Extremely Disappointing Experience - Expensive Bike, No Return Possible

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience with Bike24 was disappointing from beginning to end.

I wanted to replace my 15-year-old mountain bike, which I use daily for commuting around 50 km per day. That old bike originally cost me around €800 and, although it was clearly starting to show its age, it still performed surprisingly well. After doing a lot of research and comparing many different models, I decided to make a serious investment and ordered the T-900 through Bike24.

Unfortunately, the problems already started during the ordering process.

My initial order failed because the payment somehow did not go through correctly. I contacted Bike24 support and ended up in a long back-and-forth discussion with their helpdesk. After multiple exchanges, instead of properly resolving the issue, they advised me to place the order again and pushed me toward purchasing through their B2B channel.

I followed their recommendation, reordered the bike through the B2B process, and this time the payment succeeded. About two weeks later, the bike finally arrived.

Given the total price tag of more than €4100, I was expecting a major upgrade compared to my old bike: better comfort, better ride quality, better components, and an overall premium experience.

That is absolutely not what I received.

After riding the bike for some time, my overall impression was honestly shockingly negative. The bike feels less comfortable than my old 15-year-old mountain bike, and somehow it even feels slower during my daily commute. That alone was already extremely disappointing considering the price difference.

On top of that, I quickly started questioning the overall build quality and component quality. Several details immediately felt cheap or underwhelming for a bike in this price category:

* the handlebar grips do not inspire confidence,
* the reflectors feel flimsy and low quality,
* and the pedals already started showing visible wear after very limited use.

For a bike costing more than €4100, this is simply not acceptable.

Because I was so dissatisfied, I contacted Bike24 support to ask about return possibilities and clarification on their return policy. Once again, communication was painfully slow and inefficient. It took four separate rounds of communication and several weeks before I finally received a clear answer.

The final response: no return possible because the bike had been ordered through the B2B channel.

The same B2B channel that Bike24 themselves encouraged me to use after the original payment problems.

So in the end, I am left with a very expensive bike that I do not enjoy riding, combined with a customer service experience that felt extremely frustrating and misleading.

I genuinely regret this purchase and I will never buy from Bike24 again. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them.

Please note that the order was originally placed as a private customer, but the company name and VAT ID were provided instead of a first and last name. Unfortunately, the payment could not be completed, so the order was invalid.
When our colleague from Dutch support checked the status, he kindly pointed out that you should first contact the payment provider to resolve the payment issue.
He also advised that, for future orders on behalf of the company, a B2B account should be created if possible.
This enables a correct invoice without VAT for business customers in cross-border European trade.
I would like to emphasize that our customer was not pressured at any time. It was merely a suggestion based on the available customer data. Whether one orders as a private customer or a business customer is up to each individual. Pricing is the same for all customers.

Our return policy is available for everyone to view, and by placing an order in the online shop, the customer agrees to our terms and conditions.

Of course, BIKE24 is available to every customer as a directly contact for any defects or problems after delivery to work together to find a satisfying solution.

Disappointing Hygiene Standards: Received a Used, Odorous Jersey

I placed my first order with Bike24 on May 6th, and the DHL delivery arrived in Singapore on the night of May 11th. The initial logistics experience was professional and efficient.

However, the excitement ended when I opened the package on May 12th. Among the three items I ordered, the Castelli Climbers Jersey arrived in an unacceptable condition. The underarm area had a very strong, pungent body odor, clearly indicating that the item had been worn by someone else and returned without being washed or inspected.

I immediately emailed Bike24 support on May 12th. Aside from an automated confirmation, I have received no further response or update. It is baffling and disappointing that such a reputable retailer would ship out a used, unhygienic product to a new customer without any quality control. I hope Bike24 takes this matter seriously and provides a fair solution.
[Update]
On May 18, Bike24 processed the refund for the jersey. Thank you for your willingness to handle this incident.
The photos I provided include tags that can be used to trace whether the item was returned by a customer, as well as identify the staff member who handled the return. This information would be helpful for providing proper training as part of a lesson learned.

They receive 1 star because of the shipping and handling.
Delivery can take weeks which is not acceptable in todays standards.

Very Unsatisfied Customer!

I purchased two sets of your Shimano Standard Brake Cable Set.

The package arrived a few minutes ago.

I fully expected a full set as advertised, four cables, the two long ones for the handlebar and the two short ones for the wheel rubber brakes, that's what a standard brake cable set to me means, instead I received only two long cables for the handlebars. This is misleading and false advertising. What are you going to do about it? What I received is not what I expected and not what I thought I paid for!

Ordered, paid but no product being shipped

Ordered May 2nd, now it is May 11th and no movement on my order , the article was in stock and I calles the service department May 6th and they gave me a long story about order volume and that my order should be dispatched May 6th or 7th. On May 8th Bike24 created a ticket with DHL since then no change. Bike24 says on their website "Thanks to our automated storage system all products marked with this icon will be shipped on the same day without additional charge if ordered before 3 p.m. (CET) on business days (Monday to Friday). As a rule, delivery takes place on the following business day."
A very sad experience with promt processing and delivery

Slow to ship

Excruciatingly slow to ship. It took them over a week to dispatch 2 tires and 2 tubes. Of course they use GLS so the shipping itself is also very slow with poor tracking.

Their prices might be good but all in all, it will have taken more than 15 days for me to receive my order. So I guess if you're not in a hurry it might be ok, but if you really need something quick, don't count on them!

Very disappointed with the delivery…

Very disappointed with the delivery service from DPD. The driver did not even attempt to deliver the package to my home. If there is no phone number or if nobody answers the phone immediately, they seem to send the parcel directly to a pickup point instead of actually trying to deliver it. This is not acceptable and defeats the purpose of home delivery.

The order was sent two times.

Im still waiting for my refund and will order from an other online seller which work with an other delivery company.
