I was given complete support in migrating from SAGE
I was given complete support in transferring mid year, 3 companies, to BrightPay.
There were some data errors in SAGE to be resolved and Paul took complete control of the issues and resolved them promptly.

Do not use Brightpay Cloud
Do not use Brightpay's new cloud based payroll software.
Having used the desktop program version of Brightpay for a few years, we have recently migrated to their new cloud version since they are discontinuing the desktop app at the end of this tax year. What a mistake this has been. Before switching we were assured that it was functionally the same as what we were used to, however we have noticed many small options that are not available that we had previously, as well as basic bugs in the software such as not being to sort properly by employee number. While the cloud software is functional, it is just so much more annoying to use compared the desktop & connect.
We've had clients feedback to us that they also aren't very impressed with the cloud version, with some basic features missing like not being able to bulk download payslips, no notifications for PAYE due, and more.
If you're thinking about switching to the cloud version before the end of this tax year I'd strongly recommend that you reconsider, as in it's current state it is not up to scratch - especially when you consider that you will also be paying more for less functional software.

No CIS integration planned
I've been using Brightpay desktop for years now and find it simple to use and the support is excellent. However when they moved to the cloud based system, which didn't support CIS (up to recently) I had to continue with the desktop version. The CIS cloud software is a separate package now and Bright have no plans to intergrate it into the main BrightPay software so reluctantly I will be moving to a solution that offers PAYE and CIS within the same package.

Alan was an absolute star!
Alan was an absolute star! I had a nightmare trying to submit an RTI for 67 employees - it kept failing, and we couldn't work out why - so Alan stayed on a call with me for 1 hour 42 minutes, way after office hours. HMRC kept rejecting the RTI, with 3 codes, but don't actually say what the error is - which is fun while trying to file 67 employees! We went through the details of every single one and could find nothing wrong! Eventually had to submit a few employees at a time to narrow down to where the error/s were. They all went through over a fairly long period - until we had one left and it failed! Not for the life of us could we find anything wrong-address(on the correct lines), NI, start date, date of birth, you name it, we checked it - Alan had the patience of a saint - and didn't desert me! In the last minutes - we saw a full stop on a line where there was nothing else, and thought surely not............ But it then went through the submission 🎉
Thank you so much Alan for sticking with me through an unnecessary length of time - and no thanks to HMRC for lack of information to find that miniscule error!
