Worst support greedy company

Worst support ever and the most greedy company Ever since WebPros — a subsidiary of CD&R (Clayton, Dubilier & Rice) — took over WHM/cPanel, the platform has gone downhill fast. Prices are skyrocketing every month, and the product is getting worse. It’s no longer worth the cost, especially when your own installation script is now riddled with errors.

What used to be a simple, one-command setup has turned into a complete nightmare. I’ve wasted nearly three full days trying to install WHM using the instructions on your official documentation, and not once have I ended up with a clean, error-free install. Even gave them ssh access to the server and they end up messing things up. Their support team seem to be a bunch of school leavers. I would not recommend this company anymore.

Greedy VenCaps destroy small creator…

Greedy VenCaps have decided to make the cpanel more expnsive, WAY more exensive, than the actual server space. Small creators and resellers are finding it impossible to maintain current customer protfolios due to the necessary massive price increases they have to pass to small biz and individuals with small low traffic web sites. (most of the internet).

Disappointed with the direction of cPanel

I have been using cPanel for many years and I can say that it is a product that has been a great help to me, especially when I was starting out in web hosting. It's the first control panel I discovered that helped me better understand how the industry works. At first, everything seemed great: the interface was easy to use, the options offered were more than sufficient, and the overall experience was positive. However, in recent years, things have started to take a turn that has made me lose confidence in this product. The biggest drawback, in my opinion, is the pricing policy. I see a constant increase in the cost of licenses, especially every two years, which seems to me to be completely exaggerated. Basically, in some cases, you end up paying more for a cPanel license than for an entire dedicated server, which is absurd. A software license should not exceed the hardware costs, but unfortunately, cPanel is going in a direction contrary to this logic. Another aspect that leaves something to be desired is technical support. While in the past their responses were faster and more efficient, now the whole process seems to have degraded. Sometimes I feel like I'm left to fend for myself, and this is unacceptable, especially when you're paying premium prices for a product.
Because of these reasons, I am determined to completely stop using cPanel for my own hosting project. Moreover, I have also started to avoid web hosting packages that depend on cPanel, because I don't want to support a company that constantly disappoints its users.

They made an error, now it's my problem.

They made an error. Somehow they blame on me? They made an error in their system that mistakenly adds a invalid credit card in their system. They asked for it to be fixed, wich i did within 3 hour after i got their mail and got a receipt. now the day later my license got suspended.

Do they have any idea how to run a company, because at this point they are ruining mine. Now i have to migrate everything to something that work, because of their incompetence.

Do yourself a favor, go somewhere... anywhere else.

I have been using Cpanel for a long…

I have been using Cpanel for a long time and it is a base for our hosting business, however in recent years the prices skyrocketed without offering increased value. It is a good product overall however they recently also blocked direct tickets so they just don't care about the client any more and only want more money. Classic example of corporate greed feeding on small businesses who need to invest into getting clients, increasing server costs and now software is costing so much it is impossible to maintain a profit per client. I am disappointed deeply with Cpanel and wish they get precicely what they deserve!

Support is DEAD, given to third-party companies which don't respond

Unfortunately, I am a Cpanel client for years! And I saw "Unfortunately" because for some strange reason, they charge like 20 USD for VPS Cpanel and 45 USD for Dedicated server Cpanel, thinking that "Those guys should be rich paying that amount every month" .

Years ago we were not renewing Cpanel license when we were not actually needing it and around 2020 they indirectly "BLACKMAILED" us by CUTTING OF EMAIL ACCESS! So we were FORCED to renew Cpanel license EVERY MONTH , in order to have email access!

For the last year, if somebody buys a license from a third-party company, then they should seek for support to that company! I have bought a license from a company who's email accounts are DEAD and I am paying to another company! So Cpanel has cut off access to Cpanel support, asking us to address to third-party companies, if we buy license from them, and NOT providing support for their OWN PRODUCT! How is that sound? Pathetic! Furthermore, Cpanel DOES NOT respond to our support emails!

very expensive, not to be trusted

they keep raising their prices, costs more than the dedicated server, any day they may wake up and decide to ask even for your house for their software to work, not to be trusted at all

Clearly lost touch with their user base.

Where oh where do I being?

Let's start with pricing

Their pricing used to be great, with just 2 choices. VPS or Dedicated, allowing for data centres and consumers to work out the limits of their hardware and grow with their user base.

Now, they seem to think they are the ones hosting the product and have decided to charge based on how many accounts a datacentre wish to have on their server(s), rather than letting the hosting provider determine the limits of their hardware.

Now let's move onto the UX/UI of the product itself.

It is god awful. They have Consolidated many pages that did not need to be combined into one, such as Domains and Sub-Domains, and the whole left side of the page is completely useless.

Overall, if you were looking to use cPanel to easily manage a server you're better of with Webmin, which is free.

I'm sorry but I have to also share…

I'm sorry but I have to also share everyone else thoughts here, you are pricing small companies and starters out of the market with these constant price increases, you are literally ruining your own market when making no useful changes whatsoever, granted the Ubuntu side is cool and is greatly appreciated but the core of your userbase is CentOS/RH/Alma linux etc based, the rest should not be penalised for you filling a gap that's needed filling for years, you will make a profit regardless. I knew this was gonna happen when bought over by the conglomerate, always gonna be downhill as they only care about profit and not the clientbase.

Stop raising prices all the time

Stop raising prices all the time! Give some human options where I can buy a server model for just a few domains, but no as long as it's a physical server I have to buy these 100 account versions. I have ONE account on the server!

cPanel Jupiter Template

They are switching from their old templates to a new template called Jupiter and it looks terrible. I'm almost sick at the sight of this template called Jupiter. Its appearance suggests chaos, disintegration, confusion. On the old templates, the sub-assemblies were well marked and clearly visible. There is nothing attractive about the new look to touch the user's heart. It would be nice if they left the possibility of a real return to the old template.

With the one star, I rate the new template, not the software itself. The cPanel software is good.

Cpanel have got very greedy and are now…

Cpanel have got very greedy and are now charging huge amounts for even single domains.

There are many other options working there way through which is good as there will be a mass migration away.

I am looking at a number of options and expect to transfer all my domains away from CPanel in the next 3 months.

They have been FAR TOO GREEDY

UPDATE - I have been using ISPConfig to do the work of CPanel for over 2 years now, and while it requires learning, it is free and does all I want.

The audacity of CPanel - GREED, Monopoly, UNETHICAL and RUDE

The audacity of CPanel, WebPros with this greedy pricing per account and for NOC pricing with absolutely no considerations for monthly minimum as a new partner is appalling. I don't trust CPanel as a reliable partner for my growing business either since they don't value me as a partner. Also, why are they still doing business in Russia?
