Highly recommended, with some small caveats
I was recommended BOXT by a work colleague, and elected to move ahead with an air conditioning purchase and install. The website is easy to use and intuitive, simply measure the size of your rooms, and answer some simple questions regarding amount of sunlight exposure, along with the estimated distance between the outdoor unit and the indoor units. You are asked to submit photos in order for the BOXT team to assess the locations that you are proposing the units be placed. I probably went overboard on this, and spent a long time annotating numerous photos, only to find that you are only able to upload a single photo under each of the set categories that they ask for – so this would be something that BOXT could improve I think (or at least let the customer know they will only be able to upload a single photo per category). I emailed the extra photos to support, but these were not passed on, or accessible by Stewart from BOXT who called me to discuss the install the day prior to the installation – Which is my second minor complaint, as it turned out that it wouldn’t be possible to place the external unit in the location I was proposing. This caused some stress, as I suddenly had to think quickly about a revised location, and was asked to send some new photos via a whatsapp message. I was at work, so wasn’t able to take any new ones and had to scramble around on my phone to see if I had any random photos of my house that I could send. BOXT are clearly very busy managing countless installs, but it would be good to have had the installation discussion a bit more than just one day before the install date. That said, I must say that Stewart was extremely helpful on the phone, and was keen to resolve the problem of the outdoor unit placement, and were able to agree on an alternative location for it to go. On the day of installation, the air con units and fittings pack were delivered at 08:00am, and the engineer arrived soon after to begin the install. Florin the engineer, started with a discussion on where the outdoor unit would go, and what my proposal was for where the pipework would be routed (in my case through the loft space above the bedrooms). I assume if you were not confident in proposing how you expected this to work, that the engineer would offer you his advice – but in my case I had already mapped it all out in my mind, and thankfully Florin did not have too many concerns about what I was suggesting. Florin did an amazing job of routing all the pipework in my loft space, and fitting the air conditioning all units in the three bedrooms, which was all achieved on the first day. The second day was given over to installing the exterior unit, and included the arrival of the electrician to do the wiring into the house consumer unit. All the work done was to a very high standard, and any mess was quickly cleaned up. The system works flawlessly, just in time for the next heatwave! I would definitely recommend BOXT, but with some small caveats. I usually do all my own DIY and household improvement, and therefore had a good idea of where I wanted the units to go, and the pipework routing etc. If you engaged a local heating and air con engineer then they would almost certainly come and assess your property and discuss the options with you – Obviously using BOXT this conversation doesn’t happen until the day of the install. In addition, the chat support team left a bit to be desired. I had a discussion with them on the weekend prior to the install in which I asked if I could upgrade the wall unit in one bedroom from 2.6kw to 3.5kw version and pay the difference (around £100 additional cost), and after being passed around a couple of different team members I was told that my request would be sent on to the relevant team, but clearly it wasn’t as on the day all three wall units that arrived were 2.6kw version. But on the whole, highly recommended, and very good service received.
Great Experience
Easy to book an appointment, with plenty of availability, so we were able to get an engineer out very quickly.
Our engineer, Wing Lee, phoned the day before to introduce himself and let us know his expected arrival time. On the day of the appointment, he called again to say he was able to arrive a little earlier, which was much appreciated.
Wing was polite, friendly, and a genuinely nice guy. He quickly identified the problem with our Google Nest Heat Link and replaced the faulty unit without any fuss.
We're extremely pleased with the service and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
A second terrible experience with Boxt
I used Boxt for a solar and battery install a few years ago. It was largely a bad experience, but eventually they made things right and so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I then booked them again for an aircon install.
This has been a complete disaster. They took over £6,000 of my money immediately and booked an install date for a few weeks later.
This date was cancelled at very short notice, apparently due to "engineer availability". It was then rebooked for a couple of months later.
Needless to say, that date was also cancelled. Apparently this time it was because they had an engineer but not any aircon units.
As an alternative, they wanted to delay my installation another month and use lower quality (and cheaper) products instead. The discount they offered me was nowhere near the price difference between what I had ordered and what they proposed to install.
Obviously I cancelled. I contacted a local installer - who not only had the products I had actually ordered in stock (despite Boxt telling me that there was none in the whole of the UK), the install price was also significantly lower than the Boxt price had been. And I don't have to wait months.
It's a slick ordering process, but two separate experiences across two different product types tells me that you just can't rely on this company at all. The fact that they always call from random mobile numbers, and you can never speak to the same person twice, is also a red flag for me.
I'd strongly suggested avoiding them entirely.
Fantastic service – stress-free boiler conversion!
I recently used BOXT to convert my old standard boiler system to a new combi boiler, and the entire experience was brilliant.
Their pricing was unbeatable compared to every other heating company I looked into, making it an easy choice. The installation was handled by our engineer, Paul, who was excellent. He arrived exactly on time and completed the entire job within the promised 2-day timeframe.
I was particularly impressed by how neat and tidy he kept the house throughout the process; he took the time to cover all the necessary areas to keep everything protected.
I am so happy I went with BOXT for this conversion. If you are looking for a professional, reliable, and well-priced service, I highly recommend them!

Easy Boiler Replacement
Good and quick which I really wanted. Very knowledgable engineer who was polite and clean. Much cheaper than the likes of British Gas. Easy to keep in contact to find out what was going on. I'm hoping I will get the refund as the Magna clean did not need doing although already paid for.

Not a very nice company at all
Not a very nice company at all. So first and foremost when you book or pay for a new Boxt installation it will not be a Boxt employee who will do the installation rather 3rd party engineering who’s struggling for there own work so will sub contract to Boxt. Check your order if any lines are missing from the order but should be fitted to mi regs will be chargeable after install. They will push a hell of a lot of “do the work yourself” and try to explain a qualified gas engineers job for you yo do yourself. If you refuse they will charge you a call fee to fix whatever problem they have caused on install. I strongly suggest checking for any leaks and that all components are working on the system as if you get a rough 3rd party engineer who breaks any of the parts on your exsisting system Boxt will simply say they didn’t fit it and this will then be another cost to yourself a lot more sneaky trick go on behind the scenes as well such as they may sell you a Meagan cleanse not perform this correctly which will agitate the sludge in the system. They will then tell you it’s no fault of there’s and will charge you another 550 for a power flush and again they will blame your system. Please think before using this company I’ve had to do this to customers myself when I was there avoid at all costs it’s not worth the agro
