I ordered an item that was backordered

I ordered an item that was backordered, however, when I ordered it, it was not listed as backordered. After a week of no communication, I sent them an email asking about it, they said it would be between 2-9 days. Which was acceptable as it was still 3 weeks to Christmas. I followed up a couple days before Christmas, and they eventually told me the item was backordered and didn't know when it would be in stock. Instead of offering me a discount on an in stock I had to ask about similar in stock items.
I then asked about a discount for my failed Christmas present, to which case they offered me less than 5% off.
They were not corporative at all, and I would recommend not doing business with them.

Let's give'em a break.

You know, there are a lot of reviews on Trust Pilot and on other sites about how terrible the Cook Store is, but my experience was very good. The anger at which some reviewers pour their hearts out, over just a bit of delay in shipping, is impressive to say the least. Let's put some prospective back into this and consider that this is one of the most challenging years for ecommerce sites and let's cut them some slack. Yes, you have to email to get customer support, which is something I wish they would change, but I had always gotten an answer which was polite and accurate from either Chole M. or Lauren B.
Not all of my order has come but they did send my All Clad pasta stock pot, with upgraded shipping from Canpar, and it was here in Quebec in less than 2 days. I am very happy with the quality of the product and it's delivery.
From most of what I could tell, they are very competitive with their prices and most of the time are the lowest price. There is no scam going on here.
We are all a bit anxious and irritated, but that's no excuse to just rant over minor issues and bash the company.

Ordered a cookware set Nov 23

Ordered a cookware set Nov. 23, it's Dec 22 today - nothing has arrived. Nothing but excuses. DON'T ORDER ANYTHING from these people.

We will see if I get a refund.

Now I am one Christmas gift short.

Fraud? 3 emails over a week with no replies.

Ordered on November 27th. Charged my card the same day. Emailed over the last week, 3 messages, with zero replies back. All my emails have been professional and calm. Its been 3 weeks and no tracking or updates to my order. What kind of company does not reply to a customer after a week and 3 requests for updates? Stay away. Possible Fraud.

Charged twice for nothing

Never purchase with cookstore, I feel like I have been scammed.
I tried to purchase a product, was checking out and put in my card details. The website said my details were wrong, and after 5 attempts I gave up. However, later that day I see I've been charged TWICE, even though the website said card not accepted.
I emailed asking if my order went through, and if I could get a confirmation email. I was told that no order has gone through, and that the charges would most likely reverse themselves.
I then asked if they could make an order since I've been changed, to which they said that they cannot see that I have been charged at all.
It's been over a week and I still have over $160 taken out of my account from "COOKSTORE CA"
They will not reverse my charge, and will not let me buy from them either. I can't win!

terrible shopping on cookstore

I paid for the return shipping cost for there mistake.
I ordered a kitchenaid mixer. It's 5 hours later when I want to cancel the order. But there isn't any cancellation buttons. So i go to the help desk and ask to cancel the order.

Cancel request: 10:38 PM 5-19-2020
Cancellation Agreed by email: 5:07PM 5-20-2020

But, 20 days later, I got the mixer. I checked the timeline.

Packing list: 13:51:43 P 6-1-2020
Shipping: 6-2-2020
Delivered: 6-10-2020
They have 12 days to deal with the order. But they failed to do it.
I insist than they should pay for the return shipping fee. but each time they just closed the surport tickets.

 No cancel buttons for the order
 No notice of failure canceled
 No notice to refuse the package

It’s an terrible experience. Will never use this website.

their RETURN POLICY:
Shipping charges are non-refundable unless you had to return the product because we've sent the product to you in error.

At last I paid $38 to return the mixer and got refund.

Do not order. Liars

Items are not in stock but they fail to tell you that at the time of purchase. You have to chase them as they say 2 to 9 days and mid month now and it's not our fault. It is your fault Cookstore. It is.

Poor Customer Service

I am very annoyed that they have not had even the courtesy to reply to my last email. Their lack of acknowledgement and failure to resolve a matter concerning replacing damaged items is unacceptable and exceedingly unprofessional. I have been waiting over 2 months now and all I get is that they are waiting to receive shipment from their suppliers. Same stock answer.

They have provided appalling customer service and I will now proceed to take the matter further.

I will never order from their company again and will pass on my comments to my colleagues with negative recommendations and also complain officially to the BBB.

Don’t expect your goods to arrive on time. I do understand that we have to make allowances for Covid19 but this company is not committed to providing satisfactory customer resolution to delivery problems.

Stay away!

Cook Store charges you before they process your order with uncertain delivery time

I ordered from Cook Store for the first time on November 25th and it said everything was in stock. On November 27th they charged my credit card and on November 28th they send me an E-mail saying "We just wanted to let you know we do have your order in process and we are working hard on it to get it to you as quickly as possible. However due to the COVID-19 crisis there is a slight delay, but we do expect it to ship within 3-6 business days". Why are they charging me before they even process the order? I could not receive an answer yet as they are currently closed. This seems very sketchy. Beware!

So I ordered an Ooni Koda pizza oven…

So I ordered an Ooni Koda pizza oven before reading the reviews...

One day after placing my order I was certain I got scammed.

To my surprise, their customer service team was helpful both on the live chat and ticket submissions(12-24hrs during covid times).

I received my order in less than a week from purchase.

I believe they might use drop shipping methods which is why it may be a hit or miss if the product is in stock.

Anyway, I have nothing but a good experience to share so thank you cookstore.ca :)

I wish I could ZERO star to this…

I wish I could ZERO star to this website.
Two weeks ago, I check the availability of a product on this website and also I chatted online to make sure that is available, and then bought it. after two weeks and sending emails repeatedly, the only thing they are saying to me is "I should wait" because they are also waiting for that too (seems like they do not have it in stock and bought it from somewhere else). that is funny and so frustrating story, and I was told I will get it in 5-6 business days, and now after two weeks, they are not even able to tell me how long I should wait?

DO NOT rely on what is written on this website, and if I were you I would choose another market than this.

Not a Good Experience

I did not have a good experience with this business. I never received the product I ordered, was charged for it and later informed that it was no longer sold by manufacturer. The whole process took 1 month.

Cookstore.ca, please understand you cant be selling out of stock/depreciated products and specially not charge customers unless the product is shipped. I expected more from a Canadian store and was so looking forward to supporting you with my business. But you just disappointed me. Hope you are able to improve in future.

Run.... do not order from Cookstore.ca

I ordered a coffee machine. The website said it was in stock and ready to be shipped. First problems: the website has a phone number but they automated message says they are not taking phone calls during the covid19 pandemic, so you have to put in a request to speak to someone through email. 24 hours after making my order ( they processed my credit card payment instantly) I emailed asking how long the estimated shipping would be. I got an email back saying they did not have the machine in stock. Even through it said online that they had it. I was then told that the coffee machine company is experiencing shipping delays so it may take awhile. Because I didn't want to wait that long and I found the machine at a local store. I asked if they could cancel my order and refund me. I got a reply saying they were sorry about the delays and if I wanted to pick a different machine I could do that, but that if there was nothing I wanted they would be "happy to refund" me. I immediately wrote back "
Please cancel my order and refund me". No reply until the next day. I got an email saying it was not possible to cancel the order or refund me. The machine was already being shipped! After telling me they didn't have it in stock and there would be delays, suddenly 12hours later it's being shipped! What a lie. I told them I don't want it shipped. They said I can refuse the package or ship it back to them but they refuse to pay for the shipping.
Literally the worst customer service: bunch of liars. They have zero desire to make their customers happy. I also asked for someone to call me so I didn't have to keep waiting 4-10 hours for replies. No one has called. Shop anywhere...but at cookstore

Brutal

Brutal - same experience as everybody else... original order from two months ago. They tried to cancel part of it a month ago and I said I'd wait - don't cancel anything. Now it's been two months and it taking too long for the "backordered" items to come in, so I asked for a cancellation today. Their response is that unfortunately since part of the order has been sent to shipping, I can't cancel it. That is BS - suddenly, after two months of nothing, the order happens to be at shipping at the exact same time I ask for a cancellation? They have no way to contact them other than working through their email system. They seem to have only two employees (Chloe M and somebody else). If I check my order online right now, it still says "Processing" and that the items are backordered. Yet, if I search for those same items on their website, they're all listed as available, but part of my order is somehow at "shipping" according to Chloe M who won't cancel and refund me. Do yourself a favor and don't even consider shopping with these folks. Even if something costs twice as much from somebody else, it's worth it.

Don't take the risk

I Bought a item worth 800CAD$ on march 10th 2020, never received it , nor a refund.
after a month waiting, they told me the item was not in stock so they were waiting for it to arrive from the manufacturer. (without being able to give me an estimated delivery date). Yet, the item was "in stock" on their website when i bought it. Another month later, after so much trouble asking for the tracking number of the shipping, they were not able to give it to me. I asked for a refund, But every time they give you an estimated delay, they don't give you a proof of it nor respect it. I'm about to send a formal notice. I want my item or my money back and after a week waiting for a refund confirmation, i still did not received anything! Don't trust them. plus, they no longer reply to my emails...
I'll update this rating if something change.
