Most unprofessional company ever
Most unprofessional company ever. Seriously regret dealing with them. Scheduling was abysmal with zero communication regarding the dates.
Forced us to get special approval from the builder (who was kind to grant us permission to start before key handover).
If we couldn't get the permission they told us we would have to wait for 4 months!! Only to find they had stuffed up the scheduling for chemical injection which delayed everything and they could then find a gap.
They proceeded to drop off the pool to meet the invoicing milestone and did nothing for 2 weeks.
Chasing up many times to get things moving to allow the rest of the booked trades to finish their works. Sent us an invoice for $24k at 3:32PM on a Friday asking to have it paid by Monday!!! Unable to schedule and had to rebook the later trades.. pool was then finally scheduled for handover and they called at 6:30pm on Sunday night to see if they can reschedule... after the handover we thought the nightmare of dealing with Barrier Reef Pools was finally over.
Only to find that the Pool has been installed 90mm too high - this may not seem a lot but it means the alfresco levels are completely out. Not enough percentage fall for aggregate. More earthworks, more sand.. more costs all round.. no step down from the House to Alfresco area - basically a complete stuff up... Excuses given that it had to be that height for concreting etc. which the concreting firm says is just complete nonsense. Barrier Reef Pools ONLY cares about jamming in as many jobs as possible. Zero care for scheduling, communication, workmanship. Did not bother to keep us informed. Lost track of the number of times I had to chase them up and beg them just to get dates that they can finish by!!! I could go on and on... Do not use this firm! Would not recommend at all!
UPDATE: Called to talk with Avril and was told that she only had 10 minutes left today (4:20pm) and would need to call back another day. I.e. the customer is not worth staying back a minute past 4:30pm.
UPDATE 2: Electrican came to site to install powerpoints after handover with no warning and cut the power upsetting electrical equipment in the house that should be powered down properly. Even the other trades on site described it as a complete amateur.
Really I could go on and on about how poorly everything is handled AFTER we signed the contract and paid the deposit. Before that point was great - after that point was absolutely and utterly terrible - no communication, their stuff ups just keep costing you, you will live for weeks wondering if the pool will ever be actually finished, wondering if they will just reschedule you, wondering if the pool will actually even hold water... Wondering if their other trades and sub contractors will actually ever complete their part.. wondering if you will get that pool cover...wondering why you subjected yourself to this torture and paid good money for it also - all up you're looking around $30,000. Thinking you could have bought more couches, TVs, X-Box, Playstation with all games ever made AND done your home theatre instead... and could right now be sitting back watching movies, playing games and relaxing... then you realise.. no you are still dealing with Barrier Reef Pools....and by spending $30k you are not worth a callback too close to 4:30pm...
