A bit overcomplicated
It is a very good game, and definitely makes you think. However the constant back and forth between email, online and printed copies makes it hard to follow, and easy to lose track or miss things. And if you have poor internet connection then it is impossible to complete. Definitely enjoyed it, just overcomplicated

The whole experience was rather fun
The whole experience was rather fun and a provided hours of challenge. However, what became frustrating was the lack of stability of the online requirements.

Great overall experience
Lots of emails to confirm booking, shipping and delivery. Lots of guidance to help you through the clues but the option to not use any of you if you wanted - very well scaffolded! Cool links between information, not always obvious or clear but that’s where the hits are helpful.

Great for a date night
I bought the Valentine’s Day edition for an activity we could do at home and it did not disappoint. There was lots of paper-based evidence supplied and we loved how real the online evidence was and how you could login to the suspects’ emails, etc. The only issue we encountered was in loading the QR codes on Valentine’s Day itself so we had to continue it the following day. There were no issues the next day so we assume there were a lot of people trying to access the site at the same time on Valentine’s night.

Excellent date night alternative
I honestly can’t recommend cases and clues enough, after ordering the same murder mystery twice accidentally I was offered a free one ontop of the original ones ordered, which I thought was excellent, and now after completing our first mystery me and my partner are so excited that we have more to play because it was so good, we had the best few hours working together, it made a change to spend time together without being stuck with our phones in our hands or with the tv on

Great idea, but online elements were a problem
Delivered quickly, packaging and materials were great. The response time to the emails during the case solving was too long and the website kept crashing. I assume after the promotion the number of people doing it at the same time caused issues.

Thoroughly recommend!
Really well thought out, the clues weren't that obvious and lots of cross checking was required to eliminate suspects. We really enjoyed it and will be buying another case soon. I would thoroughly recommend!

Literally the most fun date night
Literally the most fun date night for Valentine’s. It took us a good few hours while we had dinner and drinks but it is so well structured, we were completely engrossed! We have already bought another one!

Online system caused more stress than it was worth
Ordered the valentines pack which was obviously over subscribed. We have a 1 year old so one on one time is few and far between so we were really looking forward to it. We couldn’t get to any of the online content on the night, my husband was reaching out to support and being given answers like “enjoy your time together while you wait”, the experience was stressful and that made it worse. We always enjoy our time together but when you have something like that planned and it’s getting later (already parents with lack of sleep) that was not a helpful response. We still haven’t finished the game as, like I said, finding that time is difficult for us.

Online part needs work
the overall concept was fantastic. I really loved having all the physical evidence included in the pack and using it to work through and solve the crime. It made the experience feel immersive and engaging. The delivery was also super quick, which we really appreciated.
It’s a brilliant idea in theory, and we were genuinely excited to get started. However, the online component was unfortunately quite disappointing. We tried accessing the digital elements using several different devices and multiple internet connections, but we were still unable to view the images on the SD card or access the information from the hints QR code. Pages either took a very long time to load or didn’t load at all.
Sadly, the repeated technical issues really took away from the overall experience. Having so many problems with the online aspects of the case and clues made it frustrating at times, which was a shame given how strong the concept itself is.

Tech evidence not working
All of the internet related evidence and clues were either running extremely slowly or just loading an error page. We also sent off the requested email at 22:13 and didn’t get the reply until 01:17. Due to this it became very frustrating and impossible to progress without some of the evidence or clues so we had to abandon half way through and are yet to go back to it. Completely ruined date night.

We really enjoyed solving this case. The clues made you think which was good. We did this instead of going out and im so glad we did.
