Just requested car insurance transfer to another newer vehicle. The guy I spoke to was dismissive when I expressed shock at the price (I'd had quotes for 225 on go compare) and was quoted 147.44 just to transfer despite having 8 months left on my policy. While I did expect the quote to be higher, I wasn't expecting it to be this high. I then asked how much I'd get back if I cancelled the policy and was informed that I would receive nothing and it would actually cost me £106 to cancel, so in a nutshell I'm screwed either way!!
I was then quoted £350, to cancel my policy and start a new policy.
I've made sure I'm Not on automatic renewal because I will not be using cornmarket again.

My parents have been with Cornmarket Insurance for many years for both house and car insurance, and I cannot praise their customer service highly enough. Since my father's passing, I've taken over managing mum's financial arrangements from abroad, which presents unique challenges that Cornmarket has handled exceptionally well.

What sets them apart is their genuine understanding of different customer needs. Due to my severe hearing loss, I prefer to communicate via email rather than phone calls, and their team has been consistently responsive and thorough in their email communications. They never make me feel like I'm being difficult or asking for special treatment.

Understanding that I'm managing things from overseas, they were happy to set up a direct debit to collect the premium, which eliminates the complication of using a UK credit card abroad. These seemingly small accommodations make a world of difference when you're trying to ensure your elderly parent has proper coverage.

Pricing remains very competitive - this year's renewal showed only a modest increase from the previous year, which is impressive given the current market conditions. The fact that we can bundle both house and car insurance with them also provides good value and simplicity.

After several years of dealing with them, I can confidently say that Cornmarket truly cares about their customers and goes the extra mile to accommodate different circumstances. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an insurance provider that combines competitive pricing with genuinely excellent customer service.

I always look for my own quotes as the initial quote is always high, you match the market place.

A knowledgable, helpful person actually answered the phone and dealt efficiently with my queries, resulting in a policy purchase. I am utterly fed up with companies who do everything they can to prevent you from speaking to anyone, and forcing you to do everything on line when the only options they offer you do not apply to your query.

Straight forward to arrange and seems very good value.
