5 Year warranty was not included
When i tried to have a TV repaired the website would not help and told me to contact my nearest store by phone, then the store told me i had to contact sony myself.
Months of jumping through hoops with sony (trying to solve the problem/ sending multiple pictures and information back and forth by email), sony told me that the TV only came with a 12 month warranty.
On sony centres website it said that it would come with a 5 year warranty plus they even confirmed this in their chat at the time before i made the purchase (i have screenshots to prove this).
Also: Sony Centres are not part of the Sony group, they are just like any other retailer.
They are not affiliated with Sony
They are not affiliated with Sony, ordered a TV, 7 days no update or shipping provided contacted them for a refund, they told me to take it up with Sony, I did and Sony had no knowledge of my order and advised me it was most likely a scam. Phoned the basingstoke center as that was the one the web order was done through, no answer. Had to contact the my bank and take it up with the fraud team to get my money back. Avoid

Paul was extremely helpful with acquisition & delivery of the BRAVIA Theatre Soundbar 9, he kept his word in every single way, very transparent and very patient. Thank you so much, Paul, I hope companies like Sony hires and incentivise people like yourself.
Sony Centre Carlise - Super excellent service
David at the Sony Centre store in Carlisle store is excellent. If you check out their google reviews, you will see just how great a store it is . This is reflected in our personal experience with them. We purchased a Sony Bravia TV on a Wednesday and it was with us on the Friday of the same week - well packaged. It was a refurbished TV so we saved on money compared to a brand new TV . We could not find any fault with it. Although it was relatively easy in setting it up, David was on hand to provide help as and when needed. The customer service was excellent from start to finish. We would highly recommend the Sony Centre in Carlisle. When we come to buying our next TV, we will be looking to return here without a doubt. The TV itself even though refurbished, came with a 5 Year warranty offering peace of mind !
Waxy buds
Ear phones arrived with the buds covered in someone else's ear wax - disgusting
Took over a month just to get a refund

Brought some sony Xf1000xm4 that was advertised as having 3 years warranty. I only brought them from Sony centre due to the 3 warranty as I could get them cheaper elsewhere. Now one earphone has a battery life problem they say I have no 3 year warranty. False advertisements terrible service.

I purchased a new headphone with 3 years warranty but they sent me a Refurbished one without warranty. I can not reach to the customer service. The item was also damage and opened by someone as it took 6 days to come(instead of 1-2 day) by Royal Mail and re sealed by clear tape. I will try to get in touch with them tomorrow.
False Advertising
Spoke to the online chat regarding a product and their advertised 'Never beaten on price' tag on their website. They were unable to help due to not having stock of the product in question but did give the number of the Harrow store that did. Spoke to the store and they are more than happy to be beaten on price. False advertising.
Rude and unprofessional
Purchased some refurbished headphones, and paid £6.95 postage for tracked DPD delivery. Today they were dispatched via Royal Mail with no tracking. Tried to find out why via live chat and got put through to someone at Wembley. They said I needed to contact the branch showing on the email confirmation as it wasn't them. Twice I asked how I could reach the correct branch online and both times I was ignored. I asked why I was being ignored and still got no answer. When I pointed out how rude and unprofessional they were being I eventually got a reply that just said "contact them and they will help". Well I hope so, as clearly Wembley weren't prepared to make any effort in doing so.
Stay away from dodgy business (both store and online)
Nightmare con-shop.
I landed at this store through the Sony website, it pretends to be a Sony Store (uses their logo and branding and website colours and everything), but it's just a bunch of shops under a common name (franchise model). Sony Center Staines Store manager asked me to pay a 10% restocking fee for returning a brand new camera within 14 days of purchase by the way camera is sealed in its original packing.
I wrote 7 emails asking them to provide their return policy which they refused, probably worried of their wrongdoing.
After your money is gone they treat you like you never existed.
Stick to the reliable shops on the high street with clear prices and return policies! You'll probably save money too.

After going to Curry's and finding they didn't open till later on that day, went into staines feeling Arghhh!
Found the Sony Centre, with two elderly relatives wanting a tv, the guys were so helpful, knowledgeable and patient. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you.
AVOID! Buy from the stores directly. ZERO customer communication.
Simply the worst experience I've had in YEARS.
So I ordered a refurbished set of XM4 earbuds, the website stated that delivery would be within 2 days if ordered before 2pm, order placed Tuesday. Item didn't arrive until the following MONDAY and absolutely zero tracking or progress emails / notifications were sent at all throughout. In fact I had to call the local(ish) Sony Centre store to get them to act on it.
But the fun doesn't stop there! when the item DID arrive it was in fact the XM3 model with an XM4 "Refurbished" sticker on the box. They had sent me the wrong item with the wrong sticker, a week after ordering. So I had to call the local store again and am playing the waiting game once more to see if the ACTUAL order ever comes through.
Truly pathetic. I would 100% avoid using the website and shop direct with the stores because there's a 50/50 chance you'll have an awful shopping experience with these clowns.
Oh and you can't contact them about your order. In fact you can't contact them AT ALL once your order is made, you have to speak to the local (they really aren't local by the way) brick and mortar store in order to get any sort of support and 9 times in 10 they have no idea what you're talking about. Communication is supposed to go both ways, but the Sony Centre staff think we're all telepathic.
Website ordering issues
I bought a pair of headphones. They took my money but received no order confirmation. Took me 3 hours on Web chat (1st person ignored me after advised to check spam folder) to identify they had received money but their system did not create the order. I emailed to complain and they came back saying essentially it was a fault at my end lol.
They aren't dodgy, the independent retailers were helpful and I got my headphones in good nick, but they have no idea about their website orders.
I have 1 star as took me 3 hours to sort out an issue. If it would've gone through fine then 5 stars.
FAULTY SONY PRODUCTS & SHABBY CUSTOMER SERVICE
Shocking customer service from SONY CORP for well known defective product e.g. HT-MT500 soundbar. Advised me to pay £33.60 for inspection by Authorised Sony Repair Centre knowing that the PCB required for repair was no longer available and inspection fee could not be credited against a repair as advised. Then was offered £100 buyback on soundbar system purchased 3 years ago for £445. LAST PURCHASE OF ANYTHING SONY FOR ME.
Sony Centre Wembley
Today we received very professional and friendly advice from Tushar Patel and AV at the Sony Centre, Wembley. We popped in to buy a stereo cable, which was very reasonably priced. After chatting we saw a Sony Personal Audio System (SRS-ZR7) which had been reduced in price. AV gave excellent technical advice and went out of his way to show how we could set up the system. We are extremely pleased with our purchases and would highly recommend their service.

Excellent customer service from the guys at the Wembley Park Sony Centre.
I was impressed by their knowledge of all things audio and their attentiveness to the customer's needs. I was allowed to test drive, so to speak, the Sony SS-HA1 loudspeakers in store on the afternoon of the 30th of September
I take my hat off to you chaps. .
I ended up buying the last pair as they sounded so natural and non boomy / resonant.
It is always comforting to deal with highly motivated, knowledgeable and customer focused sales reps.
I would definitely reccommend the store and it's customer friendly staff.
Once again, many thanks chaps,
Dave
