It took 6 years to straighten one tooth, and I ended up having to go with in person orthodontic care anyway. My problem was the communication. Messages were always passed along to different people, and each person gave different information. The last one asked me to go and get additional scans and said that I would be reimbursed. They didn't take the scans I got, and I was never reimbursed. Then I was told I was no longer eligible for treatment and they sent me my final retainer.
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! After going through the treatment and Byte’s clinical team determining that the retainers they made for me did not fit properly, they stopped communicating with me. Stay away.
This is a scam. They take your money and run with away it. Damages teeth and coerce you into signing their waiver so they wont need to help or refund you. STAY AWAY FROM BYTE!
First, the good. Byte has corrected my smile about 85% of what they promised. I had mild issues and some crowding and did the night aligners for six months. Now, the bad. I spent a lot of money to include the protection plan. Around $3k total. Their customer service is awful. I’ve requested retainers eight times, I am still using my final aligners from two years ago. They never ever get back to you. Their app is useless if you lose or break aligners. I finally gave up and went to another company to start treatment so icould actually finish. I do not recommend you use byte. It started out well but it’s literally a ghost town and you will not get the service, protection plan, or retainers you were contractually promised.
Customer service is bar none before you pay. After that, good luck. I went round and round with them. They messed up my teeth big time. My bite is weird, my teeth are now completely uneven, and I’m utterly unhappy. I needed minimal remediation on my front teeth, and now I’m stuck with a horrible smile three years later after being promised my teeth would be straight within 6 weeks. Horrible company, terrible customer service, no authentic orthodontist reviewing. Do NOT use this company.
I began Byte aligner treatment in December 2022 for a very minor issue involving one bottom front tooth, based on their advertising and treatment claims that this would be a simple correction.
Instead of improving, my teeth progressively worsened. Over three years, I went through multiple rounds of corrective aligners to fix problems created during treatment. Despite repeatedly raising concerns, I was continually encouraged to keep going rather than being provided a meaningful clinical solution.
By the time Byte unexpectedly ended my treatment in December 2025 when I reached out with more concerns, my teeth were more crooked than when I started, and I had developed large gaps between my molars that did not exist prior to treatment.
When I requested a refund, I was told my treatment window had expired and that Byte would only provide retainers to “hold my teeth where they are,” advising me to seek corrective care elsewhere at my own expense.
I paid a significant amount for a service that did not deliver the promised results and caused additional issues that now require professional correction. I’m sharing this review so others can make an informed decision before starting treatment.

Horrible, horrible experience! Seriously, do not use Byte. Maybe spend a little more and go to a real dentist or better company. I have filed a complaint with the BBB as many other customers have. Been in their aligners for 2.5 years and I think my teeth are actually worse! At best, did nothing at all to fix minor crookedness in four teeth despite following instructions properly. Take my advice and don't waste your hard earned money on this place!
I've had such a hard time with their customer service on so many different levels. I've asked for them to make it right in many ways, all of which they dont even respond to emails on. I would use Invisalign if I for some reason had to go through this process again. It also took 5x longer than they advertised.
TLDR: don’t trust Byte- go with a more reputable company! I am needing to pay to do it all again with a better company after years of poor progress/bad service with Byte.
When I was thinking of trying Byte aligners, they were so communicative. They had someone texting and calling, convincing me and getting me signed up. Once I paid however, the communication really dropped off. They would only reply to big problems, no more proactive communication. The only unsolicited emails I got from them were about urgent field safety review and other alarming signs of incompetence and lack of integrity. I kept using my aligners every night as directed, along with the Hyper byte. However, it kept not working as promised. My teeth would make some progress towards straightening, but then a gap would form between my teeth and the aligner and I had to get new molds and begin again several times. Despite it taking so many years longer than promised and all the restarts and scary notices of malpractice- I naively retained a modicum of trust that the company had good intentions and integrity underneath it all. That is until recently. My aligner broke and I wrote to Byte asking for help. They responded saying I needed to go to a local dentist to make sure it was safe for me to continue treatment. This took a while to get in with a local dentist and get the clearance but when I came back to Byte with the dentist’s recommendation they said I was no longer eligible because I hadn’t completed the required monthly check ins. I am so sickened that this company would take all my payment, and then refuse to follow through, based on a hidden technicality. I am now having to start my entire treatment over again with a reputable local dentist. I highly recommend skipping Byte and going with a local professional who you see in real life and can assess safety and progress and not this shady online scam.
This company are borderline criminals. Treatment does not work. No customer service. Complete and utter scam. Avoid at all costs.
If I could go back knowing what i know now ide never use byte! First things it took almost years to get my second session of trays. Yes I wasn't on top of hassling them but asking many times and not having it come with out jumping threw hoops like a freaking circus money for what they already got paid for to come. At the end after wearing trays that barely fit following exact instructions. They are unwilling to finish the tray treatments. Horrible customer service over the recent years. Lately maybe been trying a lil harder
Yet in the long run its a complete waste of money and possible could ruin your credit if you dont keep up on the payments. Yet why keep paying for a service that doesn't keep their end of the agreement???. Maybe one for the courts in my mind. I have the funds. Not the issue lol. Their conduct as a company. Very very very very very... umm very under par!!! Don't use byte and if they dont work with me on finishing my treatments ya best believe ima scream it from the roof tops and sad to say many will listen to me lol. I started using byte around September of last year, and I can say I had an incredible experience using Byte. My alignment journey is over and I’m happy with my smile. I felt confident through the process that wouldnt be shifting my teeth too much, the pre-dental work I had done with my dentist, plus the 3D models as well as the consultation with the byte dentist was infact really helpful in making sure I had no issues throughout the process. I also like that the app was simple to use in reporting progress and when I was done with the first batch of aligners I could order refinement aligners at no cost because I believed I could align my teeth better. This process requires patient discipline and patience. Shipping periods ran up to 4weeks, the start off process was easy, and it helped that I had spent the earlier months in the year making sure I had no cavities, no dental issues that could potentially get worse with the use of aligners. 1 year later I’m done with all 19 upper aligners and 23 lower aligners, ordered my retainer and never been happier to have went this route. Keep in mind my teeth didn’t require a dramatic shift, so byte was perfect for me. Also loved the customer service response throughout and I also received a credit to get a 3D scan done to make sure I got the perfect refinement aligners. Love this service so much.
Avoid Byte – Poor Service, No Refund, and Broken Promises
I started treatment with Byte around 3 years ago but didn’t complete it at the time. Recently, I was contacted multiple times by their team to *re-enroll* and finish my treatment. I eventually agreed, paid in full, and was promised new aligners.
Since paying, I’ve received absolutely nothing—no aligners, no updates, no progress. Then, without delivering any part of the treatment, they canceled my case and refused to issue a refund. Their excuse? That I’m “in treatment,” even though I haven’t received a single thing.
To make matters worse, they told me I needed to go to a specialist to get additional scans—which were not included in my original plan and would have come out of my own pocket. That was never disclosed up front.
After pushing for a refund, I finally got an email saying I’d be reimbursed… only for them to follow up the next day claiming it was a mistake and refusing to refund me after all.
This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I trusted Byte with my money and health, and they’ve completely failed on both. I absolutely do **not** recommend this company to anyone.
You changed my contract half way through, my teeth don’t sit right, you demand an orthodontist approval but they won’t bring we have a contract. You won’t send the remaining aligners but also won’t let me out of the contract YOU broke when you changed it half way through my treatment, this is the absolute worst experience over ever had and you will be hearing from my lawyer
I chose byte over Invisalign because it was half the price, and I just had one crooked tooth so I figured it was an easy case. It was hell. Byte is terrible with communication, often taking days to reply with generic emails. They made it impossible for my to continue treatment but no chance at a refund. My teeth did not move even after months of using it as directed. Halfway through treatment the trays were so poorly molded that I could not physically get them on without extreme pain. When I told byte this they just said to "bite down" on the tray hard to smash it on and take meds for the pain. I gave up after that because trying to communicate with them was so absolutely infuriating. It's like the company is a scam but just plays the long game to see when you'll just give up and cut your losses.
The aligners do NOT work. The customer service is terrible. No dentist is following you closely to monitor the progress of your teeth. DO NOT get dental treatment through Byte.
had a very frustrating experience with Byte. Their impression kit ended up pulling out my permanently glued lower retainer, which required a visit to my orthodontist and out-of-pocket costs to replace it. This shouldn’t have happened with a product meant to be safe and carefully designed.
Byte acknowledged the issue and told me they would issue a refund for the costs. That was months ago. Since then, I’ve been stuck in a loop of empty promises and emails saying the refund was sent—yet I’ve never received anything. Every time I follow up, I get the same canned responses with no resolution.
The lack of responsiveness and accountability has been incredibly disappointing. If you're considering Byte, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This company does not stand behind its products or take customer concerns seriously.
Byte promised to straighten my teeth. However, after two sets of aligners, they are still crooked.
They asked me to provide x-rays, a scan, and dental records from my dentist and promised $400 reimbursement. I provided them with the requested information. They did not reimburse me, saying they will reimburse me AFTER I pay more money to "re-enter" treatment. I never completed treatment. My teeth aren't straight yet.
In order to continue treatment, they want $739 *additional* payment, claiming I need to re-enter treatment.

Byte is misleading and does not complete your process. I went through the steps and suddenly towards the end Byte sent my final set of aligners that do not fit. Byte forgot to mention that it doesn’t matter if they fit or not because they don’t care. Mine do not fit. I have reached out multiple times to Byte and I get a automated response message saying they can no longer help me, yet I still continue to be billed by Synchrony Bank monthly, Byte vanished. I get responses telling me to go see a dentist as Byte may have damaged my teeth. What the heck is this. And still being charged for something that was not completed or now may have damaged my teeth? My teeth are not complete either. I feel scammed and taken advantage of by this company!
