Great experience.

This is the second time that I have used coplus for lost car keys through my insurance company. I can honestly say they have been brilliant.
My keys were lost on Sunday and by Wednesday I had new.
Very quick process from calling insurance and have Coplus call me to arrange a day for a locksmith to call to my property.
Sean the locksmith arrived early morning and within 45 mins the key was ready.
He was pleasant and courteous.
Cannot fault.

Claimed for a lost key on a Monday and…

Claimed for a lost key on a Monday and had new key by Thursday.
Shame I was only covered for one key when I lost two but hey ho just happy I can drive my car again. The locksmith was a nice bloke came first thing in the morning and rang me when he was on his way.

Lost key cases do need to be handled carefully, as security is a key priority for us. When you contacted us just before midday on 20 December, we needed to confirm cover with the insurer before proceeding, as your policy had only been taken out on 15 December and the information had not yet fully transferred to our systems.

Once cover was confirmed, an appointment was arranged for the 22nd by 3pm that same afternoon. We appreciate that the initial uncertainty caused frustration, and we’re sorry that we weren’t able to give immediate confirmation during the first call.

This key cover is honestly pointless

This key cover is honestly pointless. The policy wording is vague on purpose, and they rely on hidden conditions to avoid paying out. Even with the original keys that came with the ca, they still find excuses not to cover anything. In the end, the cover is a complete waste of money justa money grab.

We’ve looked into your claim, and I can confirm it was declined because the issue reported wasn’t caused by accidental damage. You advised that the key hadn’t been dropped, crushed, exposed to water, or physically damaged in any way. You also advised that both the main and spare key were affected, this strongly suggests a fault with the vehicle’s immobiliser or locking system rather than a problem with the keys themselves.

Our Key Cover is designed to protect against accidental damage, theft or loss of insured keys. Unfortunately, mechanical or electronic faults with the vehicle aren’t something the policy can cover, and we want to be transparent about that.

That said, we genuinely want to help where we can. If you’d like us to review anything further or talk through the decision in more detail, please contact our Quality Assurance team and we’ll be happy to go through it with you. qualityteam@coplus.co.uk

This key cover is a complete scam


This key cover is a complete scam. The odds of a successful claim are close to zero. The policy wording is vague by design, and they rely on hidden conditions to wriggle out of paying. Keys bought after you purchase the car? Not covered. No invoice for programming? Claim denied — even if you used your own coding machine or had a friend help. In reality, nobody in those cases would ever have an invoice. The result: genuine claims get dismissed, leaving the cover totally useless. It’s nothing more than a money grab.

Update : it wasn't resolved to my satisfaction at all.

Aaron on the out of hours line is a top tier employee.
Called him after a crash, and he was friendly, professional and a delight to deal with.
Was able to get all the details sorted and have a laugh with him whilst doing so.
100% should be given all the bonuses, pay rises and promotions he is eligible for as he is a boon to the company.

What a company . The guy came out to my 2011 Skoda to find out that I had a different door lock to ignition . Then my car putting up a fight with every step he took . He worked his magic and finally got it sorted

Quick, easy and hassle free

Went through my insurance as I lost my only set of car keys and they use Coplus. So easy to get a replacement. Very informative and the locks smiths are all very friendly and it literally took about 20 minutes. Very impressed with the service I received would definitely recommend and use again in the future.
