Endless runaround, unreliable devices, and no real support

I’ve had an extremely frustrating experience with Blink support and their outdoor cameras, especially the doorbell.

The device repeatedly goes offline, which means live view doesn’t work and motion events are missed. This defeats the entire purpose of having a security camera. I initially thought it was a defective unit, but even after replacement and multiple firmware updates pushed by their team, the issue continues.

Support has been completely unhelpful. They admit the doorbell is exhibiting “unexpected behavior,” but instead of providing an actual resolution, they keep sending me in circles with the same generic troubleshooting steps over and over again.

Now they’re escalating to increasingly ridiculous requests, like asking me to prove what batteries I’m using — even though I’ve already replaced them multiple times with the exact Blink-recommended batteries.

It feels like they are simply trying to stall and wear customers down rather than fix the issue or offer a real replacement solution. I’ve invested in multiple Blink devices and pay for Blink+, but the outdoor models have been unreliable and support has been a constant runaround.

I cannot recommend Blink if you are looking for a doorbell or outdoor system that actually works consistently or a company that stands behind its products.

I'd suggest you avoid BLINK products like the plague!

I hadn't previously visited the Blink page at Trustpilot, but once I did, I saw that I was not at all alone in having extremely poor experiences with their products, and their patchy, and not especially helpful customer service. I was all set to give them a 1/2 star review, but when I saw that their average was 1.3, I felt more than justified to drop to 1 star!

I have an extensive collection of some 11 Blink cameras, cameras: 8 Mini-cameras, and 3 Wireless outdoor cameras.

In order to control the outdoor cameras, you need a Sync Module, and I originally planned to have three. One appeared to fail, no matter what the Blink Philippine call-centre told me to do, so I decided to ditch it, and bite the bullet and buy a new one. Once the new one arrived - and they're dearer than the basic cameras, the previous one that had 'failed' started working again, so I needn't have replaced it!

At one stage I managed to get all cameras up and running, and connected to a sync module, but that was pretty short-lived! I need EE to replace my router, which meant that I had to re-onboard all the Blink equipment. Initially this was virtually impossible!! I was supposedly give the wrong router password, or things were taking too long to connect, and timed out.

I contacted the Philippine call-centre, who are no help at all, since, as with most 'technical' call-lines, they know virtually nothing, except what they read from a card, something which you can do yourself.

When they can't solve it, they start to look around for something else to blame, in my case they were questioning whether my router was outputting on the 2.4 GHz band! It was a new router, and not other equipment connecting on the same waveband had any difficulties.

I'd also emailed Support, and did get a reply from someone who promised to help, and would do his utmost! Needless to say, he soon disappeared on my radar!

Bizarrely, however, yesterday, I had another go at reconnecting the cameras, as the four sync modules miraculously kept a constant connection! To my surprise, whether they thought it was my birthday - it wasn't! - virtually all the cameras started reconnecting when I onboarded them individually, all, however, except a troublesome Outdoor wireless camera. I kept resetting it, but it just wouldn't connect to a sync module, even though this one HAS to, if it's going to communicate with my phone!

I sincerely hope that, if they see yet another bad review, they might contact me again, as I believe that, while a camera, after being reset, should automatically look for new firmware, which normally helps make connection, sometimes this doesn't happen spontaneously, but Blink can apparently force a firmware update at their end.

The amount of time I have wasted with Blink, and the frustration it's caused, with hindsight, I wish there had been a similar system out there. It's bad enough the equipment is SO unreliable, but when the customer support is equally so flaky, I'd say, 'AVOID BLINK PRODUCTS LIKE THE PLAGUE!'

dont buy 2nd hand blink support is garbage

Made the unfortunate mistake of buying a blink camera second hand and since i can no longer contact the original owner and they mistakenly shut down their account with blink without deregistering the camera, the camera is now stuck registered to a defunct account. and since blink support cant confirm that the account is dead( even though it has had no activity in over 2 years) it essentially leaves my "new" camera as an expensive battery powered paperweight. and all of this took a week to sort out.
if you have the choice choose any other camera security provider as support is useless and if you want to save a dollar buying a blink camera second hand you might as well just burn the money you were planning to spend.

There should be a no star option

There should be a no star option, why dont review sites listen?
My existing doorbell apparently lasts 6 months between charging, its made in China so it lasts two weeks then its a day offline while charging
The blink has an sync module that serves no purpose unless you link multiple devices to be interconnected, my current doorbell has cloud or sd card storage with no limitations and is standalone, after purchasing blink I had to throw the module away and buy module 2 to record to usb, so far no fix has worked to allow recording not only that if someone rings the doorbell I can actually drive the 3 miles home from work before im able to see anything displayed from the camera to my 5g phone via a 500mbps home connection, the camera also stipulates it does not like weather and its rubbish at night
I could have bought a bell, I live in a cottage so it would look cool, and spent money on cctv instead
Will I never learn?
In closing, dont buy it, almost all functionality removed unless you pay a fortune per year to do what a cctv camera will do for free

You know those little fake cameras you can buy to make it look like you have a security system? All they really do is keep the crackheads at bay. No real security. Well, if you've spent the money on blink cameras that's about what you have. Actually, you may be ahead with the fake cameras because at least they don't take expensive lithium batteries.

Blink doorbells are useless

Blink doorbells are useless, if anyone rings it you'll be lucky if you even get a notification, try talking to someone through it is useless and the live view function hardly ever works because the system can't do more than one thing at a time. I've lost count how many times I've tried to talk a delivery guy and it just doesn't connect, I literally don't see the point of what these doorbells are for

Incompetent support team

I have 10 blink cameras that are working great. I have 1 camera that has problems. I have had 3 trouble tickets and 2 phone calls with the tech support team over a 2 month period and all that has happened is I have wasted seversl hours of my time, 9 batteries and still have the smae problem as I stated with. I have answered all their questions and completed all their test. The tech support team has failed to pass my request to a supervisor for assistance

Didn't do my homework

I was unfortunate enough to buy one of the Blink cameras while on vacation. When I returned home I found the camera was not supported in my country. When I contacted Customer service they seemed annoyed that I was having a problem; this annoyed me. Their suggestions were stupid and served no purpose. I sent them a screen shot showing what they were saying was false. They never engaged again. I would avoid their products.

The cameras work but only so much..

The cameras work but only so much... it's really not the company for anybody who's serious about having a secure security system. Especially for business.. it's literally worthless for a business. Because the batteries will run out or the clips will be cut short. You have to pay premium, just to be able to get the live recordings. It's definitely not worth the money.

Terrible Tech Support

The Outdoor 4 is a good security camera. The 1-star rating is for the awful Customer / Tech Support.
I lost some functionality just for the Outdoor 4 cameras since I have them with all the previous generations of Blink cameras I own. I was told in June of 2025 that they were working to fix it and other people were experiencing this. As this fix dragged on for a few months, I questioned how much effort was being given to solve it. The supervisory level for Tech Support approved a free 30-day trial of their paid subscription plan which solved my issue. I took this as a sign of good faith they were truly working on my issue. I was forced to ask every month for an extension if I wanted to have my issue resolved. Even so after three months I was told again from the supervisory level that I reached a “limit” to how many free trials I could have which struck me as arbitrary. I have been trying to get an answer regarding whether they really are still trying to fix the issue since it has been going on for 8 months. Called three consecutive days and was told someone at the supervisory level would return my call but never received a call back. Other reviewers have mentioned being ghosted.
The first line offshore Tech Support is adequate enough but if you have any issue they can’t handle, escalating to the onshore supervisory level is a nightmare. If they can’t resolve it, their solution it seems is to drop you. They appear comfortable hiding behind the first line support personnel. My experience is when a company lets their customer service deteriorate to this extent, it is a red flag reflecting its corporate culture and health. I have been using Blinks since the company started but after this frustrating experience I will look at competitors in the future. I don't have confidence in their long term survival.

Please choose a better camera.

I have 10 of these. Please consider getting a different brand. 1. They can't record all the time. 2. Soonest video reset is 10 seconds which may seem ok, but it misses a minimum of 10 seconds to reset and valuable time in seeing what is going on. 3. They do not record every motion. If you have 2 covering the same spot with the same settings at a close distance, 1 may record and 1 may not. They absolutely do not record with every motion even if set to do so with highest sensitivity. 4. The quality in dark is not good at all. 1 of my 10 can pick up at least 200 feet away. But not anything closer or smaller. 5. Never rely on these for animals safety. With 3 of these cameras covering my small back yard, my dog came up missing and only 2 cameras recorded only partially the area and time.6. 1 of the cameras record far longer than the others. All 10 cameras have the same exack settings. I can go on and on with examples. The premium subscription is absolutely useless. If you buy these for protection of anything it is a full and complete waste of you time, money, and possessions. They are a hit or miss, with extremely limited options. Please don't rely on these. I now have lost a completely irreplaceable loved one and can't even see what happened due to these cameras.

Been emailing them since Christmas because I got a new device, only wanted help because my devices we not showing in the app when downloaded to new device. However, earlier in December, I was having issues with my old device and when I got that fixed I had to ask them for help and my devices were there....so where did they go from the first of December to now?

Support Ghosting

My doorbell camera was working fine for several months. Had a subscription. The unit stopped communicating with the hub and I tried everything. Total reset, etc. This is where support for involved and things went sour. They of course were not interested in anything I had already done and had me go through another factory reset. After the 3rd or 4th reset, they wanted me to video myself going through the process and then email them the video. Are you kidding? First I would need to involve another person or tripod, second the video file will be to large to email without some kind of compression or down sizing. So I asked how I would email the 145mb file, when my email has a 25mb attachment limit. This is where they ghosted me. No further responses to the support ticket were replied to. Wow. I was actually cordial with them. So after several total hours of support communication and compliance with there scripted process, all is lost.

Please don’t do it

Please, please, don't do it. If someone knows of a class action lawsuit against this company, I want in! I’ve been using Blink wireless cameras for the last few years and it’s been a horrible experience for the last year or so. It’s strange, but I seem to have the most problems when I’m using my local storage instead of purchasing their subscription. 🤔 I thought it was the equipment so I ordered the newer series 4 outdoor wireless camera and had a free trial subscription. I originally had the blink series 3 cams with the sync module. Everything worked fine until my trial expired. Brand new lithium batteries somehow magically drain within two weeks. I have my motion detection sensitivity settings low as not to get notifications every few minutes. I also limited the motion zone to a small portion of my driveway. Guess what folks, I still get constant notifications and can you believe there are no video clips for any of these, just notifications? Let’s not talk about how a few of my cameras went off-line and mysteriously won’t ever work again even with new batteries have no idea why. Now I am experiencing issues with my doorbell camera. Received several deliveries over the holiday season and not one had a video clip or notification….great thanks Blink. I did not experience any of these issues for the first 9 months to a year after purchase. Even as I am writing this review, I’m getting multiple notifications while I am looking out the window and there’s nothing there. No cars, no people. no wind, moving the trees, no animals. The motion sensitivity is set at 1. Please save yourself some time & high blood pressure don't buy it.

Not worht the money

Nice picture but you can only view the camera live for about 1 minute at a time, then i found out in order to do anything other than the 1 min live feed you have to have a subscription. You can save videos, you cant record live or view anything..i would not recomend this or any blink items to any one...it was wast of money and time..i got it as a gift an cane even send it back to anyone without hurting there feelings ..

There is none no support at all they've like ghosted me

, it worked great until about a month ago they keep continuously recording no matter what social study levels I have now until the batteries are dead which is about 10 hours 12 hours maybe. Called customer support did everything they said reset the cameras we said that we added them to that work for about a day I went back to the same thing now I can't get anybody to answer my emails my requests anything they sent me a new camera which wasn't the problem at all and they want me to send one back. That's all I've gotten and it's been a month now of No cameras working unless I want to continuously go into the batteries are dead which means I have to go through hours and hours of footage to see if anybody has done anything it's in my property and changing batteries every day is expensive can't get anybody to help me emailed multiple multiple times. I don't know if the company is going under or they have a huge problem they can't figure out but I think i have something to do with the new sync module 2 I bought I don't know can't get them to help me literally will not call will not email me back. I'm going to have no choice but to go to another brand but after all those screwed me and shut down one day and now blank has screwed me over at who do you go with no clue

The camera attachment to the mount is…

The camera attachment to the mount is the worst design imaginable. To set it up is frustrating and it takes several attempts. Once installed it is a hit or miss with notifications. Quality is about a 4 out of 10. Nothing easy or user friendly about this. Purchase something else.
