My review will not be good

I see that many of the "good" reviews are from vendors who were able to get money from Kickfurther to finance their inventory. Unfortunately for me, I was an "investor" supplying my cash to make this work. The experience was terrible for me, having financed over $15K and was returned $11K. How Kickfurther vets each vendor I don't know, but the rate of default is terrible. There are many vendors that receive upwards of $100K for inventory and pay back "NOTHING", and then go bankrupt. I wouldn't call Kickfurther a scam, just a terrible business model.

Terrible investment , Find a better place

Terrible investment
Doesn't follow through on protecting investors
Terrible underwriting practices.
When an investment defaults be prepared to lose everything because their idea of security is a joke.
The personal guarantees are a joke (looking at you G***t O****d) they borrowed $3**** then sell the company one month later and the new CEO files bankruptcy.
They attempt to sue for the personal guarantees and guess what?
No assets found, where did the $3***** of water bottles go?

Financial details of the cash flows, debts, and liens are essential, critical, and standard practice for allowing investors to be informed on any debt style investment.
They do not reveal the company/borrowers finances to investors like any other p2p lender (honeycomb, thesmbx, or any bank) which is a huge red flag!!!!

Any collections they do get, is usually much less and currently since I've ceased all investments I'm just collecting on the collections which is pennies on the dollar (quite a bit of borrowers never paid a cent).

The company uses UCC Lien and personal guarantees which are far inferior (near unenforceable) when compared to first position liens of assets

Take your money to many of the other private investment platforms instead,
There are certainly many who do pursue every lien and have excellent underwriting and you always get something back even on a loss. You can review the company or private party finances if you wish

No further investments after years, ending with a maybe breaking even (if lucky) due to Platform needing better legal protection for investors

Do NOT invest with this platform!

Horrible experience. The protections they put in place for a default are complete lies. They claim they have all these layers of protection (ie. inventory, human inspections, personal guarantee, etc.) and when the borrower defaults they follow through on NONE of these things. It's been 4 years since our borrower defaulted and they've washed their hands of it. No legal action. No inventory foreclosure. No personal guarantee. They just let the borrower walk with hundreds of thousands in funds.

Hi Andrew,

We're truly sorry to hear about your experience. We understand how frustrating and disappointing this situation has been.

Excellent cash grants for companies

I invested $1000 in a company that:
- generates almost $10 million in revenue
- has products in many national retailers today
- the fundraise has a personal guarantee from the owner
- Kickfurther will pursue legal action if it defaults.

It was supposed to be paid back in 2022.
As of mid-2024, the company has paid $0 (and offered to pay about 30% of the original amount).
It previously offered to pay 50% and failed to even pay that.

Kickfurther platform

I have been using kickfurther for a few years now and overall I like how easy and efficient the site is to use. I have elected to slow down my investments over the passed 12 months since there's been a lot more businesses defaulting on their payments schedules due to various reasons. I am still waiting on payments from companies that also claim that Kickfurther is making it impossible for them to effectively make payments. Not sure at this point what is true or not. Wish there was a bit more transparency. Until these issues get resolved I will probably limit my contributions to under 1k per offering to protect my capital.
