What a rip-off!

What a rip-off!! I thought I purchased a hand made tufted Tote and received a printed plastic bag instead. Buyers beware !!! Would give them NO stars if I could. So disappointed.

Complete scam - do not order from this site

Complete scam - advertised a hand made rain drum - item that arrived was clearly a cheap, factory produced piece of junk about 1/3 of the size of the one advertised. They are not even pretending to be legitimate.

Scam

The company purports to sell Bron's rain drums hand made and tuned in a tin shed in Tasmania. It is posted to Tasmania via USPS (United States) it is nowhere near the size shown in the photos and is obviously massed produced. It also states in the advertisement that it is left outside and plays when it rains. The booklet that it comes with states that it is to be kept inside in a cool dry place. Not fit for purpose. Complete Scam - stay away from this company.

BACKROAD plus other scam ads

Disappointing to read a story about a hand crafted rain drum forged by a woman in Kent as a google ad and then find the return address and contact details were China and USA. Avoided being scammed by check trust pilot and finding all these prior people's poor experiences. So sad that Google takes no action or responsibility when reported.

Backroad Goods Junk

This site does not warrant even one star. A scam / junk site. I purchased a "Halloween lantern" for $58 - TOTAL JUNK! Low grade parts, partial instructions, and no idea the thing had to be assembled ( impossible! )
Not even worth $5.80
Live and learn!

Followed the story of an artist that made rain drums in Tasmania. Went to the link with the pictures and all information. Backroad Goods came up to purchase from. $225.00 for the XXL size. As the order went through and I started to follow the delivery, I saw it was coming from China. Emails were sent, but too late, money taken.

Rip-off specialists

Order from this company and you will received no order acknowledgement (see later), nothing will arrive and when you query this, you will be told it has shipped. A package will then arrive soon afterwards (roughly 2 weeks after ordering), but the contents will not be as described and very possibly not fit for purpose. When you inevitably seek a refund, the first thing you will note is that a proof of purchase is required, which is impossible in the absence of an order acknowledgement. Then you will see that the product has to be returned to China, even though it has ostensibly been 'hand-crafted' in the UK (or wherever you reside). Persevere and you might be offered a 25% refund if you keep the dodgy product, then if you persevere further, 35% and eventually a 'final offer' of 50%. Under the law, if you request a refund with in 30 days of delivery, you are entitled to a full refund and the seller is obliged to recover the product at their expense (no mention of returning it to China at the buyer's expense). The whole process is designed to deter buyers from seeking their legal rights. First, request the refund and persevere. Then contact the bank or credit card issuer to start a disputed payment process. Then contact consumer advice. I did all this and, lo and behold, the payment was refunded, though whether by the company or by the bank through the dispute process, I can't tell. The company will tell you that a 50% refund is all they can do as policy. This is wrong and illegal. (I still have the defective product, but don't expect the company to send anyone for it soon...)

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.
I sadly bought Regs Hedgehog House from here thinking it was genuinely handmade by Reg in Devon and dispatched by this company. It says handmade with chestnut wood with solid floor, removable roof, inside board behind the door and roof that does not leak water and also comes with starter bedding.
This is all false. They are fraudulent company selling cheap goods. It is made from plywood and comes from Hong Kong.
I complained and requested refund as states 30 day money back guarantee. Also another lie. Offered me 35% money back and I had to return to Hong Kong. Lesson learnt. Please please do not use

This is a total scam

This is a total scam. The website looks good until you start looking closely - which I did not do well enough at first. But merchandise is outright fraud. I ordered what was supposed to be a light made of actual oak wood and glass, made in Wisconsin. What arrived was caste solid plastic less than half the height. The product web page is very misleading, with many parts bring untrue - no wood, no glass, not made by a guy in Wisconsin. The return address they provide is in Hong Kong.
Believe nothing.
BTW - I would gladly add photos here but note that I can't because the business has not enabled that feature on Trustpilot.

Absolute joke of a Hedgehog house

Absolute joke of a Hedgehog house. I stupidly didn't look at the reviews. And when it arrived I reported it to Shop and emailed BR goods. Within 10 minutes I had a refund notification to take up to 10 days. They tried to tell me to send it back, which i refused and got my refund today after 4 days. Result but they should be banned

I have reported this fraudulent company to Google
This was their response

Dear Tricia,

We took another look at the ad that you reported TWICE

Our team found that this ad doesn’t go against Google's advertising policies, so we decided not to take action against the ad.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and experience with us.
Sincerely,
Google Trust & Safety team (ironic)
I will not be responding to any Google ads in the future as they obviously are not adverse to misleading advertising

Stay away from this company

First time I buy something expensive without checking reviews first. The item (hedgehog house) arrived after a long time, is not as described, inflated price, emails ignored. Total scam. I’ve learned my lesson!

I didn't want to give even one star for this company. DO NOT BUY FROM BACKROAD GOODS. The whole thing is a complete sham. The artisan made hedgehog house is totally shoddy and made in China. You can't get a refund unless it is returned to China or you can keep and get a 25% refund. Not what it says on their refund policy. They should not be allowed to continue trading. STAY WELL CLEAR.
