Bogus Bumbling Balgores Faringdon - Avoid At All Costs
This is an insurance claim, I was sent to them by SAGA. Based on reading previous reviews I can see why I've had problems with them.
The car was taken by them for a minor cosmetic wheel arch repair, some 3 weeks later and 4 date shifts later, I still don't have my car back or a definitive date of when I will get it back.
You have to chase them for updates, they never call when they say they will, and their receptionist is very good at being evasive.
I can't understand why Insurance Companies are still using them. The historical reviews of bad service and botched jobs would be enough for me to go elsewhere and I regret not having looked them up before agreeing to let them take my car. I'd rather pay extra for quality service than get caught up in this spiral of evasive lies, deception, and delays.
To date(16/02/23) I still don't have the car in my possession.
Balgores Farringdon - Go Elsewhere!
Balgores Farringdon. Absolute nightmare, don’t know where to start. Firstly car was supposed to be 2 weeks and had car for over 3 weeks. However seems that’s was going to be least of my problems!! Car delivered back faulty. Inside of front door practically falling off. Looks likes it’s been repaired by an 5 year old with some blue tack. Tried to upload a video here of it but couldn’t. Every single warning light is on including punctured tyre and faulty parking assist. There was nothing wrong with parking assist when car went in. What makes its worse when delivered these lights would have been on as car couldn’t have been driven the 5 miles from balgores to my house without them constantly flashing and didn’t have the courtesy to tell me when he dropped car off. I only found out when went to drive it 2 days later and had to get a cab. Disgusting state vehicle has been returned in. I will now have to waste time making more phone calls on Monday while I’m supposed to be working. Apart from car inside door looking like it’s been repaired by a 5 year old with some blue tack. It’s also filthy. Seats grubby etc. Hastings should be ashamed to recommend balgores as a used approver and I will be contacting them take them off their list. Car should never have been returned to me in that condition. Really poor quality. I am fuming. All I can say is lucky these people don’t open on a Saturday or I would have taken the car back immediately I saw the issues. There may have been a few choice words too!! If your insurer has a choice of approved repairers. PICK SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
Joy riding my car
My car is currently in for an insurance minor damage repair, LV insurance recommended approved repairers. DAY1
My car only needs body repairs, so there is no reason to be test driven, Yet I can see that my car has done 10miles of trips between various location (MS shop in BP petrol station, a cafe near shell petrol station etc.
I am currently on hold to speak with LV and make a formal complaint.
Terrible service - 8 months and repair not complete
Terrible service. Poor quality of planning and foresight. Lack of customer communication.
My car was sent for repair post a no fault accident in mid feb ‘22 and still hasn’t been returned. I chose them as they are a Tesla approved body shop and both Tesla and Balgores have washed their hands of it. I still do not have an estimated date for return of my vehicle.
The body shop didn’t order all the necessary parts in one go due to poor diagnostics and project management skills and found new parts that were required on at least 4 occasions that I am aware of which led to inordinate delays given supply chain issues. They highlighted at least 3 different and new issues which they hadn’t known about. They had no knowledge or available tools/capabilities for Tesla repair (eg the nozzle for the suspension air cushion, the tools to refit the wing doors) which they ordered after ordering the car part itself.
Their communication with me was non-existent despite repeated follow-ups. One of worst customer experiences in my life. Tone deaf - not even one of their senior people has reached out to me to discuss the issue despite repeated requests and I am fobbed off to someone who had a battlefield promotion as their manager resigned.
Balgores Sudbury
Balgores, Sudbury delivered an excellent service on the repair of our car. They collected it promptly and kept us informed of the progress throughout. The standard of work was also very good.
Car not repaired for six months!
This company has had our car since February . They seem unable to fix it and are completely incompetent . They buy a part every few weeks and run a diagnostic and then say ‘oops I think there is another part needed ‘. It’s just trial and error . The customer service is a disgrace too. We have to chase them every week only to hear when we do finally catch up with them that they don’t know when they can get the car back and are not sure if this next part will fix the problem . Never send your car here !
Dishonest and incompetent
This is the most dishonest company i have ever come across. They damaged my car whilst they had it in their possession and then lied about it afterwards. They do not respond to any complaint at all or even a letter before action. Im now taking them to Court. Avoid this company!

My car was sent here for repairs in the past as recommended by my motor insurace company, after getting it back from a theft of a motor vehicle. I was given a courtesy car from Balgores, and the car took about 4 weeks to get repaired, and once it was repaired, the Turkish guy who deals with giving out courtesy cars called me, and in a abrupt and aggressive manner was shouting at me 'Your car is ready for collection, hurry up and give me back my courtesy car ASAP'. I then replied there was no need for shouting angrily, and that it was not my fault I have his crappy Vauxhall Corsa courtesy car, which I was entitled to. His tone of voice got provocative as if he wanted a brawl. I told him to behave with customers in future. This was a very unprofessional employee at Balgores and a shame they employ such people. I will never use them again because of one dumbass of an employee!
Appalling Customer Service
This was my Car insurance Admiral Approved MINI Garage. Bad customer service! Don’t keep you updated at all on the progress of your car!
Repair work was authorised and it took them a week to collect my car, as there was an “internal cliche” Had to chase constantly for an update and progress of my car, and customer service was clueless!
Unprofessional, rude and refer to you as “HONEY!”
Requested numerous times for a Customer service Manager to contact me, in which they did not!
Asked for a Managers name and they refuse to give me one over the phone.
Submitted a form for their Operations Manager to contact me, which he has not!
Finally collect my car on Monday, when they told be it wouldn’t be ready till this Friday!
Spoke to the Assistant Manager and explained the bad customer experience I have had!
It’s a shame, as repair work was fine, but customer service is appalling!
Will be changing my car insurance, due to this.

There's no finesse in the work. The owner is just greedy.
Do not get your vehicle repaired there. I've been in body shop trade for over 30 years. I've never seen such rubbish quality repairs.

Just to say the service I received from Martin and the team @ Colchester was fabulous. After having my car hit whilst parked when I had only had it a matter of days was very distressing but once I had found Balgores Colchester my mind was put at rest. My car took five weeks to get booked in and five weeks for the small repair. They kept saying they were waiting for parts. If I were head of the parts dept I would have paid for next day delivery of easily available parts like a kuga bumper! But no. They ‘don’t work like that’. Hmmmm. I think insurance companies send work there because it has a monopoly as the largest in the area. I would have perhaps benefitted from a interior valet as I waited so long - but no.😢 The repair looks good though - it was the incredible wait and the passivity of the way they repaired the car that was annoying.

My wife had accident so our LV insurance pass my beautiful mercedes to this awful garage, in first Estimation they didn't realise the gearbox damaged and leaked , the funny things when my wife sent me photos of damage and car i realised some serious problem with engine or gear box because it was oil leaked on street even when recocovery came ,my car it doesn't switch on by key, by the way they kept my car more than 3 months in garage so need all the time chase myself to get update it and all the time the make excuse of parts so that's lies, because they said different story to my insurance, thanks god after 3 months they said to me your car ready so asked them for delivery date so they said we are in short staff so takes 4 to 5 days for delivery then decided to collect myself so we did deive to the garage when i get there they said sorry your car has some other issue behind screen of dashboard, oh my god , how could be dare to be like terrible, any way long story , a week after they deliver my car but full of the scratch on roof and some scratchs on body too because their staff leave the tools on roof of my car when they working, and also behind dashboard shows SOS inoperative , i wish my insurance didn't refer to this terrible and disrespectful Garage, also receptionist quite rud and unprofessional, avoid from this GARAGE !!
This ‘garage’ are an utter disgrace
This ‘garage’ are an utter disgrace. I had to use them when my car went in for a admiral insurance job. I don’t even know where to begin but please enjoy the below it may make your day.
After not having any update for nearly 2 weeks I had to chase what was even happening with my car only to be told it was written off! Nice of them to tell me…They then asked if they could come and pick up the courtesy car off myself they had provided, the next day. This is where it gets brilliant. At 4am, yes you read that correctly 4AM, the next morning I received a text to say the driver would be there to pick up the vehicle at 6am in the morning on a pitch black winters morning. After I was not informed of this and luckily happened to be awoken by the mans Phone call, this disgustingly rude member of staffs first words out his mouth over the phone were not ‘good morning’ or ‘sorry about the time of day’ but to my shock it was ‘there’s damage to the front left wheel’. Absolutely disgraceful I cannot actually believe it even now. After mentioning to the bloke I had barely driven it and as they had no evidence or photos of the fact it was even damaged before it was taken into my possession, said I wouldn’t be signing anything and won’t be paying anything. Hours later they take 235 pounds out of my bank account for the damages and inform me over a text message.
To top it all off the member of staff that came to collect the car at 6am was walking around my property without asking with a flashlight inspecting a car and shortly after he left the police arrived as a neighbour thought he was a genuine thief!
I then called the office and after 30 mins speaking to the rudest receptionist and being told it’s ‘just there terms and conditions’ and that there was ‘nothing to do with them’ I just couldn’t even be bothered arguing anymore.
When I say this company are UTTER UTTER SCUM I do not say that lightly. Please never ever use this company for goodness sake.

Car was repatriated with rodent damage! Well looked after, careful assessment for different sorts of damage,helpful staff who kept in touch, and virtually new ‘basic’ courtesy car. Strongly recommend
