Incorrect Prices on sale items .......

I stumbled across this website looking for a pan. It was on sale , so I thought " great" . Then noticed that there was an option to pay £30 more for the better seasoned pan . I clicked the button and the price shot up to an incorrect price . I contacted customer services , who said the extra seasoned pan was not in sale - so WHY HAVE THE OPTION TO PAY £30 MORE FOR THE EXTRA SEASONING IF IT IS NOT AVAILABLE ON THE PAN ON SALE . So the website prices were incorrect, and customer services were not interested.

I have the pan which was on sale and will have to build up the seasoning - which on induction is quite difficult.

PLUS

I would not recommend buying this iron pan if you only have an induction hob .

Thank you for your feedback. All the sale items were added to the same ''sale'' collection and unfortunately, our quenched pan was not part of it. We are truly sorry if the sale messaging was confusing, your feedback has been heard and we will make sure to make it clear in the future.

I hope I can reassure you that the pan is fine for induction/seasoning with induction, there are a few things to be aware of: iron pans are extremely conductive, and even more so when using an induction stovetop - you can achieve high, almost instantaneous heat. It is very important to start warming up your pan at a low temperature for a few minutes, this will allow the pan to heat gradually and thoroughly and will help cooking to be even and efficient. It is also recommended to never use anything higher than a medium heat setting when cooking with an iron.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you need any help seasoning your pan!

Solidteknics Frying Pan - no heat distribution!

EDIT: I'm updating the review to say that the customer service team got in touch after this review and were able to resolve the issue by offering a refund in the end. I appreciate them making it right, but unfortunate that I had to leave a bad review for anyone to take my complaint seriously.

Original reivew: I purchased a Solidteknics 35cm frying pan in September 2021. I contacted the company 2 weeks later, citing concerns that it did not distribute heat evenly (or at all) when on the hob. I sent videos and photos showing how the middle of an omelette was burned to a crisp, while the outside was completely uncooked.

The response? It's not possible for this pan to have hotspots, and we just want to say you've seasoned it to perfection! Try heating the pan on a lower heat for longer.

How frustrating. I didn't say I had issues with the seasoning, I said that I'm unable to cook anything on it that requires me to use the entire pan because most of it doesn't get hot! I tried what they suggested, but it still didn't work.

After a few back and forth emails with them going back to the manufacturer with my concerns and being fobbed off I just gave up. I use the pan once in a while now and only when I need to cook something directly in the middle and can then shift it to the edge to keep warm. A waste of space in my kitchen.

So in conclusion, steer clear of this pan.

NB: I have a 30cm Le Creuset stainless steel pan and it heats up beautifully and evenly. I wish I had just stuck with Le Creuset, but was unfortunately taken in by the flashy marketing.

Thank you for your message, I am truly sorry that you are still experiencing issues with your pan and that you didn't feel listened to. Cast iron pans are known to be challenging when cooking on an induction cooktop and can often get uneven heating distribution, this is due to the nature of cast iron (slow to heat up) and the almost instantaneous heat you get from induction. However, this usually can get solved by pre-heating the pan longer and, most importantly, making sure that the pan matches the size of the burner,

REMEDIED AND SORTED

So it turns out the contact form which I was trying to reach them on wasn't working. They apologised profusely and remedied the issue very speedliy all things considered.
I am giving 3 stars as I do think there should be a contact email or a phone number present on the site so that I can actually get in contact with them - circumventing this issue from arising.
Would use the website again after all.

I ordered a pair of Lightweight Black Chino's, they took 2 weeks to arrive which they warned me about. No bother. During that time I emailed them get clarification on how the repair process works should I need to use that service - No reply.

I contacted the company on the day the package arrived to return them (it said to wait 48 hours) - No Reply.

I contacted them 2 days later to return them - No Reply

I contacted them 4 days after that to return them - No reply.

At this point the 14 day returns window is looking like a distant dream, how convenient.

I have just contacted them again today, but it appears the only platform they are active on is defending themselves on trust pilot, so here I am - waiting for a reply.

SO disappointed as I loved the premise, but unless something incredible happens I highly doubt I will use this company again.

It’s a Scam!!

This is beginning to look like a scam been exchanging emails with Heather and it’s now 2 weeks since I ordered pans. Her last email was my order would be delivered today Friday by DHL express but was not sent tracking details, so stayed home all day nothing came. The lies from this company is shocking and quiet painful to endure. BE WARNED! I pray I haven’t lost money.

Mis-selling plastic items as wood and castiron

I bought a set of wood and castiron salt and pepper grinders. The outsides are wood and castiron but the all-important grinding mechanisms are clearly made from plastic. Seriously, why bother? I was happy to pay for quality but these clearly aren't (at least the insides aren't).

It also proved to be very difficult to get my money back and return the item. It was only resolved when I threatened legal action. Again, why behave this way?

Divine organic sheets and fantastic service

Divine sheets and fantastic service! I ordered the House of Babylon organic sheets and they are the best sheets I've ever slept on by a country mile!. They are deep pocket so are secure on our mattress, which is essential to me. These divine sheets are a 600 thread count and are so soft yet sturdy! I love them and will be ordering more soon!

Despatch times are pitifully slow

Despatch times are pitifully slow, it has been 6 days and the courier still does not have my item, it is only a small item that could have been sent by 1st class snail mail and been here already

After several emails back and forth between myself and customer care, including them claiming Royal Mail had delivered, even though they were not the courier of choice, I was informed they were investigating why my parcel had still not been despatched, despite the fact I had paid for one day despatch.
90 minutes after the last communication the courier picked my item up, now I play a waiting game on a delivery window.

I have been offered a discount on a future shop, which I find laughable, there is no way I would repeat my mistake, there has been no offer to refund the one day despatch payment or any actual apology or offer of trying to make things right.

Very happy with the products purchased…

Very happy with the products purchased and the speed in which products are delivered. Worth noting that we've not needed to contact customer services but items that would take longer to deliver (due to being made to order), we were given multiple warnings and we've been really happy!

I was looking for fair-trade…

I was looking for good quality fair-trade trunks for my man that are comfortable and sexy. I asked on various Facebook groups and was directed to this company. I liked the name of it and then found these nice trunks by Rozenbroek made in England. I ordered three pairs and they are really lovely, just right. Simple, classy, comfortable. But one of them had a rather tight elastic. When I wrote to ask what I can do about the one with the tight elastic they replied saying they’ll ask the maker what they can do. Rozenbroek made us a new pair with a softer elastic, which is just fantastic! The customer service was personal, friendly, swift and professional. It was great to converse with someone that understood me easily. I couldn’t recommend BuyMeOnce highly enough and look forward to my mans sexy trunks lasting for a long long time. I'm a very happy customer!

So bad, it’s almost comical.

Unfortunately the service from buymeonce comprises a heady mix of unimaginably bad communication, a calamitous lack of organisation and general incompetence.

They seem to have no idea what’s in stock and/or what’s been dispatched. There’s no way to contact buymeonce by phone and emails could go unanswered for days. You’re unlikely to speak to the same person consecutively and seemingly no one there communicates with each other. Not one guarantee of ‘letting me know’ was fulfilled within their own deadline and the promise of dates for dispatch and timelines for delivery were transparently unrealistic and inaccurate.

I’m not being unreasonable. I’d expect a delay because of the COVID related port delays (if anyone knew it wasn’t in stock) but these guys don’t have a clue what’s going on.

Highly recommended. A great company.

We used BuyMeOnce again to purchase more cups and saucers from the Loveramics range. The cups and saucers are of very high quality and the items were very carefully packed and delivered quickly. 44 Days Before I Received What I Ordered! (UPDATE: Partially refunded)

I ordered a pair of large socks on July 30th, it's taken until September 12th to receive the correct socks. I was originally contacted a day or two after I made the initial order to say that the size I wanted was out of stock, so I could either wait a couple of weeks or receive a refund. I was in no rush, so I was happy to wait those 2 weeks.

Sure enough after those 2 weeks were up, I received some socks! However, they were the wrong size. After a few days of back and forth, I was told to send them back and they would send out the correct size. I was expected to pay for the return, which I declined and requested that they sort out a prepaid label. After 10 days of no response, I emailed again and I finally ended up with a label a few days later. I posted them a day or 2 after that, and finally received the correct socks about a week later.

Overall, I'm terribly disappointed with the company. Karen from their support team was certainly responsive and helpful, but this wait time was absolutely ridiculous, and I'm personally insulted that I was offered no compensation for the hassle.

I wanted to save a few pounds, but I should've just ordered from Amazon with next-day delivery. As other reviewers have said, this seems to be a poorly run dropshipping operation.

UPDATE:

I posted the same review to FEEFO (which they're very active on) and received a large response profusely apologising for the particularly bad experience. They then proceeded to partially refund my order for all of my troubles, which was the kind of gesture I was expecting when there were difficulties initially.

Expensive, unreliable reseller

Ordered goods from the site. After two weeks no goods. Got in touch. Got a swift email back to say they "were pushing their supplier". Followed up a week later and a week after that and ....... with the same result. Have now issued a letter before action and anticipate having to take legal action to get my money back.

These people are great at self-promotion (founded by an advertising executive) but not so great at customer satisfaction, price or anything else. AVOID.

A middle man

This site doesn't appear to hold any stock. When you place an order, they simply place an order with their suppliers. It's a waste of time and money.

What is the point of using this site, when you can just go straight to the supplier? I have done some digging and see quite hefty markups on certain goods that are for sale straight from the manufacturer.

I lost out on trying this site

It’s a nice idea in theory but the company is just a third party seller or marketplace and don’t take any responsibility for the products. So it’s like Amazon but without the satisfaction guarantee.

I’d been looking for a grey sports bra made from natural fabrics to replace a conventional bra, but didn’t realise the one sold on this website was actually handmade to order. I ordered two, and waited a month.

So I was patient and my expectations were quite high not least because of the idea that this would be a sustainable and customer friendly choice. However, I was catastrophically let down by the quality of the item. It’s really like a t-shirt cut out with a relentlessly tight, thick and ridiculously wide elastic sewn onto it. Not only is the elastic made from plastic and completely unyielding, it’s also exposed, which is absolutely horrible against the skin. This is precisely what I wanted to avoid! These types of elastic bands don’t do anything to create more hold, they only create horrible discomfort. While the cup size was okay, the seams were wobbly and the wide shoulder ‘straps’ so loose they just fall off. There’s no give in the material that would keep it fitted, and it’s pretty thin (and about as useful as a Sloggy). I’m a size 10 so size small should have been the right size, but the proportions of this item are completely off. It looks like an amateur job: I’m afraid to say it would be very easy to make this sort of item yourself. I’m explaining all this so it’s clear why I didn’t feel that I should have to pay out of my own pocket. I had to return the bras on grounds of poor workmanship.

I sent Buymeonce a photo of the poor fit but it didn’t make any difference to the outcome. I was forced to wait a week for this company to communicate my concerns with the Rozenbroek Atelier where it originally came from, and that in itself was already stressful. And then it was only to hear that they would consider extending the returns period because of Covid. Sure, I had concerns that I couldn’t get to a post office due to shielding but that’s not what I wanted, I wanted a prepaid returns label because I should not have to pay for something of such low quality. I really don’t believe I am the only one to find the fit completely at odds with a normal size Small sports bra. No matter how substandard the product, they won’t pay for the return. And that really, really puts me off buying things from these kind of companies. I need peace of mind that I don’t have to pay out of my own pocket if the quality falls short.

It’s all nice and catchy that you should buy something to last, but it seems to me, it’s just a selling point, and in reality you run the risk of dealing with unseasoned sellers who don’t have a smooth way of making business. It would be better to go straight to the vendor so you have a bit more of an idea what you’re dealing with and what their policies are. I can’t rate the jrozenbroek.com atelier because they don’t even have a trustpilot presence. I had a look at their site and the bra looks exactly like one of their vests, but cropped and the elastic just added on. This would explain why it doesn’t sit right at all and ends up being baggy around the shoulders and armpits. Sadly, it’s all very well to support small businesses but I lost out on this and I shouldn’t have to! I’m getting burnt too many times - Etsy already being bad enough. I will stick to reputable sellers with a strong online presence, thank you very much. I recently got a reasonably comfortable grey bamboo sports bra from BAM and will buy more of those.
