Don't waste your money...too arrogant!!

I took my fiancé to Burghley House Saturday 30 November 2024 as a surprise. I had also booked for us a Christmas cream tea and carousel ride.

I had requested a vegetarian afternoon tea for my fiancé when booking on line and on the day was presented with a vegan option which is not what I had requested and paid for. There is a big difference between the two.

There were a multitude of problems on the day which I am going to address though a separate post

I complained on the day and was informed that there was only a vegan option for vegetarians, as the manager was not present on the day I was told to email in my complaint and I would be reimbursed.

This did not happen, firstly my Letter Of Complaint was treated as Feedback by the female events manager who’s arrogant attitude landed Burghley House in court. A £42.50 cream tea costing Burghley House £186.00

Throughout the whole complaint process the female events manager treated my complaint as feedback every time and did absolutely nothing to resolve the matter demonstrating that she has no business acumen whatsoever and highlighting her arrogant personalty and ignorance of the 2015 Consumer Rights Act which the judge listed on the CCJ against Burghley House.

Now what the events manager could have done if she had an ounce of common sense is firstly treat my complaint as just that and NOT refer it as feedback.

Secondly she could have offered me a full refund of the £42.50 for not providing me with a vegetarian cream tea.

Or she could have invited us back for a complimentary cream tea for two. Her lack of business acumen resulted in me having to take Burghley House to court.

Burghley House failed to attend mediation resulting in the case proceeding to court.

Yes you guessed it Burghley House even failed to attend court, how arrogant, because of this the case went ahead and Burghley House were found guilty and ordered to pay me damages of £186.00.

The moral of the story is firstly value your customers, do not be arrogant, always treat a complaint as that and not feedback and do not be ignorant of the law.

The sooner Burghley House go bankrupt the better, how difficult would it have been to provide a vegetarian cream tea?

My advise is never visit Burghley House it is run by arrogant, unprofessional, ignorant staff who could not care less about their customers.
