Absolutely appalling customer service

Absolutely appalling customer service. I bought 2 x batteries that were advertised as 'maintenance friendly'. I received 2 x batteries that were described by the manufacturer as 'low maintenance and required topping up every 3-months. This is not, in my opinion, maintenance friendly and details of the maintenance regularity were not provided anywhere on the product page.

Despite raising this with customer service, and explaining the batteries were incorrectly advertised, I was met with a very belligerent attitude and forced to pay £50 to return the items.

To add insult to injury the returns process is painful. To add further insult, it is VERY difficult, nigh on impossible to speak to anyone on the phone.

I will not be using this company again and would urge others to follow my lead and AVOID like the bubonic plague.

Avoid

Avoid. I spoke to a nice lady and asked for her advice regarding leisure bateries for my campervan. She said she needed to go and ask an expert (later found out is was someone from the warehouse). She came back and stated what I needed. I also purchased a solar panel and some cables.
I said I would pick them up so I could install that weakend.
Got there and order was not ready as prearranged but within 20 minutes they had put the order together. I had paid when ordering so didn't have to mess about with that.
I got the batties home and on the Saturday I installed, what I didn't realise is that they had given me 2x 6v batteries. This very danerous and could have caused a fire but also because these batteries were cooked they where giving off fumes.
When I phoned to say what had gone wrong they said it was all my fault for not checking prior to installing and took no responsibility.
Customer service at it worst.

Battery width was supposed to be 172mm…

Battery width was supposed to be 172mm actual battery width 174mm to 175mm even provided video proof using steel rule under battery with 10cm sticking out one side so its obvious, wouldn't consider the video evidence kept saying batteries they checked in warehouse where 172mm, but that wasn't my battery. So have had to pay £25 to return when they provided an incorrect sized battery.

DO NOT PAY FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY

Don't bother paying for next day delivery, and use a credit card or PayPal. They use DX Logistics who simply lie that they have attempted delivery so they can get home early on a Friday. Not that they were delayed by weather, breakdown or road closure. They claim they tried to deliver to an occupied house, with open doors.

Battery Group claims absolutely no responsibility for this deceit, and refused to refund even a portion of the £30+ paid for next day delivery, and simply accept the courier's word without any evidence. Appalling customer service.

From their email:

Good Morning,

This delivery service is up to 48 working hours so this was delivered within time frame for express delivery.

The website states, in case you missed it:
"*NEXT WORKING DAY DELIVERY - This service is available at checkout for a small extra cost, as outlined below. This is not a guaranteed service, and although put on a 24hour service, this may not be met and occasionally will take up to 48hours. "

So basically, they can take your money for next day delivery, and not provide the service and leave you without any recourse.

Fortunately, I paid by PayPal, and they have provided me with the refund of £24 that Battery Group refused (the difference in standard delivery and Express delivery).

Lovely Battery Store in Dodworth

Bought a few bits here this year including an EcoFlow wireless charger that I've been using all year because of my dodgy phone port.

The staff at the counter are really nice to deal with. Overall really happy with the service in-store and I shall return! 😄

Good price and better choices

This was my second purchase from them... Compared to other retailers like amazon, ebay and gfs and eiro car pars, for the same price they offer much higher capacity batteries... I do recommend them

First experience is a bad one

First experience is a bad one, they show out of stock battery's as being in stock, then two days later get an email saying it's out of stock and order is cancelled without even an apology, terrible service, wouldn't use again! Or recommend one to avoid. Wish I looked at the reviews as it seems others have crap service also

Ordering was easy

Ordering was easy, and the product was exactly as expected, however the experience was let down by the delivery company. I stayed at home for the delivery, then they contacted to say that they had tried to deliver, and would deliver the following day.

Was I scammed?

I contacted your sales department after I received a email regarding my enquiry about a battery so I purchased the battery they suggested the battery arrived very quickly i tried to fit the battery but it was not correct battery for my bmw z4 e85 2007 I contacted your sales team who told me that there was a disclaimer which I did not see because I accepted the information in email as being correct so I asked about returning the incorrect battery then started your form filling process which I think maybe designed to deter people from returning products then I was hit with the extremely high cost for return which was around 50% of the purchase price which made me feel like I had just been scammed

Bosch Car Battery Failure within Warranty

Bought a top grade bosch car battery with a 5 year warranty. After about 2 and half years the battery failed. They have been so obstructive in honoring the warranty. I recharged it as directed and have had it tested independently by Halfords and they still just give me the run around. Never buy again from this group.

Truly terrible customer 'service.

Truly terrible customer 'service.
Their website says if you find a product cheaper to contact them. I did this and the (bored and unhelpful) customer 'service' lady said she knew nothing about it and would have to pass it to someone else in another department. But that they would contact me that day or by the end of the next day, latest.
I never heard back.
After problems with another company I went back to the Battery Group and asked about delivery cost. Because the item was awaiting coming back into stock I couldn't put it in a bsket and so couldn't calculate shipping on their website. The customer 'service' team cannot help with delivery cost - the customer HAS to do it on the website (which, of course, I couldn't). They had absolutely no interest in this problem. Refused to put me through to a manager and then cut me off.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. I ordered a battery for £120 and it arrived leaking acid from the terminal. I contacted them but it had been 24 hours since delivery so returns policy was void. I checked the voltage and it was only 11v, so this also apparently voided the warranty. Battery never used, clearly a defect but £120 down the drain.
