I applied for a refinance through Credit Karma and was connected with Caribou Financial. The entire experience was confusing from the start. I spoke with multiple representatives who all asked for different things, and none of the information matched up. I was told there were no stipulations, then suddenly there were. My credit was run multiple times for no valid reason, which was frustrating and unnecessary.

The process became so unclear and disorganized that I stopped communication because it started to feel sketchy. I do not recommend this company.

It was pretty simple to complete and Darius was very attentive and helpful through the process.

you got me down to more than half of the interest rate i was paying and the 2 month payment vacation was the cherry on top!

My experience was good and ultimately I saved almost $200 on my monthly car payment. The process was very easy and quick! My only complaint was initially the response was that I would be saving a whole lot more money.

I was looking to refinance my vehicle, so I contacted Caribou. The customer service was great in the beginning, and I received the answers I needed quickly. It took me 3 months to follow through with the contract because I did not want to take the 5-to-7-point credit hit. I decided to follow through with the refinancing right before Christmas. I explained to Caribou I was leaving the country for 6 weeks and needed to make sure everything was good before leaving. Two weeks later Caribou asked for me to make an additional payment due to someone else's mistake of course, so I did. Two days later Caribou said everything was complete and I had nothing to worry about. A week later I left the country for the holidays. I returned six weeks later and found out Caribou still had not completed the payoff after 3 incorrect payoff attempts (Caribou shorted the payments due to not applying the correct interest). No phone calls, no emails and no texts at all to notify me what was happening with my account. At this time, I had a new Credit Union account and the Ally account open at the same time and had to make double payments for two months. Also, a massive credit hit I had and additional fees to pay. I had to walk Caribou through every step so Caribou could get the payoff amount correct two months after I was told everything was good. To this day Caribou ignores my calls and blames others for the mistakes they made. Caribou must be a good company reading the reviews but were horrible for me.

We got approved, but we’re having a hard time connecting with the people to send the money for our payments every month it’s been two weeks!!!! We have called the company two times and was put on hold for almost an hour both times !! The woman that we’ve been working with has been wonderful at Caribou.. I should have put it with the one star not the five star

No body at Carabou told me about the $799 processing. It showed up in the contract I had to sign and the monthly payment I was given of $718 rose like $5. I still signed it but increased my principle by that amount. Im not happy about it.

Very quick and easy process

Caribou helped me secure a fantastic refinance loan rate for my truck. I can’t recommend enough. They were able to give me multiple options for repayment and helped me save almost $4,000 in interest from my current loan. They basically hold your hand every step of the way and are incredibly communicative.
