My last 4 tins of Baxters over priced soup.. Chicken Broth - rotten veg was found. Cockaleekie soup - soil grit found in the leeks because of the way they cut and prep the leeks. You are not suppose... See more

So disappointing
On a whim as the weather is cold and wet, I bought a trusted brand can of soup for lunch. Baxters Cock-a-leekie. On opening and pouring into the pan it looked like what swills round the sink when the plug gets blocked. Tiny bits of barely recognisable leek, a single potato piece, it was just a thin tasteless grey broth. Such a disappointment. It felt like eating something from a poor house. Awful.

My mother phoned and left a message at Baxter's Customer Support and I emailed them asking questions about their Fray Bentos chicken balls.. We thought as we'd both attempted to contact them, we would have had a response with a definitive answer, but absolutely no response whatsoever....You would think they could answer a few simple questions about their own product, but nothing so far ...I would have expected better from a company like Baxter's...
Fray Bentos Soup
Just had Fray Bentos Tomatoe Soup made by Badgers Foods. The soup was amazing 100% better than Heinz soup. The soup is creamy great flavour only had to add pepper for taste.
Compared to other brands Baxter's soups…
Compared to other brands Baxter's soups are thin and tasteless, they seem to have taken the low sodium, low fat and the healthy option obsession to ridiculous levels.
Baxters superfood chicken and noodle soup
The Baxters superfood chicken and noodle soup; said there was 7% chicken in there, I cannot believe that - a few flakes, that's it. Never again.
They own fray bentos
They own fray bentos, the steak pie maker, I recently asked them a question online, they never bothered to reply to me , this is a garbage company that couldn't care about quality or their customers, avoid them forever.
Drop in quality & taste
In the past I have enjoyed Baxters soups, however recently I have noticed a drop in quality and taste for some of the soups that used to be my favourites, I have just opened a tin of asparagus this came out of the tin like lumpy custard and still had the same consistency after heating in the pan. The worst thing for me was the lack in taste compared to previous soups I've had. I will not be buying anymore Baxters soups.
The most disappointing tomato soup out there
What a total disappointment. Thin, watery, fake tasting. This is the worst tomato soup I have ever had. This is one brand I’m truly staying clear of from now on. Awful, and expensive.
Baxter's Cream of Asparagus Twigs
I bought a tin of Baxter's Cream of Asparagus soup recently. I used it last weekend, and the soup was thinner than expected, and to be honest, the label should have read asparagus twigs. The asparagus was hard, stringy and inedible. When you are paying nearly three times the price compared to the supermarkets own brand, you really should be receiving better quality than that. I wrote an email to Baxter's customer complaints a week ago, and they haven't even bothered to reply. Judging by the comments on here, it doesn't look like this incident is a one-off. Well Baxter's, you just lost another customer. Hugely disappointed.

Baby beetroots now contain artificial sweeteners! Penny pinching in the extreme but i'm sure the 1p you save per jar is worth it.
Buy the supermarket own brand which are far superior
Baxters Baby Beetroots
Wholesome Scottish cooking? - it isn't!
The positve? - it took me back to my childhood
wading through my mother's over-cooked mush!
And the vinegar? cheap, tangy acid
Over-cooked mush that made my eyes water!
Fray Bentos never again
Bought a Fray Bentos chicken pie in a tin while camping in England. The content was shocking. A lot of miniscule pieces of something or other without any taste at all as well as some thin thin gravy also without taste. Morrisons chicken pie was like a 5 star Michelén meal in comparisen. Poo-ha-da-da as we say in Danish
Poor experience of Carrot & Butter Bean Soup
Don't understand why your Carrot & Butter bean soup has so many good reviews, I had it for lunch yesterday and found the base soup tasteless and too thin, and the beans were only half cooked, crunchy in fact! I will never buy again.
Watery
Watery, tasteless, rip-off. Something has gone seriously wrong at Baxters.
I have bought Baxters Carrot and…
I have bought Baxters Carrot and Butterbean soup for a number of years. Early this year the Butterbeans in the soup were hard, as if uncooked, much smaller than in the past, with a silvery striped surface. Eating made we feel unwell. Just tried another batch and the beans are the same, inedible. The overall flavour of the soup is awful now.
GM beans maybe?
Would not recommend this product now.
Garden Soup - need a straw to drink it!
Got a cold so thought I would get nice soup, full of veg. The Baxter Country Garden was one of the more expensive soups on offer at £2.00. Now it is only £2.00 but for a small tin of soup that felt quite expensive.
This is by way to worst soup I have had. It is just a tasteless bowl of water. Actually, that is harsh on water. Water is much thicker!
While it does have some veg. swimming about, it is cut up so small, it has little to no taste. That combined with lack of it.
I should have went for the Supermarket brand which was less then half price.
How you can get it so wrong is beyond me.

If I could put 0 I would .absolutely disgusted by your Highlands beef broth ,if I'd wanted a bowl off waterd down gravy with a small spoon off veg and barley and no meat whatsoever I could off made a better job myself. I thought it might off been a dodgy tin ,butt the second was exactly the same. Disgusting. I bet the people at the top are laughing there heads off

I just had a bowl of Baxter’s cream of mushroom soup and I would say if I cooked a leather sole it would have tasted better!! For goodness sake surely it’s not hard to add a little flavour to it!! I don’t think you are reading your reviews as you have over 80% at 1 star and that’s only because we don’t have an option for a zero star. Come on ! Make a better effort . Seriously! Not good enough!!

Been brought up with Yr tin pies throughout my childhood,no problem at all, I recently bought one of your steak and kidney puddings in poundland and cook via microwave, thought the suet was disgusting, I've been put off from fray bentos for good.
Very tasty food love the soup
