I am using Catawiki for a week now

I am using Catawiki for a week now. IT is a great site, easy to understaand, but the prices are too much exggerated. Even for used items. They treat this site as top-notch ashion jewellers shop. While I as a buyer at an auction need a deal. It is easy to find gold price, by purity and weight, so they must be humble. I have no idea who can buy at such a high level, except majority of deals must be fake.
I will just wait a week or so, before giving up.

Update – Still No Payment, No Timeline, No Explanation

I am posting this update because despite Catawiki’s public response, nothing has actually been resolved.

As of today, I still have not received my payout and I have not received any email explaining when payment will be processed.

Your own notice stated that for successful sales that are not disputed, payout would be made “in due time.” However, “in due time” cannot mean an undefined period with no timeline, no status update, and no communication.

I only completed a very limited number of transactions after my account was reinstated.

One completed order was delivered successfully from the United States to the buyer in Austria, and the buyer left positive feedback. There is no dispute, no chargeback, and no unresolved issue connected to this transaction.

Another shipment involved sending inventory to a warehouse in Germany to shorten delivery time. If this was interpreted as drop-shipping or linked to your blocked-country policy, I still have never been given a clear explanation of why this affected already completed and successfully delivered sales.

My question remains simple:

Why is Catawiki continuing to withhold funds from completed, undisputed transactions?

If your policy is that completed and undisputed sales are paid out, then please provide:

• confirmation that my payout is approved or blocked;
• the exact payout amount outstanding;
• the exact date payment will be released;
• the legal or contractual basis for continuing to hold these funds.

A completed order with successful delivery and positive buyer feedback should not remain unpaid indefinitely.

I expect an immediate and concrete response instead of another generic statement directing me to check my inbox.

If no payment timeline is provided, I will consider escalating this matter through the appropriate consumer protection and payment oversight channels.

Dear Mrs. Kirsten,

Thank you for your update. We understand your insistence on a specific resolution timeline regarding your pending payouts.

In accordance with our security guidelines, details regarding structural flags, internal detection methods, or compliance audits cannot be shared or discussed in public forums. This protocol is strictly enforced to protect the integrity of our platform's monitoring systems.
A decision to restrict an account is final and follows a thorough, multi-layered review of all account activity, connections, and logistical patterns. While a specific individual transaction may have proceeded smoothly, a permanent ban overrides standard payout schedules to cover ongoing structural risk assessments and potential liabilities.

Any official information regarding the definitive contractual disposition or final legal timeline of the held funds will be issued exclusively via direct email through our formal Trust & Safety compliance channels.

Sincerely,

The Catawiki Team

Please avoid it

Unfortunately, I have to write a bad rating. I have bought a few jewelery in the last 2 years - most of them were ok. If you have a bad experinece with a seller, the Catawiki doesn't want to protect you. THE COSTUMER SERVICE CANCELLED MY OPINION ABOUT THIS SELLER. This is MY opninion - it isn't correct. The seller doesn't answer, the item has a bad quality: The stone is moving in the gold socket!!!But you can't do anything. After 3 days nothing happens. A diamant jewelery have to save its quality longer than 3 days. I will never bid anymore!!! Please avoid thus platform!!
My answer for your reaction:
I can't accept your last answer. A diamond earring should save its stability more than few days. This is unacceptable, that you cant appropriate reflect on my reclamation after 3 days. Neither your cancelletion of my negative experience with this seller. The other costumers should have got exact info about their businesspartner. I wrote the seller about th quality problem, but no aswer. No apologise...Nothing. And the behavior of Catawiki in this situation makes more doubt. You don't respect buyers. Just the sellers...

They solicit dodgy sellers by claiming…

They solicit dodgy sellers by claiming to have buyer protection yet when in need of something , they will do their utmost to get rid of your claim.

There is no way of communicating with them or the seller until you pay up ( even the mistakes ).

Apart from not having 30% of the parcels delivered due to the seller not being happy with the money made on auction , any damages or claims will all be against the buyer.

Avoid spending more than a few bucks or at least be willing to lose money or trust.

Spent over 30k here but they were happy to lose a client over a 200 euro claim.

Rubbish 0 stars
Once again they are lying : below you can find their reply !!

For the people that are reading : The seller put the shipping expenses of another client on my name , and as such the shipping company sent both parcels to me & i held the parcel as a leverage . They promised me that delivering the other parcel to the intenden buyer wouldn't mean I lose my power to claim this theft - yet as soon as I obliged , they slapped me with the below email !

My god you people are appalling !!

"""We would like to confirm that we have now received confirmation that Ms Joyce Camilleri has successfully received the bedside tables she purchased. As such, the delivery aspect of this case has been fully resolved.

We also acknowledge your repeated request for the seller to provide invoices and supporting documentation relating to the additional shipping costs claimed during the transport process.
In this regard, please note that the arrangements for the transport of the items from Italy to Malta, as well as any associated payments made to third-party logistics providers, appear to have been agreed directly between the parties and external service providers, outside the scope of the sales contract facilitated through our platform.

For this reason, we are not in a position to require either party to disclose private commercial agreements or to act as an intermediary in obtaining documentation relating to costs that were not part of the original transaction terms on the platform.

As the purchased items have now been successfully delivered to both buyers, we consider the matter relating to the fulfilment of the transaction to be concluded. """

We are sorry to hear that you experienced issues with our service.

Based on our review, you submitted a negative review stating that the item you purchased was left at a pick-up point. As this was a decision made by the shipping company and not the seller, we had to remove the review. When reviewing a sale on Catawiki, you are evaluating a specific seller, and reviews unrelated to the seller’s service are not valid.

Regarding the quality of the item you purchased, we did not receive any proof from you, so we were unable to validate your claim.

If you receive a product that you are not satisfied with, please contact us through our Help Center so we can assist you efficiently and block the seller’s payment until the issue is resolved: https://www.catawiki.com/en/help/most-asked/what-if-the-object-is-delivered-damaged-or-not-as-described-or-if-the-shipment-i-received-was-empty

Thank you, and have a great day.
