The on-line system is easy to understand and use. The staff are always helpful and knowledgeable.

Producing this physical identity card is little more than a pointless money-grabbing exercise given in particular that the card is only valid for three years

Even though the application process can be a challenge. Photos can be frustrating for some. You might be asked to provide additional uploads,if there is a problem. Once you pass the Citizencard test to become a cardholder it feels great to have this card. The idea behide this form of ID might sound a bit of a novelty. You don't know for sure, if it will be any good unless you give Citizencard a go.I'm happy to be apart of this experience. Thanks Citizencard for finally trusting me with a card. I love it. Just a warning to future customers (dont remove the clear plastic covering on your card unless you want to make it invalid.

It's true what other's say about this company. With More strict rules than obtaining a passport! They will use any excuse to deny your application so they can keep your money then justifying it with their t's & C's. I am 100% sure that one of their representatives Will be along with one of their generic replies soon. The passport office accepted my paperwork and referee without question, they are government agencies, which further shows how this service is a scam. Avoid using them, contact your Bank and claim your money back. Thanks for wasting my time.

If I could give less than one star I would do, absolute scam operation. Paid £30 for the urgent service, only to be told my supplied documents were photocopies and therefore unacceptable. These were legitimate original documents directly from my local government office which were used to obtain my passport 20+ years ago, but Citizencard weren’t having any of it. I thought this would be a quick and convenient way to obtain a form of ID, but it was actually simpler and quicker to renew my passport instead, which I did - using the documents rejected by Citizencard! If you’re considering applying for this I’d advise to think VERY carefully before parting with you money (which is one of the first things they have you do), because when they find a reason to reject you, which mark my words they will, that money is GONE. They will not refund you, and tell you the money you paid them was used for checks/admin etc, it’s an absolute scam. To top things off I am a visually impaired British citizen, and no doubt am not the only disabled person to have been ripped off by these scam artists, so let me repeat - if you’re thinking of applying for one of these, DON’T!!
PS: there’ll no doubt be some scripted reply to this from Citizencard, it’s all excuses and justifications - AVOID!!!

No actually there is no option to add tracked postage to a standard application please do not lie in your replies. It has been 10 days since my card was supposedly sent out and i am still waiting on a reply on how you are going to rectify the bad service which has been provided
Terrible!! Card was sent out on the 28th July still haven't recoeved and the only thing they can tell me is give it time. No they should be checking with royal mail but considering they don't bother sending with any tracking they probably can't. Picking how you want your card sent out should be an option.

What was promised from citizen card to be an easy, quick and reliable application turned out to be the exact opposite!
I applied for two cards for both of my children in February 2025, since then they have messed me around over and over again.
They have asked for multiple copies of birth certificates, change of name deeds and photos, which I provided 5 times in total.
I've had to get my nominee to sign and sign again to please citizen card only for them to now ask for my nominee details which they have been given several times.
And on top of that, they refuse to refund my £30 saying the same generic nonsense of the money being used for the application process, which hasn't happened yet, as 7 MONTHS later, I am still waiting for the cards to be issued!!!!
One staff member Rebecca, is as blunt as they come, she doesn't care that this long drawn out 7 month idiocy farce has made me unwell, and they keep making stuff up as they go along with no results at the end of it.
I've had no apology, and to messed about like this is nothing short of cruelty to a valued customer who has done EVERYTHING that has been asked, and I am beginning to think this is some sort of vendetta against me for daring to ask for a refund and making a complaint.
Do yourself a favour, DO NOT get your ID from citizen card, go to the DVLA instead as they do not ask for hardly any hefty paperwork that these jobsworth's ask for.
7 months later, and still no cards.
Well done citizen card, yet another customer unhappy with your bad service and cold nature. 👎
