Went here on 2nd may 2026. Met some of my favourite actors ever. The staff were amazing and helpful. Although the prices were a bit overpriced it was definitely worth it . Thank you

Honestly think monopoly events only…
Honestly think monopoly events only care about taking your money and don't give a s**t about u. First one I went too was in May. Had a few autographs booked but by the time they announced who was going, all Diamond pass had sold. Mostly I went for the lotr actors. Was badly organised as they were all running late. Wasn't given a time slot for Andy serkis and his line was 2hrs. Staff were rude and didn't give a crap. Wasn't give a time slot for him. When I said I had to take my friends highly autistic brother home as he was stressed, they didn't care at all. So lost £90, plus when I messaged them about it, they didn't reply.
The recent one in November, got a diamond pass but couldn't book a slot for Peggy, dogpool, photo online. Wouldn't let me. When I went on the day to see if i could buy one and buy the autograph, they said no. I explained that the system wouldn't let me buy one, there answer in a sarcastic way, not our problem. Bad company, rude staff. Need better organisation and understand frustrations with the people who spend loads of money to come and see theses actors.
Had a brilliant day at comic con Liverpool
Had a brilliant day at comic con Liverpool with my two daughters went on the Sunday loads of stars to see get photos and autograph off I loved the movie cars and even the truck some of the costumes are amazing lots of stores to buy everything movie series related my kids had a ball especially recommend doing one of the panels I did the Sebastian Stan one can’t wait for the next event
Had a great time at Liverpool Comic Con
Was really thrilled to attend Liverpool Comic Con for the first time and have the opportunity to meet Ralph Fiennes. After reading reviews about previous editions I was worried it would be chaotic, but actually I found it well organised (the timeslots for the big guests are an excellent idea!)
Credit goes to the ground staff who did an excellent job stewarding the site, guiding people to the right places and generally keeping people safe and avoiding overcrowding. They could be quite firm at times, but I guess you have to be with so many people in attendance.
Of course, for such a big event, you have to be prepared to be patient and queue to meet the big stars, but all in all, I found my experience at Liverpool Comic Con really positive. If the guest list is as good next year, I'll be back!
We had a great day at comic con
We had a great day at comic con. My son especially loved getting to meet Rupert Grint. And everyone was so lovely to him. I couldn’t fault the staff, how friendly and helpful they were. If guests were running over, they allowed us to go and get our other photos and come back to another time slot. They couldn’t be more helpful, was sad to see some comic con goers shouting and berating staff over long wait times when that’s to be expected. I don’t think people understand there has to be one way systems and parts of the building closed off until it empties due to venue/fire safety rules. It was so busy and they did their best to keep guests safe from overcrowding, we go every year and this one was the busiest I’ve seen but we had an amazing day. The vendors were lovely and my son loved the funko pop stands. Will definitely be going back in May!
Liverpool Comic Con: 09/11/2024 - 10/11/2024
I attended Liverpool Comic Con for the weekend and I had one of the most fun weekends I've had all year - meeting Sebastian Stan who was the first person I fell in love with when I was introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe instantly made this event one of the best events Monopoly hosted in terms of their guest lists.
Every guest I met this weekend was so kind, respectful and made me feel welcomed, and that the queues - albeit flawed in their organisation and management - were worth waiting in.
Since this event was the biggest event in terms of Monopoly's guest list, Liverpool's venue definitely was massive. Gladly they listened to my concerns from May's event in terms of Arena entrances, although there were still multiple complaints from other customers regarding accessibility for customers with visible and non-visible disabilities - some customers complained about staff behaviour towards those with disabilities which I found shocking.
This event was personally my biggest in terms of networking - I was recognised in the crowd for my Spider-Man India cosplay on Saturday, with guests such as Rupert Grint and Elliot Page singing high praise - Elliot also took the time out of our photo opportunity to fix my wardrobe malfunction which he didn't have to do, but I am forever grateful to him for being so kind to pause the photoshoot to make me feel more comfortable.
The Supernatural guests were impressed with my Ghostface cosplay - all of them interacted with my props like never before, and I was happy to see that there were stalls nearby which provided last-minute props and masks for costumes.
I was in the ECL building on Sunday morning whilst the minute's silence was observed for Armistice Day, and although the entire hall was respectful and silent, I heard reports that the ACC building was loud and disrespectful.
As previously mentioned, I found the queues were chaotic at this event in particular, especially for Rupert Grint, Nadji Jeter and Peggy AKA "Dogpool". I found the queues at this event were poorly mismanaged and quite frankly confusing to navigate, most commonly being told that a queue was for a pre-paid guest with a timeslot, which caused contention between customers and staff members, particularly in Rupert Grint and Peggy's queues. I understand that Peggy had her own routines as she was an animal, but this often lead her to be double-booked with an autograph which lead to even more confusion as this either stopped her queue altogether or caused customers to be turned away, meaning they would lose their opportunity for her altogether. Peggy's queue lasted me about an hour before I had to leave as her queue was about to clash with my photo opportunity for Felicia Day, and by the time I collected my photo from the staff, I had found out that Peggy's owners had cancelled the photoshoot because Peggy was too tired from the weekend, which was a massive letdown as my friend had purchased his photo opportunity prior to the event.
Liverpool has proven to only grow bigger in scale with every event, and with an event on this scale, I expect future events to have more consistent queue management so that their events can flow more quickly and that customers can have a more positive experience when meeting their favourite celebrities.
As a Marvel fan, I am looking forward to the May event for Karen Gillan alone - I have and will always ask the organisers for Scarlett Johansson in 2025, just like how I manifested Sebastian Stan's attendance at the November event a year before the event started.
An amazing experience
An amazing experience. So much fun. Brings life to the city. Will definitely visit again
First timer
This was my first comic con and first time cosplaying and I found everyone lovely and friendly. There was a few things that did ruin it slightly. Neil Newbon autographs, I was in the queue for 3 hours and I don't think pay on the day worked as the queue didn't seem to go down and I felt sorry for Neil trying to get through the queue while also making sure everyone was happy. The prices aswel were alot different to what was on your website which was a let down. May I suggest if he is back, don't do pay on day and limit to how many to sell and fit in because at least that way, you can organise crowds and fit around lunches and not having people either disappointed or rushed.
Photo ops, I had a photo taken with Neil in the morning and unfortunately, my eyes were closed on the photo, I would of thought the photographer taking the picture would check the photo is ok before moving on. I was absolutely gutted . Considering the photo op was £60, I did feel absolutely gutted.
Food, this was overpriced for something so small costing over the odds.
Staff, your monopoly staff were amazing to me, they were on the ball. The venue staff however were not helpful and extremely rude. And trying to direct crowd control was horrendous.
Overall, I loved my first experience and I'm thankful you guys got Neil Newbon there.
What a mess
It's my 2nd time at CCL, the previous being 2 years ago, and I really hoped for some improvements since the last time, especially with the addition of a new big venue - the arena space, but that was NOT the case, unfortunately. It almost felt like this was the first time Monopoly was organizing such a big scale event which is not the case either.
1) Security checks - barely looked into big backpacks, could have brought in almost anything inside the venue with thousands of people. Cosplay weapons were not checked either.
2) The positioning of all areas didn't make any sense.
Autographs and photos could be found in 3 different buildings and different levels (while they could take example of other most cons where autos/photos have designated SINGLE space to make queuing and orientating simple), with inadequate estimation for some guests (like Neil Newbon who had a long queue for 2 days straight which had to cut through to get to some other guests/other side of hall). It lead to overcrowding, jams, and ridiculous one-way systems that created many dangerous or very uncomfortable situations for event attendees.
3) Aliexpress and Temu crap sold at double the price with some vendors who also sold products of questionable quality. Artist Valley was the best thing, but it had like 20 tables or so, compared to other cons this was extremely sad to see. Also, artists were placed in a hall that had a massive migration of attendees, so very crowded. Some artists were also scattered between merch stalls which I could not understand why there could not be a proper Artist Valley corner somewhere to place ALL of them in (and there definitely could have been with better planning).
4) Panels were busy and you had to queue for all of them (so pre-paid panel or free, it was all same demand, and I am certain they are pre-paid to get more money, not for attendees' comfort and safety), but it would have been fine if they would have actually set up a system for queuing ahead of the con. The fact people had to queue on 2nd floor, then 1st floor, then OUTSIDE for half an hour, and there were no proper directions so a lot of people did not even know what the queue was for or where it started and ended - RIDICULIOUS. They could have done a snake method and prepared barriers, and also not crammed that mini Artist Valley and big guests for photos/autos in the same building and used all that space to set up proper queueing and exiting system for the panels. Also, the fact that even if you just wanted to enter Red Zone and not for panels, despite TWO MASSIVE doors on both sides, most of the time people were not allowed to use them and staff was very rude about it. People had to go through the arena (multiple narrow stairs, then big crowd to push through), just to get into the building.
5) I am not even going to start on that one-way system after each panel. I agree with the idea of people leaving the auditory after each panel to make space, but seeing people in wheelchairs being forced to leave or even worse, everyone forced to do 20-30 min walk ALL AROUND the comic con through ALL 3 buildings (multiple stairs, escalators, walking outside through the rain, narrow walkways and main crowd areas). Whoever came up with that must be a genius. So many people have invisible disabilities (physical and mental), and even the ones who don't, to be made to do this walk 3-5 times if you wanted to get into the panels was tiring both physically and mentally. People were constantly forced back into a moving and pushing crowd with no clear indications of exits and that was very overwhelming.
For this reason, Saturday was the worst experience I've ever had at any con (even worse than 2022 CCL). Sunday was a bit easier because less people in overall and also I already knew about these ridiculous systems + where to find things, but that does not excuse this whole mess that was created by the organizers.
The only positive was Sebastian Stan queuing. Having timeslots (should be implemented for EVERY guest) was helpful as people showed up when it was their time, so no overcrowding. Waited around 15 mins to get my photo in a quiet area, and Sebastian was lovely, too. As far as I know, it also ran quite on time with no huge overtime (I assume they did not oversell this guest which CCL usually likes to do with others).
For the ticket so expensive this was barely worth the experience and stress. Maybe CCL should attend some other cons in the UK to take an example at how to better organize their event. But since people are going, I don't think they will care to fix it as they didn't care since 2022 it seems.
Liverpool comic con
I can say this event for Liverpool comic-con has put me off and I don’t think I’ll go to another comic con again. The shambles of Saturdays event of Jason Issac, not even getting to see him till 4.30 and not even have time for a quote. They didn’t prioritise the people who prepaid at all. Then the delay and added cost to all the Baldurs gate 3 actors. This was not stated anywhere before hand even with the last minute schedule release. It’s left a very sour taste to the whole event and I don’t think I’ll ever recommend anyone to go. They over sold the tickets and made it difficult for everyone to enjoy. The actors didn’t seem happy and seemed a bit tired.
A bad experience overall
A bad experience overall. Since Monopoly took over running the Comic Con in Liverpool, things have been getting progressively worse. This year seemed to be the worst managed the event has ever been, certainly the worst managed event I've ever had to deal with.
Security was perfectly fine, no issues there, but once past security, there were all kinds of crowd flow issues caused by lack of signage and one-way systems that made absolutely no sense.
One particularly bad example was the fact that there was a point in the day, around midday, when the red venue had no external entrances! We approached one door, only to be told we had to go through a door into the adjacent building, known as the green venue. Once in, there was no signage to tell people where to go. We all went towards the main arena stands, where there was an influx of people blocking the entrance, probably all lost like we were. Eventually, a staff member started telling people which way was the only way people could go to get down from the stands. This involved a very narrow route down some stairs with too many people on it, and people were still allowed to go up the stairs against the flow of the one-way system, causing blocks. Once down into the standing area of the arena, only then could you go into the red venue via the lowest floor.
At least, we thought it was the red venue, but there was no signage to say this, or any maps around to show us. Once in the red venue, a dangous amount of people were all trying to get onto the escalator. Staff tried to form a queue for them, but failed to ever say that stairs were available, which we had to find for ourselves. Again, no signage present. Once up the stairs, we were confused about where to go. We started thinking this might not be the red venue, and therefore the panel we were trying to reach wasn't in this building, so we left through the other end. We then found a map on social media (not available on the website or obviously available in the venue itself!) and realised we were in the right place before we'd gone outside. This has taken about 15-20mins at this point.
When we tried to come back in, a staff member grabbed me to say that this was not an entrance. This door was on the opposite side of the building to the door we were also told wasn't an entrance. Logically, we thought this must be usable as an entrance, but no. This is when we realised that the red venue had no external entrance, and they purposely create dangerous crowd buildups sending them through the adjacent building for no good reason whatsoever.
Luckily, I argued and they let me through, but they were very rude about it. Our other option would have been to walk around the outside of the whole arena to get to the other side, and go back in via the green venue and do that route all over again, wasting more time and potentially missing the panel.
Once we got to where the panel queues were, staff told us which queue was for the panel, only to realise from other attendees and from looking around ourselves that the queue we had been put in was for a quiz. There was also no queue management for any of these queues from staff.
Staff had no initiative, almost like they were just told they had to uphold the one-way system regardless of how messy or dangerous it was becoming, and didn't know anything about the event. They then later opened one of the red venue doors as an entrance, but only after the crowds had died down, so it was no longer particularly useful. I've been to significantly busier events that have never had these sorts of issues.
There is some good though. They had a good line up of guests. I'm glad that most of the panels are included as part of the ticket (I highlight this as a good thing, but the previous event organiser never charged additional costs for panels, and there was one year when Monopoly charged for every panel, making the ticket far worse value, so it's more nice that they corrected this mistake). I enjoy the various businesses that attend, especially the stalls run by more independent artists, which there were plenty of.
The main point of improvement would be improving the organisation, training staff better, sorting out their queueing system, and sorting out the one-way system which just didn't work. Until they corrected these mistakes, or remove the people that made these stupid decisions, I don't think it's worth attending anymore. I wish MCM would take over again so Liverpool's Comic Con would be sensibly run.
1st time to Monopoly's Liverpool Comic…
1st time to Monopoly's Liverpool Comic con (not our 1st Monopoly event) & in all honesty we were quite disappointed. The guests were varied & some big stars mixed among smaller celebs, however we waited in a queue for approx 45mins for an autograph advertised at £50 to find out the price had gone up to £75. The food was overly expensive for what it was, which i appreciate is the venue not the event organisers. While the stalls were plentiful they were pretty samey. Great if you're after arts & crafts, posters or funko pops (we both collect a few pops but also marvel/DC figures, my little pony, motu etc etc) Stalls were absolutely no good if you collect action figures or classic/retro toys, comic stalls were minimal, not much for people of varying collecting passions
I've been to 3 Liverpool Comic cons and…
I've been to 3 Liverpool Comic cons and this recent one has really disappointed me. Having a famous celebrity be lay on the fay is ridiculous - I had to wait 6 hours to meet the celebrity and by the end of it he was exhausted and barely really talked to anyone which left my friend, who was overstimulated, more upset by everything.
Its ridiculous that someone who was so popular was basically worked to the bone, meaning both his fans and himself were left disappointed.
The only good thing was that the worker eventually put us into diamond pass because we had all been waiting for 6 hours
First experience at comic con was a…
First experience at comic con was a good one, met the people we wanted to meet, great atmosphere until we got to the red building and there was no one to direct us to where we were supposed to go; tried to exit the venue only to be told we had to cue up to leave! Apart from this, good day. Would say it needs more organisation though and maybe not sell as many tickets due to how overcrowded it became very quickly.
Disgusting
(Sarcasm warning)
Well I can honestly say this is without doubt the worst company iv ever dealt with. Considering the owner is good mates with tommy robinson who supposed support the so called little people from corruption, rule breaking bully's it seems when it comes to money all that goes out the window! Don't worry monopoly I will be utter truthful. So few weeks ago I rang up after some comic con tickets to take my son and as both he and his mum are disabled I was told by the guy on the phone I need nimbus cards, I also asked about the fast tracks as obviously standing around for both isn't a option, the guy said I need to get nimbus cards first and obviously the tickets are subject to what nimbus say and eligibility. So I applied for the nimbus cards received them paid for three years each but yes could of had them free as they have pointed out, but if I was going go back next year I might as well.
I rang back up both people on phone ok speak to to be honest but this is when the issue started. I have never booked though these or used nimbus so obviously have no clue what I'm doing told the lad on the phone (let me get this right as this is a reason why they can't refund as well) hi mate I rang up the other week to purchase some tickets but needed a nimbus card I have that with the plus 1 and everything" (hope that's right) so can I ordered the tickets he said so two standard tickets and a carer ( note they only do standard tickets they don't do a disabled one which will become clear later) the ticket are non refundable ok mate can I get the access passes them please which they informed only the disabled and carer can use the passes so I informed him about my son which has no bearing on ticket or the fact I rang up for mobilty tickets with nimbus card. The guy accepted it and said yes mate you are entitled to it let me have a look o sorry we don't have any left! So at this point I'm confused as what the feck I'm supposed to do I ask well what do I do them mate, he tells me go later as it won't be as busy to get in and there are places to sit, yet the comic con liverpool reviews actually say the opposite. I emailed them back complexted at how they can sell disabled tickets without warning no passes are left it doesn't seem unreasonable to inform guests first so I asked for a refund to which I have never seen so many utter disgusting ways around a refund as they physically cant go without the pass. It's not like I'm doing it get a free ticket I got one but it's irrelevant. If there's no seating does that mean your liable I doubt it. But iv had every excuse from they didn't know I needed them. Emails about them before and previous calls. Then using the ticket it self as it says standard so it shows you didn't ask or they didn't know even though it clearly says plus carer and the phone call clearly hears me talk about the nimbus cards and once you give details they have all the person's needs on thd screen showing they need disabilty access. And then it's my fault for not asking first. Like I know how it all works the customer service is it's own complaints department and when you ask for the person's name they do not give it. So all I wanted was a simply refund as they can't go physically without added assistance and queuing is impossible that's it not special pass or force them give me one just a refund , and a explanation why if someone is ringing up obviously with mobility issues why a simple yes we can help you with your purchase with your nimbus cards BUT we don't have any passes. This would of been ok I will have leave it thanks. But no that would be to nice, they take cash then say no and try utter discussing tactics like a wording of a ticket. Yet under the 2010 disabilty act companies must alter thier policy's to account for differences. So a prime example someone who clearly bought tickets for disabled people who were not informed of sell out of passes and can't physically go should refund as you can't class's them as all the same. This company is a disgrace and absolutely not mobilty friendly. I'm sure iv mentioned everything right monopoly I'm sure you can spin another utter disgusting way to justify it, maybe because I'm autistic you can say it because of that I mean you tried justify you didn't no yet anyone with a ear can listen to full recording. I give you permission put it on here. To let the public can tell I'm purchasing tickets for disabilities. Utter disgrace.
Shocking: Comic Con, Monopoly Events & Ticketquarter Refuse Partial Refund Guest Cancellation
Shocking! Don't buy any expensive passes to bypass the queues if you want to have an autograph or photograph with an actor. You will not get any refund on the upgrade to a diamond pass if the actor cancels. Ticket Quarter has refused to offer a partial refund of the upgrade to the standard entry. (I was still happy to pay for the standard entry). Ticket Quarter have stated that the upgrade can still be used to skip the front door queues at entry and therefore, they are exercising their right to refuse refunding the upgrade portion. I will never use TQ again let alone buy any tickets to attend Comic Con or any event hosted by Monopoly events. (Ticketquarter, Comic Con & Monopoly Events - All are responsible).
Complete Comic CON !! Money grab, dangerous overcrowding and over sold
Overcrowded, badly organised, money grab. Oversold tickets for guests, don’t get what you pay for unless you’re very lucky and trying to get a refund is literally impossible. Don’t attend unless you’ve got money to waste. Think any positive reviews must be from staff who work there……..
Good comic con but Mike is a snowflake…
Good comic con but Mike is a snowflake and he has banned me for no reason. Please look at evidence in the chat I just stated my opinion
Great day at Liverpool Comic Con
Had an amazing day at Comic Con on the Saturday. Genuinely one of my favourite days I've ever had with my sons who loved it. (One dressed as a stormtrooper!) Loads of cool stuff to see (partner even realised half way through the day that she's a geek and didn't realise!)
The sets and characters walking around were all great. The Pop Up Puppet Show Back to the Future was hilarious. Kids had photos with Cat and Kryten from Red Dwarf and we also went to the Red Dwarf Q&A panel.
Didn't think we'd be there as long as we were but 7 hours flew by.
Thanks to Emma at Monopoly for a great day to remember.
Good BUT plenty of negatives
Firstly, I thought the Comic Con had some good things such as the wrestling, props, sensory rooms, spacious halls for the panels and guests,
However, it did occur to me early on the Saturday that the event had oversold tickets and that the organization had massively overbooked on guests. I was in the Kevin Smith queue (which was bad enough), and next to me were the Red Dwarf queues and they looked like absolute chaos. So I can't imagine how bad the queues were for the Hobbits. I did see people either faint or have panic attacks around the venues, so the organisers should think about adding less entry tickets next time. I was also left disappointed by the stalls and their lack of variety, as well as overpriced yet limited food options.
However for the Sunday, it was a much better experience as the venue was a little less packed and getting autographs were much more manageable and pleasant. Also, some of the staff were extremely helpful to me in changing to a later timeslot when a guest overrun my scheduled timeslot.
Booked photo for Sean Astin given a…
Booked photo for Sean Astin was given a 3pm time slot queued up from 2pm ,got near the front and then one lad said it was closed ,no explanation from staff just left about 100 people in a queue absolutely dreadful with no idea what to do as the next persons queue was forming although Sean Aston’s queue was still in the barriers
Eventually a few of us had to dislodge gate to get out before a crush ,totally oversold why give a time slot to over 200 people for 30 mins then u have the diamond passes also
Next slot was 4.50 pm oh I’d already booked Elijah wood so lost out on £90 ticket due to greed ,monopoly events has zero contact apart from a info email that’s been emailed numerous times not one reply at all basically just ripping people off ,rang ticketetquarter there saying its monopoly events been nearly a week no reply which is a disgrace
I swear down one year at this will be a crush or accident ,no good for disabled people ,I could barely get around the shops and escalators,no signs for guests only a pice of a4 paper right at the front of queue
Staff rude didn’t have a clue what was going on anywhere ,quick enough when it comes to paying on the front of queues though
£11 for 3 chips that’s 3 actual chips not a portion and a can of water ,monopoly event you put greed in front of your customers and I will get my money back
