Caenstone were fantastic in arranging our recent mortgage. We moved house in January 2021and they were able to secure us a fantastic rate under difficult circumstances during a global pandemic with one of us being self-employed and on an irregular income.

They were always available at the end of the phone to update us on progress or to answer any queries. We are happily living in our new home and I don't think we would be here without them.

For foreign citizens working in the UK, like us, it can be a real challenge to understand mortgage requirements and find the best deal available on the market. Fortunately, we heard about Tom's mortgage advisory services from a friend.

In general, flat buying is not the easiest thing though. The fact that you have enough money and the seller accepts your offer does not necessarily means you bought the flat. There are numerous obstacles in the way such as cladding reports, incomplete documentation of the properties, undervaluation etc. If a buyer does not have the right people to advise, in some cases it's almost impossible to manage and deal just falls through.

We have experienced all these things. It took us a 20 months and four mortgage applications for four different properties to get there. Without Tom's expertise, work ethic and empathy, I don't think we could have ever bought this flat where we live now.

I have used Tom for my first house, my renewal with a new mortgage company and now a new house purchase. Tom is communicative, well informed on the market and is able to help discuss the pros and cons of shortlisted deals. I intend to use Tom for all my mortgage renewals and requirements in the future. An excellent mortgage broker, Martyn is very knowledgeable and has always taken care of the whole process from start to finish, with a relaxed, warm, calm and professional manner. Being self-employed, in my experience any borrowing often requires jumping through many extra hoops, with more hassle and paperwork. Not so with Martyn on the case - he has taken care of the whole process and made it a very simple and straightforward experience.
