There is absolutely no customer support or assistance as you are going through the aligner process. There is even less support once you are in retainers.
DON’T BUY THEIR PROTECTION PLAN. Get your retainers somewhere else. They promised that they would send impression kits before each set of new retainers but after I paid for the service they now want me to go to my dentist AND PAY MY DENTIST MYSELF for a 3D scans to make new retainers!
I've been having problems with my Byte plan for months now and they just keep giving me the run around to avoid accountability. This company is a scam, do not buy!!!!
They will tell you they acknowledge the problem then follow this procedure:
Ask for pictures
Tell you to wait 14 days to see if the problem goes away
Ask for pictures
Tell you to wait 14 days to see if the problem goes away
Ask for pictures
Tell you to wait 14 days to see if the problem goes away
This could go on for years (likely until they go bankrupt because they are already facing a lawsuit and have had their Better Business Bureau certification revoked)
They will do anything to avoid accountability.
My Aligners never fit properly always slipped off. So I complained, had to send in pictures MANY freaking times. No new impression, just pictures(so many). Was told I would get new ones for the ones that didn’t fit. Never was delivered, waited a few months, contacted them and was told shipment was lost. So I had to do the WHOLE process over again, pictures and all. Finally got it a couple of weeks later. Still didn’t fit. Now my app is stuck on , we are fixing your aligners. So I can’t even use the app in the proper way. And to get a hold of anyone is ridiculous. Hate byte. I want a refund but it seems that they don’t do that.
They sent me aligners that never fit properly — from the very beginning there was a huge gap between my front teeth that never closed, even after finishing the entire treatment. I followed everything exactly, wore them day and night, and when I told them it wasn’t working, they made me go back 6 steps and do it all over again. Another full year went by — still no results.
Now they’re dragging me through more emails asking for photos, trying to avoid responsibility. I’ve asked for a new impression kit and aligners because clearly mine were made wrong from the start. I’m done being patient.
I live in Massachusetts and I will be filing in small claims court, where I’m legally allowed to sue despite their arbitration clause. I’m also contacting the Attorney General and the BBB. This is false advertising and a breach of contract.
I regret trusting this company and I hope others think twice before going through what I’ve been through.

The salesperson was incredible but the actual product experience left a lot to be desired. The app often resets the schedule which led to repeating steps if you went with the app's schedule instead of the prescribed (the app made you move through steps quicker than prescribed, prematurely starting new aligners).
When the company had to work through issues with FDA in winter of 2024 and stopped processing orders/new retainers during that time, no one in support knew how to (or were willing) to pause payments until new products were received. Terribly incompetent. But you get the quality you pay for when you could just go with someone more reputable like Invisalign.

Complete SCAM!! They took my money but refuse to provide treatment. DO NOT give them your money it's a scam!!

I did everything I was suppose to do and my teeth are not straight. They requested a second set of impressions which I gladly provided. Then they wanted additional items, such as x-rays and a mouth scan, that they stated could come from a dentist. I was disappointed since this was supposed to be all from home but still tried to get what they wanted. After talking to 7 local dentist and my local orthodontist, I let Byte know none of the the practices near me would scan my mouth without using their aligner company. So I provided the x-rays I had and told them about the scan and was told I won't be able to move forward. So i paid 2,000 for nothing.

Honestly, it’s a waste of time and it’s impossible to speak to anyone. My dentist says that my teeth haven’t shifted properly and I wish I wouldn’t have gone through the company because I’m out money. I’ll probably never get my money back but take my advice and just steer clear!

My treatment didn't work. Not only that but I have serious dental issues as a result of using the aligners. The straightening device broke. When my treatment didn't work I was told to do new impressions. After doing the impressions 5 times I asked for a refund. They told me the only way I can get a refund is to see a Dentist who will have to fill out numerous forms and give a detailed explanation as to why I can't continue treatment. I called Allegro Bank to see if I could just stop paying for services I am not receiving. They sent me a letter stating that I had received full service so no refund. It is impossible I received full service because included in that charge was retainers. Which obviously I didn't get as my teeth never straightened. Horrible experience. There isn't enough room for details. I am seeking a full refund but so are many other customers.

Refuse to provide me the products and services I have already paid for. Changed their policy without providing a new Terms and Service for customers/patients to approve. Withholding all future service due to discrimination against my disabled/no-income status. Refuses to refund me for the service they are unwilling to provide.

My daughter completed Byte’s aligner treatment and followed all the instructions, including wearing her retainers for 22 hours a day for the first two weeks. Despite this, the retainers broke shortly after she started using them. When we reached out for support, the clinical team questioned her compliance and ultimately refused to replace the retainers, saying she voided the lifetime warranty.
This feels like a clear attempt to avoid responsibility. It’s extremely frustrating that they assume customer error without proof, despite clear communication that she followed all instructions. Beware — their warranty isn't as reliable as it seems, and customer service is more focused on blame than solutions.
Reply to their response 5/13/2025: My review here is based on the customer service interaction we already had with your team and your refusal/avoidance of the claim. So please stop pretending to not knowing this!

I’ve been trying to resolve an issue with Byte for over a year, and it’s been a complete nightmare. I’ve been continuously billed for services I never received, and despite numerous attempts to get in touch, I’ve only received generic, copy-and-paste responses.
After months of silence, I was told my case would be escalated multiple times, but no one followed up with me. Byte failed to deliver their product, and now they’re demanding that I pay out of pocket for a dentist’s letter—something that was never part of the original agreement. This seems like a stall tactic to avoid taking responsibility for their mistakes.
To make matters worse, my repeated requests to speak with a supervisor have been ignored. This company has shown no care for their customers or for resolving issues fairly. I’m stuck paying for services that were never completed, and they continue to avoid providing a resolution.
I strongly advise against using Byte. Their lack of accountability, failure to deliver, and terrible customer service have caused nothing but frustration.
UPDATE: Byte charged an unauthorized charge on my credit card. After being ignored and gaslit by Byte for over a year, my bank ruled in my favor and refunded me about 1/3 of the cost. This company’s customer service and refund policies are deceptive and predatory. I strongly recommend avoiding Byte.

These aligners don't work for everyone. My friend spent weeks trying to get a refund - which they finally did - and now they are making me jump through hoops to stop paying the $3,000 in financing they arranged through Fortiva. Stay away from Byte. They know they're selling an inferior product yet are unsympathetic to people who spend months in discomfort for no results and a very difficult time trying to get a refund.

I was excited to start a journey with my child. I decided to go with ByTe because I didn't know any better and was excited about the process. Things started off ok but this last year the communication has basically stopped or is very limited. You can no longer call to speak with someone and they take up to 72 hours to respond. And to top it off, only 1 of 3 problem areas were corrected despite the guarantee. I want my money back!! I will stick with an in-person orthodontist moving forward! Don't waste your money!

they lacked communication, never answered the emails and when they did they just kept asking for the same pictures. NO CHANGE AT ALL IN MY SMILE. Not responsive, FRAUD.

Stay away from Byte!
The first round I completed the therapy and my teeth were not straight! I contacted them on Instagram to let them know my experience and they blocked me!! I got in contact with a manager and they sent me another therapy but these new aligners dont even fit my mouth ! I contacted them again to let them know and no one will help me . I wasted thousands of dollars basically on a scam.

I paid around $3000, then they asked for an additional $800. My treatment took longer than expected, even though I did everything exactly as I was supposed to. In the end, my top teeth weren't even close to what they were supposed to be. I contacted customer service and told them what was going on. They told me if I wasn't happy with my treatment, then I could re-enter treatment and pay an additional $800!!! They said I only had three days to pay the invoice too, and it could only be opened three times. I have 2 jobs and work 6 days a week to be able to take care of my family, I don't do it because I want extra pocket money. STAY AWAY. You're better off visiting a local dentist and paying close to the same amount! It is not worth it and you will be wasting your money.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience with Byte so others can make an informed decision.
When I first signed up, Byte’s customer service was top-notch — responsive, friendly, and eager to help. That gave me confidence in moving forward with treatment. Unfortunately, once I became a customer, the quality of support drastically declined.
My treatment plan was canceled by Byte — not by me — and I was never given the opportunity to complete it. While I was refunded for the remainder of the treatment that wasn’t shipped, I was not refunded for the portion I had already paid for, despite the treatment being incomplete.
I’ve reached out several times for a clear explanation and a fair resolution, but the responses have been vague, unhelpful, and dismissive. I’m now strongly considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and exploring other consumer protection options.
Byte made a commitment to provide a full treatment plan, and they failed to deliver on that promise. If you’re considering Byte, please be cautious. The aligners might work well for some, but if anything goes wrong, the support you get may not match the promises made before you pay

Teeth were only slightly corrected (crowding). I requested a new treatment based on a new impression kit. They won't send one. Get a real orthodontist. Invisalign is more money, yes, but you get what you pay for.
