Quality of the wood poor and some panels were not aligned correctly, very disappointed

Order and delivery went fine, problem is shiplap panels are not pushed together enough so leaves gaps all over, nails sticking out where maker has missed with nail gun, bowed wood, misaligned panels, wood used for carcass is full of knots therefore bowing, cheap roofing felt. This shed will cost me more money to put right, if I had known the quality would never of bought. Buyers be aware.

Shocking customer service!
This is my second review - the first one was for Graham who delivered my shed and was really lovely and helpful.
You should know - your shed will arrive on the back of a truck in pieces with a stapled piece of plastic naming that bit of wood. It had been raining and I imagine the truck had been loaded the night before and was ready to go for the morning. I was the last shed to be delivered on that day, he had dropped off 3 sheds before mine. So my shed was under the weight of 3 other sheds over night in the rain. The wood was wet through - not surface wet. The wood strips had buckled in places.
Two panels were damaged. I had been delivered the wrong size roof felt for my shed. The window arrived with no handle, hinges or instructions.
I brought it to the attention of their customer services department. I was offered £25 per panel and I could go to B&Q and spend up to £30 on more felt. I asked for the correct felt to be delivered and took a chance it would arrive by the following Tuesday when I was having the shed put up.
I left a week from the delivery day to the removal of the old shed and putting up of the new shed. Thinking I wouldn’t have any issues with actual pieces missing or damaged!
I held off with responding to the panel offering, I wanted to see the panels once they were up. And also the rest of the shed.
I like the shed - looks great. But there are gaps and holes in the panelling which their customer service replied, I quote ‘ I agree that in some areas the finish falls below the standard we would expect. The panels should be smooth planed, and there should not be gaps within the shiplap cladding’.
But they stood by their £50 for the damaged panels only and they sent out the missing window parts.
What I wanted them to do was pay for someone to make the shed water tight, plug up the holes and gaps (nothing to do with the installation), this is how their wood is. I also wanted my window installing, why should I have to get someone back out to do it, because they sent it incomplete?
So what maybe a handyman’s time - an hour? I certainly don’t think that’s unreasonable!
Customer service from BSD has soured my experience with them.
In hindsight would I have used them? No - I would have paid more attention to how the shed arrives and how they deal with issues.
Sam knows I am sharing this experience - I told him via email that ‘I will get the work done myself. I will feel better once I’ve written a review and got it out of my system, I’m sure it will cost you more than £50’.
Not ever having purchased a shed before I would have expected it to arrive checked off on a pallet, not incomplete, not in pieces, which can be dropped, bumped and wet and warped in the delivery process.
So be warned this is how your shed arrives.
You will have a shed that looks good - but most companies sheds look the same anyway. I paid £616 for shed that still needs work, through no fault but the quality of the wood and the shoddy delivery / checking system.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the overall quality of the shed. After assembling and inspecting it, I have identified several issues:

The timber used for the wall panels is of inconsistent thickness, with some pieces being extremely thin.
Many panel edges are uneven and poorly cut, resulting in visible gaps between the boards.
There are numerous holes and defects in the wood, particularly around the heartwood sections.
Some areas of the timber appear blackened, damaged, peeling, or untreated.
The wall panels feel weak and unstable and do not appear to provide adequate structural strength.
Although stronger timber has been provided to support the roof, the roof itself is very heavy and is attached to much thinner timber, which raises concerns about the shed's durability and safety.
I purchased this shed based on the product description and the stated 25-year guarantee. Unfortunately, given the condition and quality of the materials supplied, I do not believe the shed will provide long-term durability and, in my opinion, it does not meet reasonable expectations for quality.

Splits, knots, warping, and bowing are all natural characteristics of timber and are common with overlap products. These can occur due to changes in weather conditions and do not necessarily indicate a manufacturing defect or render the shed unfit for purpose.
Knots and splits are a natural occurrence in timber, while warping can happen as the wood expands and contracts in response to changes in temperature and moisture levels.

If you would like to have a shed with numerous holes and defects in the wood, particularly around the heartwood sections.BUY IT BUT
I'm not advice YOU AS YOU VERY DISAPPOINTED.
The customer service not great at all,the quality it's a very cheap,the floor are very bad , particularly the windows. They been made from the thin plastics material which reminds you the lid if the yogurts top cover.Poor poor quality do not waste your money.The shed is a not strong enough. The shed is moving and definitely won't last 25 years. I have to spent additional £150 on screws and timbers to maintain and fix the shed to hold stronger.
Avoid, avoid....save your money

The shed leaked from 2 weeks in,constant battle from October to June when admitted substandard shed and they would give a full refund on cost of shed.
However wanted me to dissemble shed for return for refurbishment ,at my cost(around 300).
So my 1291 shed has cost me 500 for election a d more for disassembly.
One very unhappy out of pocket medically retired, state pensioner.my advice would be to avoid, it was a battle to be heard!!!

ordering was easy, I was kept informed every step of the way, arrived on time. shed was easy to put up (about 12hrs but I am 76 and the hottest day in June)The only problem were a few minor bits missing, 3 X 70mm screws, the padlock and the name plate. No big deal I had screws and padlock in the garage.

Ordered a shed which stated 5 working days delivery (17 June). Just got a text to say it wont be ready until 27th July

Would have ordered elsewhere if the delivery times were truthful on the website

No emails from the company just a text from forest - the delivery company

UPDATE : Recieved text stating a day and time for delivery - didn't turn up. No communication to say there's a problem. Having to chase up delivery issues myself

I had an 8x6 Shed delivered earlier in the month by Chris & Mark, both absolut Gentleman and provided all the information we needed for self build. I couldnt fault them, Chris was extremely informative and provided lots of options if anything was missing/wrong. I'm really happy and feel reassured about our new shed

Two very nice men James and Darren delivered my shed this morning, they were very helpful and great Ambassadors for the company. The shed was good quality for the money we paid and can't wait to build it.

Ordered my forest beckwood 15ft x 10ft shed at a price of over £1500 have now installed it.To say im dissapointed is an understatement.
The quality of manufacture is appalling ,
.shiplap cladding not fitting
.very poor modular panels not fitting to each other very poor edges shiplap not squared off
. twisted ,bent and broken battens
gaps and splits in shiplap
. sagging /bent roof supports
extremely poor manufacture process
square ends on battens when angled cut is required nails not connecting with anything
. final edges not finished to ensure a good fit
. Had our first heavy downpour today and water ingress in several places due to shiplap not fitting properly at factory.
I am going to pay and make adjustments in order to stop water ingress at my cost.
Would i buy another forest shed NO
Would i buy from Buy Sheds Direct NO
Would i recommend you buy from either NO.
A lot of money spent on a very poor product.

Can’t really fault my purchase or experience, ordering process was easy, shed was delivered on the day arranged. Driver was excellent and drove to the alley at the back of my property and we unloaded it together.

On assembly I found that a few roof fascia’s were missing, I contacted the customer service who apologised and ordered the fascia for me, she explained it’d take a week to get them to me. However, they arrived today, after just 5 days.

Shed is as expected and reasonable quality for the money.

Overall I’m more than happy with both the product and the customer service.

How I have the shed up and finished I can give a honest review
Price is great ordering is easy
Delivery is excellent the driver Roy T went the extra mile ,reversed on the drive unloaded it and gave me some useful tips on erecting the shed .
The erecting of the shed had some issue I found that more information on how and where to stick the Forest badge then for things like the fitting the roof ,I found out from u-tube . I left the shed standing against the garage whilst I finished the fence behind where the shed was going and when I went to pre-paint the panels the ferrous nails holding the ship lap to the frame had gone brown leaving brown marks around the nail hole easily fixed with a extra dollop of Duckback . But really Forest a shed quarantined for 25 years held together with ferrous nails ?
After fitting the roof undid the felt marks down the middle and a hole .Lucky for me the brother-in-law who was helping me had reflected his shed last year and had some over ,so with the supplied felt and the second hand felt made 3 strips across the roof .
So overall not over impressed ,valve for money OK but you get what you pay for

Very easy to order

From initial ordering to delivery everything was perfect. I was informed every step of the way about my order and the driver Nathan arrived on time and was helpful and friendly. The shed looks sturdy. I would recommend every time.
