Sun holiday's a total scam
I have been made aware that booking direct with Parkdean rather than using sun Holidays is cheaper and also includes the guest passes. I have tried to get a refund as this is fraud and false advertisement.
Sun holidays has now stopped all communication with me after several emails. They are taking advantage of low means families and are scamming people out of there hard earnt money.
Holiday makers beware!
We booked our holiday for £130 for a 4 night stay at Broadland Sands Lowestoft arriving 22nd September. Had to pay for 4 people even though there are only 2 of us but thought the price was reasonable at the time. We were advised on several occasions including the day before we arrived that we had been upgraded to a superior Gold star 2 bedroom caravan. On arrival we saw that in fact we had been allocated a 3 bedroom caravan and the main bedroom was tiny as of course the 3rd bedroom which we didn't require had taken up room from the main bedroom. Access around the bed was almost impossible as the space was so tight. However we unpacked and thought it would be ok. After an uncomfortable night we complained to the reception staff who said that the Sun had 'upgraded' us to a 3 bedroom and we should have been advised via email, which we were not. To be fair they offered to move us to a 2 bedroom but we couldn't face packing up, moving and unpacking again so we left the following morning after a 2nd uncomfortable night! The 3 bedroom caravan was not in our opinion an upgrade if the main bedroom is so space compromised. They confirmed there were only 2 of us only 3 days before we arrived! Also, we found that if we had booked direct, we could have paid £99 instead of £130, so Sun holidays are not always cost effective. The caravan was clean, well equipped and the reception staff were very pleasant.
I'm actually on Southview holiday park…
I'm actually on Southview holiday park as I write this, caravan site sunset. 1st when we arrived and checked in at 4pm the caravan was an absolute disgrace and not cleaned at all, the beds was stained and unclean so I report this to onsite office and asked to be moved. That wasn't happening and instead they sent a bloke to sort beds and 2 cleaners to clean the caravan. 5.30pm they got it looking better than it was. Today my 2nd day early morning a security guard knocks with a clipboard asking me to rate the caravan so I give it 0 and explained why. Then 4.30pm the carbon monoxide alarm starts blaring out so I ring the office to be told the maintenance man will attend. 5.30 I ring back asking if maintenance was still on his way and I was reassured he was and he's working until 6pm..I was told there office doesn't close until 7pm so at 6.40 when no maintenance engineer attending to check out this carbon monoxide alarm I decided to ring the office seen as they don't close until 7pm. 15 telephone calls and they didn't answer the phone. Anyone who's stayed on sunset knows the distance walking to main office especially been at the far back, it's a good hike the office would have been closed by time I got there. I feel I'm deliberately ignored because I voiced an opinion on the state of this unclean caravan. I believe they had no intention of helping me with this carbon dioxide machine because I voiced an opinion on the cleanliness of this van. 4.30 it was reported, they had ample time to help. Disgusting service all round!
Booked a holiday and took out insurance…
Booked a holiday and took out insurance and luckily I had taken out insurance or so I thought. Contacted sun holidays to tell them I would need to cancel as there was a death in the family they told me to send a copy of the death certificate so my partner sent it to them got a message back saying they could not open it so I sent it from my phone they confirmed that they had got it and they would forward it to the relevant department and I would get a reply within 2 days weeks later I phoned and they said it had been sent to the relevant department and I would get a reply the next day 3 times I was gobbled of with this reply now another 2 weeks have passed so I will need to contact them again. It was bad enough with losing a family member and having to send a copy of death certificate just felt like they were saying I had told them lies
So basically the insurance you pay for is really worthless
Excellent service from the Sun
Excellent service from the Sun holiday’s team. In particular Chris who was able to help me resolve an issue I had quickly and professionally. I will definitely be booking again!
Thank you
I cannot thank Hannah at Sun holidays enough for the help she gave after suffering a family bereavement and the first colleague I spoke to dismissed my please for help I called back and Hannah realised how exceptional my case was and managed to get my dates sorted. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
Holidays from £9.50 but when I go to…
This was all a joke there are no holidays for £9.50 and I had to fill up the form about five times and each time I filled the form in it took me back to the beginning again eventually it worked then crashed and then wouldn't work anymore complete and utter waste of time.
Stayed 4 nights at Lyons Manor Park
We stayed 4 nights at Lyons Manor Park near Allonby, Cumbria.
Cannot complain about anything. Mobile home and camp site excellent, with friendly helpful staff.
Well I paid 235£ for 4 nights in Wales…
Well I paid 235£ for 4 nights in Wales golden sands for 5 people
Which includes a newborn. Charged me for a newborn. Then I find out golden sands have sent me another bill of £120 so it would of been easier to book through golden sands. On top of that golden sands contacted me to tell me their was no upgrade available even after buying the upgrade
AVOID
Thought i was booking a caravan but when email confirmation come though it was for a chalet. I asked to ve moved to a caravan but got told no. Even when I assumed I was getting one.
The sun or resort won't refund me or change my booking. So I've lost £194. AVOID
The Sun Hols wouldn't refund my holiday…
The Sun Hols wouldn't refund my holiday (£93) despite paying cancellation insurance due to my fathers terminal cancer worsening. They wanted me to send them evidence of his disease (which is confidential) via a GP letter (which they wouldn't provide me as I'm not the patient). Disgraceful.
Disgusting scam not on!!!
I booked a holiday for August 2023 to France. I paid for the insurance in case of cancellation etc. we were due to fly the day the air traffic control went down so we couldn’t go…. I’ve made numerous complaints to try to get our money back and still nothing. Not to mention, 9.50 holidays is a joke as I don’t see ANY that price which is misadvertising. Disgusting considering it’s basically aimed at lower class and those who can’t afford to go away usually!! Also, they don’t reply to reviews, so no accountability taken and a lack of customer service shown which means they have no care for their customers at all.
Stay away from this misguided venture….
Stay away from this misguided venture….
Despite I have been offer priority access as a new subscriber the site haven’t opened up for 10 hours whereby keep sending error I am not eligible for this promotion. In between I had try to resolve all technical glitch by putting my own technical knowledge but issue remain unresolved. By the time I got the access all holidays on list were more than £40 during the school holidays which I can get elsewhere too with some other discounts and offers. This is my 3rd experience trying my luck to get through Sun holidays but I never seen any holidays that are cheaper during school holidays. Such a waste of time and money paying for the newspaper. What I learnt is tactic they use whereby having very very few cheap holidays in bucket and doing massive advertisement whereby only lucky family will be able to secure the spot who might have equal luck of winning a lottery. I would rather try putting my lucks in wining a lottery over wasting a time collecting Sun codes and end up being resolving their technical mass.
Took our payment but no holiday accommodation available - no refund
We booked a holiday in January 2024 through the Sun holidays. However, we required an accessible static van but there were no options on booking to get this. Instead, it said we had to contact the park. I sent an email to the park the same day as i booked. No one replied. I contacted them again both by email and by phone on 31st January. Again no one replied to the email and the lady on there phone said she would call me back once she had sorted out the accommodation. No one called.
After numerous more calls and either no one replying, or saying they were busy and would call back, still no one returned my calls. In March, i sent another email to Lyons Sunnysands and no surprise, no one's responded.
This pattern went on for 6 months. I contacted the Sun and was told to contact the holiday park. I explained that is what I had been doing, as per their terms and conditions and that no one was answering my requests.
We were due to go away on 16th September. On 7th September, i finally managed to speak to a manager at Lyons Rhyl. They told me they only had a dog friendly static that i had booked in January. I explained that there were no options for accessible and that i had tried to sort this out for 9 months. They said they had no vans available. My mum is in a wheelchair and required grab bars and walk in shower. They couldn't provide this and only told me this a week before we were due to go away, despite in January a member of staff telling me she would make these arrangements.
As such, we couldn't go because they wouldn't accommodate my mum's disability. I have since spoken to the manager at Sunnysands who told me they only have one accessible static and it gets booked months in advance. I said i booked this the very day the Sun holidays became available 9 months ago. She tried to say it is likely if was already booked. If that is the case, why did no one tell me that on the 12+ times I tried to call or in a reply to my many emails? This is clearly a scam.
They took my payment in January. I am still waiting for a refund. The manager at Sunnysands said it would take around a week to refund. Now they are saying it will be 6 weeks. The Sun are saying they won't give refunds despite me having the holiday insurance and the fact that this is the mistake of the holiday park. I have also sent a letter to the CEO of Lyons. He also hasn't had the common decency to reply.
So we've had no holiday and they've not refunded us. Do not fall for this scam, especially if you're disabled, because they haven't got sufficient accommodation available and you won't get your money back. We're passing this over to visa now.
Fantastic holiday to Simuni
Fantastic holiday to Simuni, Croatia through The Sun holidays.
We were a ‘family’ group of 6, daughter, son in law, 2 babies, best friend and myself.
We requested accommodation close to each other so that we could all help with childcare and Eurocamp placed us next door to each other.
Simuni is beautiful, long golden beaches and the bonus of being very quiet in early June. Lots of beach bars, restaurants and shops all slightly more expensive than uk but would expect that in a holiday village.
All the staff were smiley and helpful and a constant presence in their golf buggies rushing around the site. The service was superb, we requested a kettle and a brand new one, still in the box was brought within 5 mins and when we had no hot water a new gas bottle was brought just as quick.
Our shack as we called it was kitted out with all brand new mattresses, kitchen equipment and garden furniture and we enjoyed early evenings when returning from a day at the beach, chilling on the decking and soaking up the last rays of sun.
We paid £18 pp for this wonderful escape and our flights to Zadar were very cheap too.
On our last day we used the shower black which was superb, super clean and had the usual male and female showers and also family and a kids area with a cute brightly coloured designed shower area.
Only two very small negatives, firstly no toaster which was missed at breakfast, and secondly the list of cleaning duties that Eurocamp expect is slightly unreasonable. I get that people should not leave the accommodation in a tip and should tidy up but requesting that guests ‘sweep in corners and under the bed’ is actually the housekeepers job!
This said had an amazing time in a beautiful camping village.
Thank you Sun Holidays we had the best time!
Sun holidays is a scam
Never book your holidays through Sun Holidays; it's a complete scam. Once you've booked, if you find yourself in an emergency, they won't offer cancellations, amendments, or refunds. There's no benefit for customers whatsoever, and they don't allow any changes even within a 24-hour window with minimal cancellation fees. It's a total scam, ripping people off without any remorse. I recommend booking through a reputable website where you can have peace of mind knowing you can get refunds, make changes, or amendments. Not everyone reads the terms and conditions, and it's a big company. Maintaining such strict terms and conditions only reinforces the perception of it being a total scam. I'm highly disappointed in the rubbish service provided by Sun Holidays.

We wouldn’t do the sun holidays deal…
We wouldn’t do the sun holidays deal again, we ended up paying £250 for our holiday which was fine as we went on a bank holiday weekend for 3 nights, the reason why we wouldn’t do it again was the caravan was supposed to be a silver grade, it was barely a bronze, it was dirty and basic and when we priced the holiday up booking direct with the caravan site it worked out we had paid £20 less doing it through the vouchers. In future we’ll not bother buying the papers and just pay the extra for a nicer site.
I booked the so called Sun £9.50…
I booked the so called Sun £9.50 weekend breaks I knew I had to book for 4 people although there are only 2 of us travelling and accept this where I think we were mis-sold was I opted for a upgrade from the standard caravan to what they called extra wide caravans this then included a free upgrade to what they called the extra wide premium caravan for which I paid an extra £67 I was happy to do so until I went into the actual caravan site where I could not see the Premium caravans so I phoned the caravan site that said they do not have Premium caravans or extra wide caravans the only thing on the site was Gold plus caravans this was the only option so I phoned the sun to see why I had been charged for a upgrade when there is no upgrade I was told that this was the suns opinion of the caravans I said in my opinion I had been mis-sold and would like either my money back and a cancellation or the extra £67 I had paid for nothing I told the man fromm the sun I had read the terms and conditions and it said nothing about the caravans were the description of the sun he just kept saying the sun had done nothing wrong and if I cancelled there was no refund I told him I would put out this situation for others to see as I am sure I am not the only person who has been duped booking these holidays the 3 days in a caravan cost me a total of £188 so hardly £9.50 holidays are they at the end he had the gaul to say if we did not intend to go for our weekend would we let the Sun know so they could sell the holiday to someone else who had been unsuccessful
could book the weekend and obviously mislead them too I would never buy the sun again and certainly would never book anything with them again so everyone please be aware if you think about booking any other so called offers they have to offer
Booked sun holidays for years
Booked sun holidays for years. Last booking I paid the basic £9.50 and was allocated a beautiful caravan extra wide which is usually a £80 upgrade. Have stayed in smaller units but considering it’s just me and 2 children it was perfect. Would recommend:-)
