Absolutely Useless and careless

Absolutely Useless
I initially called them and asked to talk to someone and was told that I would be able to talk to a nurse or a mental health support member the day after. When I told them my situation in depth which also included a lot of very uncomfortable details about my personal life they told me that that’s the only thing that they could do was for me to self refer to vitamins which in itself has terrible reviews. Prior to this, I talk to my general practitioner about this call and about medication for depression and I was told that I should speak to the Crisis Team’s consultant psychiatrist.
When I told the mental health support member from the Crisis Team this they scoffed and said that they doubt that. This person I was talking to, didn’t even try to hide it and was very condescending.
This is a dark contrast to my previous experiences with them six years ago where they were actually hopeful and referred me to have therapy at the Coast Resource Centre.
Saying that though I do not know if this is the same group or people anymore.

To summarise: DO NOT CONTACT THESE PEOPLE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TALK DOWN TO AND DISMISSED CONSTANTLY
Whilst this email might seem like the ventings of someone who is just frustrated at this company, I can assure you that I am just disappointed that a service like this would treat someone who is at the worst point in their life and is having suicidal ideations on a daily basis

I have been the back and forth on a seeming pissing match between CMHT and my GP (Ben passey heaton) for a couple of years now. I’ve asked for a phone call but instead I am back and forth translating letters to each other and waiting weeks. My psych is very nice but seems reluctant to liaise with psychiatry UK himself for reasons unknown to me, though I have asked for this specifically.

I usually speak to Helena who is brilliant but I spoke to another lady today and asked to escalate. I had to call back and ask again, was told they couldn’t do anything unless it was a complaint. I chose that avenue, then she told me the doc would be in this afternoon and she would have him call me (I have specifically phoned back AGAIN to speak to someone else). I felt she was trying to dissuade me from the complaint that they rightly deserve to be a lot worse than I intend. Upon repeating that I’d like to speak to someone else she agreed then hung up. Not the first bad experience I’ve had, they badly need retrained. They also uploaded someone elses’ confidential discharge letter with details of their diagnosis and medication to my account, which is frightening and has since had me worried about my own however I have no other options for support and it has been an uphill battle since 2023

The problem with this trust is the…

The problem with this trust is the staff are not as honest as they claim to be. In an appointment there were staff sitting and they were asked what are you doing with the piece of paper, they claimed to be making notes yet when they were asked if they would show the people who were sat with them the staff didn't.

After the appointment the people who had been to the appointment had requested their health notes only to find that the staff from the appointment had not written down what was being discussed but they had written something completely different. It just leaves you wondering why the staff have to be that way. The need for this trust to continue to provide anyone any help would require the vast improvement of the trust and the staff that is employed within it.

There are so many things that needs improved and the following come to the surface.

1. Much better communication from the people who answer the telephone. They should have to provide to you their full name and job title.

2. The need for staff to listen to you before they interrupt your question, they themselves should really learn about cues.

3. The need for the staff to understand what you are telling them and why it needs to be mentioned.

4. The correct documentation to be recorded accordingly and truthfully by the staff

5. For the staff not to dismiss anyones symptoms and not judge the person or people who they are sat with.

6. For the trust to adhere to the website policy regarding what is actually available for anyone who contacts the trust for help be it a phonecall appointment or face to face.

NHS mental health crisis team are an absolute waste of time. Rang them with concerns of my mums mental health yesterday and they give some advice but said they would ring her as a welfare check. They did not ring her at all. She’s 70 and threatening to kill herself. The woman I spoke to was like a robot reading from a sheet. No wonder mental health is so bad and so many suicidal people. They were no help at all

..if you can imagine..spent 60+years living a lie ..of a life..knowing..but also not totally able to understand..exactly...
Major crisis...took 3 years to get help from the mental health sector of NHS..
Offered help..took it..what else could I do???...1 year psychotherapy..dynamic..wow...
OK it took almost 10 months to totally connect with the (trainee)therapist..but I DID...I was starting to breath differently..my composure was becoming calm..I (quietly at 1st) began to love this woman...suddenly there was a POSSIBILITY..quietly..that there was a different way of seeing the world..to be the LOVING CARING SHARING person..
...""well it's time to start thinking about ending your sessions..only 6 more weeks..""..screaming..shouting..threatening retribution..NOTHING WAS GOING TO CHANGE...."ITS ENDING..GET USED TO IT..."

I was referring to the crisis team last month when I had a mental breakdown and suicidal thoughts. Unfortunately the lady on the phone was incredibly unsupportive and judgemental. She criticised me for not wanting to leave the house on my worst days. She asked if I was suicidal I said yes, she asked if I made plans to kill myself. I said no. She said good because if you have we can't help you. I left that phone call feeling worse. Horrible lady with a horrible attitude that felt to me that she didn't care. Would NEVER EVER use that service again. No wonder our mental health services are failing.

CNTW

CNTW - Carlisle crisis team. Shocking, useless, lacking the basic skills required like empathy and customer service. You’d be better off speaking to a brick wall for help. Their knowledge and understanding of additional needs is zero and unless a question or answer pops up on their little screen in front of them then there’s nothing floating around that may strike staff as an opportunity to help. Shocking

Do they actually help anybody?

The way I was spoken to was disgusting, was told “nobody’s coming to help you (my name)”, woman seemed evil and like she was trying to make me feel worse. She was talking to me the whole time as if I was just a child throwing a tantrum. Why does the line even exist if they can’t treat people who are struggling with respect?

Awful service

Awful service. I called in an acute event with my father which just left me even more stressed out. Had no follow up call. Have recently put in a complaint with PALS to which their response was “lack of resources”. Diabolical service for some of the most vulnerable. 0 stars

My rubbish experience of the crisis team

If I could give minus a million stars, even that wouldn’t be enough to reflect my negative opinion of the crisis team. They wouldn’t recognise a crisis if it smacked them in the face. They are about as helpful as an ant! The so called crisis service they think they provide is absolute rubbish. In fact, they actually make a crisis into more of a crisis! The whole “crisis” team need to all go on permanent leave. This is one service that vulnerable people can well do without!

FRAUDSTERS

Not sure who or why these people are calling me asking if i hear voices...?.... fact you called to ask this would be silly if I was deaf.....Then writing letters about conversations that never happened... in all honesty seems like a wind up.

Surreal And Shocking

Surreal and shocking. Complete lack of professionalism or just basic caring. Lost for words really. Some vulnerable people at their lowest point will call this 'service' and be pushed over edge. Undercover journalists need to record calls and expose this situation. This is unacceptable.
