Brilliant helps learners achieve much higher levels of ability in STEM, in less time, with more purpose and joy. Its content spans algebra, programming, and other quantitative problem solving across math and computer science. Brilliant’s lessons prioritize visual representations and active learning. Lessons build intuition with visual explanations, hands-on manipulation, and concrete computation. Brilliant doesn’t teach how to do something before asking questions—instead, it lets learners try to find a solution before learning the procedure. Every lesson has associated practice sets. For personalized practice, Brilliant predicts the optimal next problem to ask, so that learners are adequately prepared to answer future questions. This includes spaced repetition in weak areas and mixing practice problems from different concepts, so that learners must identify what approach to use to solve each problem, rather than just applying the same procedure to every problem. Brilliant’s courses are crafted by multiple IMO medalists and PhDs from MIT, Caltech, Stanford, and Harvard. Brilliant serves people who take pride in having a well-trained mind—students seeking to excel in STEM, professionals learning new skills or refreshing dormant ones, and lifelong learners staying sharp. Brilliant’s optimized learning experience is not only effective, interactive, and adaptive—it’s also fun. The gamification layer provides scaffolding for motivation and habit formation. This provides another tool to help learners stick with learning even in the absence of tutors or parents who help foster motivation. The content itself is also designed to feel fun—from the pedagogical design of the interactives and problem progression, to the types of sounds, feedback, and haptics as learners interact and progress through levels of progressively more difficult problem solving in a topic.

Absolute scammers
Absolute scammers. Their app used to be ok but has been surpassed by far more effective AI teaching tools. My 11yo son hasn’t used it in quite some time. He doesn’t have the iPhone he originally used it on and I no longer have the debit card. In fact, I can find no trace of an active subscription or renewal notice. I found a transaction in my bank for £80+. I requested a refund, which I assumed would be automatic given they can see that the app/subscription hasn’t been used in quite some time. They’ve point-blank refused to refund it, saying that they’ve got a no refund under any circumstances listed somewhere in the terms that my son (who was nine at the time) agreed to, which reeks of desperation from a company that’s on the decline and wants to grab money in any way it can, no matter how unethical. If they knew they had a viable future then they’d be worried about the reputational harm that would result in this. I’ll now pursue it with my bank.

Shady automatic renewals 2 years in a row after I already canceled. Content is okay. Good for scaffolding progress, but not so deep. After the first year, 260 bucks for nothing. I hope they don't charge me again!

You will love being (self) educated in things, You hated before! Everything is nicely described and visualised, if possible. When you feel uncertain sometimes, don't hesitate to repeat a lesson. It's quite expensive, but honestly this cost less than a lot of our guilty pleasures, we enjoy.

Engaging material, good customer service. Some confusion regarding group vs family plans.
Excellent material, interesting and engaging even for kids. In the science section maybe it would be nice to have something also related to biology/life sciences.
I can only complain about some confusion between offers for group and family plans. I seemed to be offered only group plans initially, depending on accessing from a sponsor link or not. Eventually I was offered a family plan, which was much more convenient than the group plan. I had an issue about mistakenly subscribing from my kid's account and customer service promptly helped to fix the issue.

Best costumer service
Best costumer service!
Helped me with my special request immediately and were super nice too.
My Experience - It's too elementary and their refund policy is awful!
I signed up for this because I believe in supporting non-profit work. In addition, I assumed that it would be a great way to learn Python. I was wrong!
To get the benefit of the learning path, you're encouraged to subscribe to their premium plan, but you do have the option to cancel.
I tried it out, and it was too "gamey". It felt like something my kids would like, and not an adult. I was very disappointed. During the time I subscribed, I had a loss in my family and was responsible for planning the funeral. I simply forgot to cancel and received a notification that I was being charged the fee.
In a panic, I went to cancel, but per their policy, they don't give refunds, even in extenuating circumstances such as mine. I offered to provide an obituary and was told, "Sorry for your loss, but we can't cancel per the policy".
Again, if you're an adult using this platform to learn, don't do it, and beware of their policy.

Exceeded My Expectations
I started using Brilliant because I recognized that I needed to refresh on, shore up, and strengthen my foundational skills in math and computer science. I did have high expectations but did not believe they would be exceeded. The content and its visual presentation has truly helped deepen and extend my understanding and insight into these fundamentals. I look forward to every session and, given all of the other interesting topics, to all of the future understanding the platform will help me unlock. If you need to shake off the rust, fill in holes, deepen your understanding, and expand your foundational knowledge base, you have to give Brilliant a try.
Last thing, in an era where customer service is hit or miss, their’s is a definite hit—pleasant and responsive.

I would give it a negative rating if I could.
I canceled after 3 days because the lessons were unhelpful too simple.
They refused a refund citing their terms of use policy.
I would be very careful about this site, also there is no one to answer the phone posted on their website.
Seems like a scam!

Fantastic customer service
Fantastic customer service! I sent an email and, within 20 minutes, received a reply that addressed my issue. No AI, no case #, no link to pages that had nothing to do with my issue. I'm really amazed -- and happy!
