Citizen cafe is the best way to learn Hebrew! I tried other courses, and one on one tutors, but they were too complex. Citizen cafe breaks it down and makes learning easier (still not easy learning a new language). They also make the classes fun, which is one of the reasons it works so well. The teachers are all amazing and responsive to questions via what’s app. Practice sessions, in addition to 2 classes/week, are really helpful. The more you speak Hebrew, the more comfortable you feel with the language. I’m excited to continue my learning journey with citizen cafe! Yalla!

I am very happy to recommend the classes at Citizen Cafe, because of the friendly knowledgeable staff and their welcoming atmosphere which immediately creates a great environment for learning. The curriculum caters to all levels, and the enthusiastic instructors make learning fun and engaging. The approach of practicing speaking rather than writing and memorizing proved to work well and helped me improve faster.

Each lesson dives into not just the language, but also the phrases that are common in the culture, which enhances the learning experience.The small class sizes allow for personalized attention and plenty of opportunities to practice speaking and engage with the teacher. Gili was the teacher of my group and she was always happy to help even outside of class hours and answering all questions.

My experience has been fantastic; I've gained a good foundation in Hebrew and was able to read and write from the early couple of classes, and I made great friends along the way. If you're looking to learn Hebrew, these classes are highly recommended!

I have been with Citizen Cafe for about 4 years now and there are not enough words, both in English and in Hebrew to describe how great this community is. I have learned so much and can carry out a conversation without being inhibited. Plus, I have made so many friends from all over the world in my classes. It is truly an amazing experience.

I am in my second semester with citizen cafe and I have signed up for 2 more. The classes are fun, the teachers are excellent and engaging, and, most important, I can see that my Hebrew is really improving, if you want to improve your Hebrew and you’re not going to be in an immersion environment, this is the way to go! So happy someone recommended this to me!

I started at Citizen Cafe three years ago. My Hebrew is dramatically better. But more importantly Citizen is a community of friends. We have supported each other through happy and sad times. And we do this exclusively in Hebrew. The focus is on being able to communicate - Citizen doesn't focus on Hifal, Poal, etc etc.. It is all about just talking. We are in touch outside of class - because we care about each other. We look forward to you joining our community.

I am currently in my first semester with Citizen Cafe-and I look forward to it so much. We have a lively group of students and a wonderful teacher. I am learning so much but it's not overwhelming. I've been in other programs which were not half as much fun or informative. I would not hesitate to recommend Citizen Cafe to anyone who wants to learn or improve their conversational Hebrew.

I’m on my second semester with Citizen Cafe and loving it! Fun teachers, engaging program and I’m already having simple conversations with my Israeli husband in Hebrew. The teaching method is absolutely brilliant. I only wish they taught other languages as this is the best language learning method I’ve ever participated in.

They do what they promise - accurate , to the point and fun. Devoted teacher - I love the method. Learning a language is a gym for the mouth. And yes…you get the grammar too 💙🩵

Best teachers, best learning method, best fellow students. There is seriously no better program out there for learning hebrew. I’m one year into the course and I started at level 2/12 (orange). I can understand the songs i’ve always loved, and, importantly, i can speak and understand israeli’s in their own lingo (the modern and everyday hebrew). The best part is, you are taught things from such a logical and intuitive pov, that the more you learn, the easier it gets to memorize things and understand nuances.

I’ve seen people in their 80’s doing this program.

It’s worth every penny.

I can’t recommend Citizen Cafe Academy enough! The teacher is amazing—experienced, multilingual, and brilliant at explaining Hebrew in a way that actually sticks.
My classmates are warm, and the class provides a wonderfully supportive environment with students from all over the world. I couldn’t have imagined how enjoyable an intensive class would be!
Lessons are recorded and available 24/7, and there are practice classes for all levels every day except Friday and Saturday. The website has great tools like updated flashcards and “Practice to Go,” which has you writing what you hear and recording some of your answers, making learning interactive and effective.
Politics are never discussed, and every lesson is approached with kindness and respect. I’ve learned so much and gained the confidence to actually use my Hebrew. Absolutely worth the investment!

Citizen Café Tel Aviv has been an outstanding learning experience. The program is thoughtfully designed, the teachers are exceptional, and I’ve seen real growth over the six semesters I’ve studied here. The new Accelerator program has been especially rewarding, and an unexpected bonus has been the meaningful friendships I’ve formed along the way. Overall, it has been a win–win: my Hebrew communication and comprehension have improved tremendously, and the classes continue to be the highlight of my week.

On a scale of 5 stars, I would give Citizen Cafe a 6 or 7. I am now taking my 9th course and my progress is obvious to me and my Israeli friends and family. I have acquired the self-confidence to speak Hebrew “like the locals do” and it feels great. The teachers are great, the teaching methods and materials are effective and easily accessible on their “academy” website and the classes are fun— each leaving you with the yen for more and more. I’ve tried other Ulpan courses and schools and NONE are as good as Citizen Cafe.

I can’t recommend Citizen Cafe highly enough. Im starting my 7th semester and I finally feel confident enough to speak Hebrew in Israel. The teaching method works. From day 1 you speak Hebrew… there’s nowhere to hide! The teachers are engaging fun and make the learning fun. The practice groups are brilliant as are the flash cards …. Revision of your learning. Definitely 5 stars

Just starting twelfth semester with Citizen Cafe. Making great progress and still really impressed by the quality of the teachers and the excellence of their teaching methods. Onward and upward!
