The worst customer service ever!

Trying to cancel an Adobe plan is a nightmare. The page doesn’t even load — and it’s been like that for days. When you finally try to get help, you’re forced through endless chatbot loops that are completely useless. Only after wasting a ton of time do you get to an actual person. Absolutely terrible experience for something that should take 30 seconds.

Misleading offers, overcharging, and unfair cancellation fees

I subscribed to Adobe on 10 October 2023 with a yearly plan.

On 25 September 2024, I tried to update my card details and then cancel my subscription. It was impossible to cancel, and Adobe support instead offered me a “special deal”: 19.66 EUR/month (without tax) for one year, plus 90 days of free usage. I accepted this.

However, starting from January 2025, Adobe charged me 35.57 EUR/month instead of the promised price. When I tried to cancel again, Adobe demanded a 53.36 EUR cancellation fee — even though my subscription should have ended after one year, and I never agreed to pay 35.57 EUR/month or to extend until 2026.

To make matters worse, when I contacted support again, they repeated the exact same “super offer” of 19.66 EUR/month + 90 days free. This is nothing but misleading and fraudulent behaviour.

The promised terms were never honoured.

I was overcharged for months.

Now Adobe is demanding a cancellation fee for a subscription I never agreed to.

This is not just poor service — it feels like a deliberate scam tactic to trap customers into paying more.

Adobe, cancel my subscription immediately and refund the overcharges.

You cannot remove auto-renewal nor…

You cannot remove auto-renewal nor remove your credit card until Month 11.
I signed up for an annual subscription. I noticed that auto-subscription was defaulted to 'On' (Renewing). I just learned this company does not allow you to turn it off. They will not even let you remove your credit card so you won't be charged. They said you have to wait until Month 11 and then you will be told what the new charge is. What type of company operates like this!! Here is the entire transcription of my support interaction with the agent.

"Hello, I'd be happy to help you today, let me first pull up your account information and access your details.

Thank you for your patience. I understand that you need assistance with the subscription charges. I have 2+ years of experience with Adobe, working with customers across industries. I have seen the issue you described earlier with a few other customers. I’ll help you quickly.

I would like to inform you that, we do not have an option to stop the auto-renewal. You will always receive an email notification about the upcoming price increase thirty days before the contract renewal date. The notification includes information about the upgraded price with renewal date. You can make the necessary changes after the 11th month.

I hope this clarifies.

Are you saying that the only way to ensure that I will not be charged another year of subscription is to wait until Month 11?

Yes, we will send you a reminder before the renewal.

Is there anything else that I can help you with?

This is an unacceptable corporate policy. I will be reporting this on TrustPilot.

BE VERY AWARE OF THIS COMPANY

BE VERY AWARE OF THIS COMPANY

They promote one-month free trials for products and then charge you for them.

If I did not check my bank statement I never would have known the charges were being made. They will then charge you a £150 cancellation fee for a trial product they advertised and you never received.

I got the phone put down on me

I always get overcharged and they never sort it out for me. I've rang multiple times in the last 2 months and I get northing resolved. Today I had someone put the phone down on me when I was explaining my issue. I was overly polite to the woman as I've worked in customer service before so I find it appalling. I feel I ring up and get no help.

Charged me automatically even after I …

Charged me automatically even after I tried unsuccessfully to remove my credit card info.
Finally, after contacting customer support, they cancelled my membership, but I was charged for 10 days without using it!

They hide the cancel membership information so that you hardly can find it.

Scam

So you pay £100+ for a previous CS version just for it to suddenly expire/become completely unusable and with no refund or free upgrade? Huge scam. Not to mention the pointless cancellation fees and overly-priced subscriptions. You never actually get to own the software that you've spent £100s on. Seriously, subscription for an art program?? This isn't a streaming service!
