TL;dr
I booked through bikesbooking.com three quads from the rental company "ANC Azores". At the moment of booking, I was informed that ~100EUR will be non-refundable. I agreed to that, it's normal after-all, similar to the booking.com policy. Short after booking, someone from the customer service contacted me, saying that the local company only had 2 quads and asking if that's ok. I replied that this didn't work as we were 6 persons. They replied that they solved the problem and 3 quads will be waiting for us. Imagine my disappointment when I arrived at "ANC Azores", and they had 2 quads, not 3 and in a very bad and unsafe condition. I asked bikesbooking.com for a refund, they agreed but never sent the money. I left this review here and they replied with some nonsense about how it was my fault actually then reported this review. Make no mistake, "ANC Azores" refunded us for the 2 quads we returned, bikesbooking.com charged us for booking 3 quads and kept the money. So this review IS about bikesbooking.com, it's not a lot of money and there probably are also happy customers. But be prepared to lose the booking money if through no mistake of yours they mix up things and can't provide what you booked.

The full experience:
I booked some time ago three quad bikes. When I arrived at the local provider they had only two quad bikes, both in deplorable and unsafe conditions. I was forced to refuse and find bikes somewhere else.
I mailed bikesbooking.com and asked for a refund, they replied that I will be refunded but never got the money back.
The company "ANC Azores" had only two quads. They told us to find a third quad somewhere else, they never proposed anything else. If they would have proposed a third quad we would have taken it because we were on a schedule. Instead, we spent the day searching for a company to rent one more quad. Isn't the whole point of booking online to have an insurance that the quads would be waiting for you and you would not have to raid the city in a desperate search for quads? You and your local provider failed to deliver what I booked. Moreover, the two quads they provided were damaged, oil was leaking, they didn't have parking brakes. Of course after searching the whole day, when we found somewhere else the third quad in adequate shape and saw that they have two more quads we decided to return the previous two... You may keep your fraudulently taken money. I wish I did not make the reservation in the first place.
Also, good job on changing your mind. This was the e-mail from last year:
"We confirm that payment for your booking #52D41B06 will be refunded on your card because your rental provider failed to provide 3 quad bikes you booked.

make sure license B doesn't work for motorbikes
You have to make sure which license type works in each country before you purchase the bike

Made reservation with instand confirmation and a reservation fee a booking time.
A few days later I got an email saying my booking was cancelled because they didn't have any bikes left.
The cancellation occurred to close for me to be able to hire anything else on the website and the provider did nothing to help me get any other service.
This really messed up my vacation plans and left me dissapointed.
They still have not got back the money I paid upfront and they fail to respond to my email asking for help to book other dates.
Update, they have now answered me with an explaination why happened (human error), removed the unavailable scooter and offered me other alternatives.
They still wont recognize that the first cancellation email did not offer me any other alternatives apart from using their site again, which was didn't work since it was to cloose to the rental date.
However, seems like I had bad luck and they have tried politely to help me which made me up the star amount.

Good service
I rented a scooter on Gran Canaria through this service. Everything was OK. Delivery of a scooter was a bit late, but it wasn't a big problem. Guys from support contacted a rental company and solved the issue.
