I have been a member of Borrow My Doggy for six months. I joined in order to gain dog-walking experience before becoming a dog walker.
I did not have many responses when I messaged dog owners initially but after researching dog training techniques and writing messages relevant to individual dog owners, I'm now walking nine dogs.
Some dog owners treat you like their staff, which is an entertaining experience but mostly I have found owners to be very polite and grateful for the help. It's a great way to meet interesting people.
Be sure to meet up in a park local to you and carefully observe how the dog and owner interact with other dogs and members of the public before committing to walking the dog.
The Borrow My Doggy App is a very user friendly.

We used BorrowMyDoggy and found a lovely couple who supported our dog, Didi when we were at work. They were lovely people and we are now ready to try again.

This has been a god send to me, giving me exercise, canine companionship and friendships, after losing our dog and not being in a position to rescue another at the time. I have now walked 6 different dogs over this time and all have been lovely. I would just recommend getting to know each dog well first before allowing them off lead. A whistle has also proved very successful.xx

I feel we were very lucky in finding a perfect match so quickly. It has been invaluable, as we are not in a position to have a full time dog, but the support and stability that it gives my son is invaluable. It was so simple and I assumed that there would be a lot of red tape, but the contract is really between owner and borrower.

I had no problem with Borrow My Doggie until I tried to shut down the app and come off it. It seems there is no way to do this. I contacted the helpline several times and no one has got back to me. It has really become an annoyance.

Was surprised by a) the low price and b) how many dogs there were local to us! We found one immediately and my son and I walk him regularly. Great website.

What a fantastic idea this is. My large doggy was hard to handle and didnt want anyone to be responsible for her so I didn't end up using the service , but great communication

Very good way to be introduced to people nearby who may be keen to take our dog for a walk. We have started a relationship with a local
couple and all seems to be going well.

Very reassuring that you know your dog is going to be in very safe hands while you are at work.

Hidden subscription fee of over £50. Crazy work from this website/App. Wonder what they use the money for

I was recommended borrow my doggy from my Aunt, who got a lovely normal women straight away!
The first lady I got talked about self harm alot and I couldnt get her out my house for 4 and a half hours.
Other lady sent me a go fund me link trying to get money for a schizo defective disorder treatment!
A man i got was confused thinking it was a dogging site and messaged me ending it as his wife had found out and he told me he had to leave the site.
Now I realise, yes these people are police checked but that doesnt cover serious mental illnesses n well I just dont know how to explain the dogging situation, I was left confused!
Dont use it please, I was single and pregnant and I dont think it was safe.

I used BorrowMyDoggy to fill a gap in my life when I said goodbye to my dog. I was easily able to find lovely dogs to walk when I can but I also know that I am helping their owners out when they are busy. It is coming up to a year since I joined and I now have a couple of lovely Labradors I walk and look after and two little Jack Russell crosses who I take out most days. I recommend anyone who would like a dog in their life but can't have one permanently to try it out.

It took about 6 weeks for anyone to answer my requests to walk a dog, as most had not paid the premium to be able to communicate with people.
I felt one or two people were looking for more than the group is set up to offer, ie quite a lot of free dog care and walks.
I have at last found a good match which is a friend of a friend, as it happens, and I enjoy my walks with the dog very much.

I live in a small flat and am out most of the time. I can't afford the vet's bills and food associated with having a pet. Borrow my Doggy is a perfect solution for me.
I matched very quickly and love walking a local dog. The relationship with the owner is pleasant and flexible. The benefits of regular contact with a dog include improved physical and mental well being. I'd recommend! 🐕

A BRILLIANT idea which benefits dog owners, dog walkers and the dog itself. A WIN for all concerned.
I`ve personally found THREE lovely people who - between them - give my rescue dpg the much need exercise which I (with mobility problems ) am unable to manage.
Thoroughly recommend

complete waste of time. Paid £50 for a year and in that year hardly anyone answers your messages. I had 1 person to look after Alfie for the day and thats it.

I needed some help with walking my dog whilst recovering from an operation. I have found couple of lovely ladies who helped out.

I have found a brilliant dog and owner. I love my walks with him and have been walking him for over 14 months. His owner is flexible with dates and times too.
