I started the classes without any expectations and I already see, after 10 classes, that some sentences comes naturally to mind! Teachers are very friendly, classmates as well. A wonderful academy!

Feeling very lucky these days. I’ve had a wonderful career (now retired), a great family, and a lifelong connection to the Jewish world. I’ve been to Israel many times and even learned some Hebrew in school—but something was still missing.

When I retired, I realized that piece of the puzzle was Hebrew. I tried learning from a book, but didn’t get very far.

Then I found Citizens Café—and it’s been a game-changer. I’m now in Level 5 of 12, with a long way to go, but I can’t imagine learning Hebrew any other way. The teachers are fantastic, the method is fun and effective, and best of all, the online format brings together students from all over the world. (There’s an in-person option in Tel Aviv, too.)

Most of all, the vibe is warm, supportive, and unafraid of mistakes—which is exactly what language learning should be.

I am absolutely thrilled to write a review about my learning experience at Citizen Cafe. I have been taking Hebrew for 5 years and was initially quite skeptical of their teaching method at first because I am a visual and grammar based learner. Boy was I proven wrong! My brain completely rebooted after 5 lessons. My teacher is incredibly engaging, positive, creative, patient, and motivating and provides a safe and challenging learning experience. I can say the same about all the staff members that I have met so far. The practice tools and extra curricular activities are so helpful to improve one’s speaking ability. The extra added benefit of this program is you get the chance to meet and develop relationships with other participants from around the world.

I am thoroughly enjoying learning Hebrew with Citizen Cafe. It’s a fun way to connect to the language by not only speaking a great deal, but also learning the latest slang and watching short documentaries and videos that are in Hebrew. The teachers are all lovely and inspire us to continue to do our personal best with our Hebrew journey’s .I highly recommend anybody who wants to learn Hebrew and have fun doing it to sign up for Citizen Cafe.

Simply the best language learning class. The teachers are extremely engaging and helpful. Learning a language is a lot of work but at citizen cafe its also a lot of fun!

The classes are fun and they move at a good pace. I am definitely learning g things and I have more to learn. I am hoping when I am in Israel next more of the language will be accessible to me.

An excellent method, good material and amazing teachers.

Citizen Cafe Tel Aviv is absolutely the best Hebrew language learning program! From day one students practice listening, speaking, and writing skills. The teachers are encouraging and motivating, and the students really form a community. There are also so many opportunities to practice language skills outside of class including practice sessions, flashcards, and listening and speaking exercises on the platform.

I've lived in Israel for many years and started with the standard Ulpan courses, along with several other programs over time. Despite the investment, I was left frustrated and disappointed because I could only manage very broken sentences. On top of that, the stress and pressure of learning made the process overwhelming, so I eventually gave up—for years.

Recently, I realized it’s never too late, and improving my Hebrew is truly important, so I started exploring online courses. That’s when I came across Citizen Cafe on my Facebook feed, and it sounded exactly like what I needed: a fun, supportive environment where learning and speaking come naturally.

I’m now halfway through my first semester, and I couldn’t be happier! I love the upbeat, fast-paced classes, the effective repetition, and most importantly, the emphasis on speaking. I plan to continue with Citizen Cafe all the way through their most advanced courses, and I’m confident that by the end of the year, I’ll finally feel comfortable speaking Hebrew!

Citizen Café isn’t just about learning a language but about connecting and making friends worldwide. However when I started 4 years ago I could hardly communicate, now I can talk easily with family and friends, can discuss politics and I can read and write (but I need to improve 😉). Coming together twice a week also helped me coping after Oct 7th because I felt less lonely. All together: I do recommend Citizen Café full heartedly! It is an excellent method, it is fun and meaningful too.

I am so happy I found Citizen Cafe! I’ve taken hebrew classes before with great teachers but Citizen Cafe is by far the best! Their method really works! The teachers are absolutely amazing, the classes are fun and the academy provides you with many resources to study and practice. It’s a community of people that are passionate about the hebrew language. I love it!

Really amazing method to learn. I ‘ve just started and already can see the progress. The speed is not too pushy, you get into a rythm that’s confortable for people working and repeating, repeating, repeating makes it finally become natural. It gets in! Really happy to be part of the citizen cafe classes.

I have been studying Hebrew for many years, on and off. Of all of the different iterations of study, this one has been the most effective, rewarding, and fun. I have been taking classes with Citizen Café for nearly a year, and my Hebrew speaking and comprehension have never been better. The teachers are outstanding, the resources provided to us for studying and practicing are top-notch, and the community that is being built in the classrooms lend itself to a supportive and exciting learning experience. I would recommend this program to anyone who is looking to gain the skills necessary to have real conversations with Israelis and Hebrew speakers! I can’t wait to get back to Israel and speak Hebrew with fluency and confidence!

Beautiful World Citizen Cafe

After learning many languages in my life I was happy enough to « meet » Citizen Café for Hebrew. At this stage of my life ( I am 87!!!) it is difficult to learn a new language because the memory is fragile and not as trustable as it used to be. I have hard time. But the CC method works wonderfully for me.
On top of the quality methodological approach (repeat and repeat and repeat…) AND the kindness and patience of all instructors (I got three already) it became a real pleasure to check that I am still able to learn and transform my present time into a happier time.

A brilliant & fun language learning system!! Citizen Cafe has been such a wonderful experience so far. Always enjoyable, you learn through talking and repeating and interacting with each other and the teacher. The teachers have all been just so wonderful. Kind, generous, joyful. I've studied many languages, but this system outshines every other. Absolutely recommend Citizen Cafe!
