't waste your time. Will not be shopping here again. Please look after your customers better.
David Jones, get back to good customer service
I can not believe the lack of customer service in the lingerie department in the Perth City store, l was the only customer at the time and to say the customer service was nonexistent is an understatement, after finding the bra l was looking for myself, l approached the sales assistant for help to find another bra in any other brand that may suit me, her answer behind the counter without even looking up was, sorry there is nothing else, seriously l was floored, I then went and got another bra myself and then asked the new assistant for help with sizes, only to be told by the new assistant that she couldn’t help me as she was just filling in for the last assistants I just saw, while she was having her lunch break.
David Jones pull up your socks or you will no longer have a business with this very poor service you provide.
Congrats Vicki on your 5star review…
Congrats Vicki on your 5star review (shoe dept @ Chadstone), an outstanding customer service experience - TVM, much appreciated

Very poor customer service
Very poor customer service. I purchased a perfume gift set. The item was in stock and I paid for wrapping and express postage. A week later they emailed me to say the item was no longer in stock and cancelled my order. Perhaps if it didn’t take you so long to despatch orders, items would still be in stock! This is the second time this year I have purchased gifts from David Jones to have them cancelled because items are no longer in stock. Their online “chat” is useless and I am still waiting for a call from their phone call back “service”. This is unacceptable from a Department store. Get better!
Went to David Jones
Went to David Jones, a place I have visited only a handful of times..I wanted loose cutlery for my daughter..None in stock..Got a couple of spoons, and service Took forever..And No discount on loose stock..The staff tried to be nice but I felt their contempt and they just wanted to get rid of me..Hated the experience..
Avoid David Jones Online
Whilst I like DJs the store, online is just awful. They use the worst, most unreliable couriers and it harms their reputation. Why?David Jones.
Very Poor customer care service
Very Poor customer care service. I purchased Dyson Air wrap from David jones and it came as a faulty product. I returned to Southland store and asked for replacement or refund. They refused to do that and said we will send back to Dyson. Now it has been 4 weeks and there is no response from customer service. I am emailing them every single day but no reply. I paid for item which I don’t have . I call customer care they do not pickup call at all . So basically no response at all. Seriously I am done and very upset all over this situation. I don’t know where to ask for help . This is my last purchase from David Jones and the amount of harassment I am having, it was not worth it at all . I was excited to buy something now literally I am crying over why did I purchase anything from them . Not trustworthy customer service.
Purchased ladies pj's online
Purchased ladies pj's online. Brand Papinelle!! Price $99.95. Item delivered, when removing the labels noticed sticker over original price. Pj's NZD price $99.99, AUD$89.95. I have been diddled by $10., absolutely discussed with these companies ripping us off wherever possible. Last time I'll ever purchase anything online with David Jones. Not happy?!?!?!!!!!!
Falsely advertised product for black saturday
Dear David Jones Customer Service,
I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment regarding the misleading advertisement of the 240cm Callaway Dew Drop Tipped Christmas Tree, which was actively promoted during your Black Saturday sale. The product was advertised as available for click and collect, yet it was only available in Canberra, while I am located in Melbourne.
Upon contacting three different stores, I was informed that the tree was not available in Victoria, despite being displayed and promoted in-store. The Doncaster store was particularly unhelpful and rude, and the Malvern store insisted that I travel an hour and a half from Greensborough to purchase the display tree, only to return another day to collect it after dismantling. They refused to accept payment over the phone, making the process unnecessarily difficult. The staff at Highpoint attempted to assist but encountered similar obstacles, and even they found the situation absurd.
This experience has been incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. I have been on hold with your helpline for over 2,000 minutes, despite being advised of a 3-minute wait time. This is unacceptable and reflects poorly on your customer service.
I am requesting that the tree be delivered to me as per your website's policy, which states that click and collect orders over $100 qualify for free delivery. I believe this is a reasonable resolution given the circumstances and the inconvenience I have faced.
So disappointed
So disappointed, ordered no 125001106.
Ordered Hugo Boss Bottled Triumph Elixir 100ml online, it claimed to come with a bonus gift of HuGo Boss Bag. I received only the perfume and no bag, On calling customer service, they couldn’t find any promo for the bonus bag Offer on website and didn’t want to honour it. So disappointed and frustrated.
Bondi store
Bondi store - Sylvie from section selling Dyson hair-dryers repeatedly refused to allow a refund on a defective Supersonic bought only a week after purchase. Sent me to Dyson service centre instead. She promised to phone me to know the outcome of the service centre experience. No attempt to call me! Liars in customer service DISGUST me. I'm a 4th generation DJs customer who no longer wants to shop with them.
A comedy of errors
Today's shopping experience at David Jones Bondi Junction was a reminder of why I prefer to shop online and why Australian department stores are failing. The task was simple. I knew the product I wanted. The DJs website said it was in stock in this store so I drove there. What should have been a 10-minute exercise turned into 30 minutes. The product wasn't merchandised on the shop floor. Two salespeople tried to help me but they worked for other brands and they didn't know how to use the store point of sale computer to look up stock. Despite the website saying stock was available in this store and a number of others, the salesperson said without any hesitation that all stock was on the floor and the item was not in stock and I should go to the city store (even though the website said it was not in stock there). I spoke to a manager, and gave them the specific product code from the website. Turns out there is a storage area. The manager went away with a printout of the stock code and returned after some time with the wrong item. I showed him a picture of the item so he could go by sight instead of using a stock code. Eventually, I got the product I came for and then it took another 10 minutes to process the sale as one staff member was tending to the small queue while the other staff folded clothes ignoring the waiting customers.
Very low standards of customer service
Very low standards of customer service. Most of the time it is difficult to find an assistance on the floor. Either sales assistants are invisible, or they are busily chatting between themselves ignoring customers, pretending that they do not see you. Often, It is difficult to find any assistance even at the register, so you have to wait just standing there waiting to pay for an item, until someone notices you...Unfortunately this is the problem not only at one particular store, but across many DJ stores in Sydney.. I have been a loyal customer of DJ for over 20 years, but I don't think I will keep my loyalty for much longer. DJ is just going worse by day (I don't mean DJ's products offerings - products are good -, I mean their customer service and the type/ calibre of people they employ as sales assistants). Very poor for such as 'iconic' brand :(
No customer contact satisfaction
Waited half an hour to have a simple question answered on the phone and then about 15 minutes on chat which didn't answer my question.
They know there is a problem but do…
They know there is a problem but do nothing about it after waiting nearly 2 hours and speaking to 3 people, I was told by all of them that they know the App that I was told to download when I received my card, is not working for most of the DJ transition card holders. You are unable to put in a new PIN on the App. Are they doing anything about that? are they emailing you to tell you that there is a problem, NO. Are they automatically posting you a PIN, NO. They wait until YOU call them and after waiting 2 hours on hold, they inform you they can now only send you a PIN in the mail. It will be between 5-10 Business Days. So it will take app 3 weeks to have a functioning card. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. They know it's a problem, it's up to them to do something about it. Waiting 3 weeks in this day and age for your CC is appalling. Cost of living crisis and this is how it's being handled. As much as I like DJ's reward system, It's not worth the trouble. If this is how they handle the transition and after reading the reviews below. DJ's, you have made a huge mistake going with Latitude and you will loose customers. If I can't get a good reward buying from you with the card, I may as well go elsewhere.
David Jones City store Marcs ladies…
David Jones City store Marcs ladies section. Congratulations on worst customer service ever.
1. Store assistant (that JD is a stretch) was texting, I asked if I could get some help on a Marcs return. The look she gave me was one of inconvenience to her.
2. She walked off after all was done without a word.
I was thinking of purchasing another Marcs clothing in place but after the attitude I received, no thanks. I'll spend my money with nicer professional service personnel.
Incredible. I've been shopping there 30+ years, never received such horrid service from a cranky store assistant.
Useless online search function
This is a review of the website, it has quite possibly the worst search function I’ve had the misfortune of using. I was looking for a hairbrush, apparently DJs doesn’t sell them because ‘hairbrush’ search gave me nothing. I did find hairbrushes in a ‘hair products’ search but really didn’t want to trawl through a whole range of other stuff I didn’t want. I then tried ‘brush’ which gave a vast selection of items including clothing made of ‘brushed cotton’.
I’m old enough to remember when DJs was the quality store where you could find anything, it’s kinda sad to see what it has become.
Yesterday I shopped around and finally…
Yesterday I shopped around and finally I found two tops that fit me, and I went to the counter to pay. I said to the staff who was serving me at the time just a second, I think I left my glasses in the fitting room, I'll quickly grab them and cone, when I get back from the few seconds she left the counter, and no one knows where my stuff is and where that staff was. David Jones' cashiers are really stressed out. I was very upset and sad because they treat customers like this. I had to shop again to find something. Since I got a David Jones gift card for my birthday, I have to buy from there otherwise I would have gone somewhere else. Honestly, I can't deal with stress people like that very mean so I asked everyone in my family not to give me any stuff from David Jones..
Good service always
Good service always. Better than Myer and other stores.
