Dear Customer,

We understand your frustration. However, as already explained in our support conversation, the gift card you purchased was issued specifically for use within the United States, and the redemption system validates the user’s physical location, not just the website or store used.

According to our records, the card was accessed from Morocco, which is outside the designated region. As confirmed at checkout, customers are responsible for selecting and confirming the correct region before purchase.

The brand suspended the card due to this regional mismatch, so unfortunately, a refund is not possible in this case.

Kind regards,
CoinGate Gift Cards Team

Very disappointing experience – gift card “Under Review” and no response from support

Do not make any purchase from them.

I purchased a €9.30 ($10) gift card from CoinGate Gift Cards on October 7, 2025 (Order ID: 1362550). My payment went through successfully, and I received the gift card and activation link from spend.runa.io.

However, when I tried to activate the card, I received the following error message:

“Under Review: The reward you are attempting to redeem is currently under review. Please try again later.”

I immediately contacted CoinGate Gift Cards support (support at coingate.gift
), and my conversation went as follows:

October 7: I first emailed them explaining the issue.

Joe from CoinGate replied, saying this usually happens if the customer is not in the designated country or if suspicious activity is detected, and asked for my public IP address.

I replied with my details (I am from Bangladesh) and my IP.

Joe then explained that the review process is controlled by the brand’s own redemption system, not by CoinGate, and that I should contact the brand’s support.

When I asked for the brand’s contact information, Joe gave me the email support at virtualrewardcenter.com
.

I then emailed Virtual Reward Center on October 12, 2025, providing all details including:

My full name, country, order ID, purchase date, and screenshots of the error message and activation link

After that, Joe from CoinGate sent a few follow-up messages (CC’ing Virtual Reward Center), asking me to send them the activation link directly — which I did.

I sent a detailed email (as requested) with all the links and screenshots again to support of virtualrewardcenter.com, but as of now, I have received no reply from them.

It has been almost a month since my purchase, and my card is still not activated. I have paid for a product I cannot use, and the issue seems to be stuck between CoinGate and Virtual Reward Center, with neither side resolving it.

This experience has been very disappointing. I understand regional restrictions can apply, but the lack of transparency, communication, and proper support from both companies is unacceptable.

I hope this review helps other customers be aware of such issues before purchasing. I would also appreciate if CoinGate or Virtual Reward Center could review my case and provide either a working card or a refund.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback.

As explained in our support conversation, the gift card you purchased is designated for use within the United States. Since you are located in Bangladesh, the issuer’s system automatically placed your card “Under Review” due to a region mismatch.

Please note that the brand’s redemption platform verifies the customer’s location at the time of activation, and this process is fully controlled by the issuer. Unfortunately, this means that the restriction cannot be lifted or overridden from our side.

Because the card was successfully revealed to you, it is not eligible for a refund under our policy.

We understand this situation can be frustrating, but all region requirements are clearly stated on the product page before purchase.

Kind regards,

Bought Visa gift card that requires…

Bought Visa gift card that requires "manual activation" by calling the issuer company, only problem being that the company is unreachable and their website keeps throwing system error.

I've tried to activate it and use the card in the US, so no, it's not a regional issue, they simply offer a scam on their website.

Just look up yourrewardcard.com on TrustPilot and it'll paint a clear picture for you, I wish I had done the same prior to purchasing their Visa gift card.

Their support acknowledges the issue, stating that they have seen other people complain about the issue, while also refusing to take any action.

Dear Customer,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience. Please note that the “manual activation” error message typically appears when the card issuer’s system detects that the activation attempt is coming from outside the designated country or when their system flags suspicious activity.

The issue originates from the issuer’s activation portal — we do not have access to their internal tools or the ability to override their verification or security processes.

We understand this is frustrating, but the activation and security checks are fully managed by the card issuer.

Dear Customer,

We’re sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. Your order was successfully completed, and you revealed the gift card details.

The response delay occurred due to a temporary increase in support requests following a global AWS server issue. We’ve already explained everything in our support conversation, and the matter has been fully resolved.

Thank you for your understanding.
