Avoid this company at all costs. Worst company I’ve come across. Gave me a faulty vehicle that broke down. They collected in morning as basically fobbed off until gone 5pm which meant I had to cancel... See more

Agent changed our drop off point
Agent in Port Canaveral changed our destination drop off because we were taking a cruise and he said that they had a free port shuttle service from the south beach drop off. Originally, we had Miami Airport, which does have shuttle services to the port. When arriving in South beach the agent said “No we don’t have any shuttle here” I said “ As you can see in the computer, the agent switched our drop off, because he said we were better off going to south beach because you had shuttle service to the port, this is an agent screw up, you should give us, the customer, a taxi voucher”. She ,Absolutely, refused and told me “Go get a taxi or you’re going to miss your cruise”(with a very nasty tone). This agent belongs in a job that DOESNOT ,in any way, deal with customers. She wasn’t willing to help an AVIS customer who had been wrongly treated. AVIS, you’ve lost a future customer and I will spread my review by word of mouth and the internet. That situation could have easily been rectified, but they chose the wrong way, sad!
DO NOT BOOK MILAN AIRPORT AVIS!!!
When I returned the vehicle I was told to drop my keys in the drop box and I was good to go. I receive the invoice and they charged me an extra day, saying the car was checked in 3 hours after my flight departed because that's when an Avis employee checked in the keys. Upon disputing this overcharge they requested a boarding pass (flight from 2 months ago) which they know it's very unlikely I still have (which I don't). Very frustrating. DO NOT BOOK WITH AVIS. Their employees will give you false information to overcharge and they will not refund you.

Rented on recent holiday at various locations. Orlando was the worst. Frightened me into buying extras like road assistance tolls and other insurance, at the exit a guy started drawing dots on marks and next to scratches it was full of white pen by the time we left. In Port Carnaval Jeremy was excellent and really restored my faith in Avis thanks, Jeremy. Baltimore airport soooo slow we stood in line for one hour 20 minutes. Overall cars were average and apart from Port Carnival service was poor and pressure selling made me uncomfortable.
Poor customer service from Avis.
Avis Car Rental
We booked a car online months before our journey. We waited for nearly two hours to get served and pick up the car at LA airport.
We agreed to collect the car with a full tank of fuel and return it with a full tank ie, full to full. When we picked up the car we also agreed to prepay for tolls. The gentleman who served us also verbalised that we bring the car back with a full tank of fuel and was charging for the tolls.
On our way to the airport to return the car we filled the fuel up as per agreement. The process for returning the car to SanFrancisco airport was simple and efficient. Minutes after handing the car back we received an email, they had charged for a full tank of fuel and the prepaid tolls.
On our return home my husband contacted them explaining that we had been charged for a tank of fuel and the car had been returned with a full tank of fuel. Nobody has responded to his emails.
I've used AVIS in Orlando poor service
I've used AVIS in Orlando poor service, hard to find the car park for pick up. car seats are awful...
Avis E-toll Scam
This review pertains to the E-toll service Avis contracts with. I was going over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco with a rental car, so I prepaid the toll ahead of time. There was no transponder in the out of state car that I rented. I received notification that I had been charged by Avis E-toll for $15.35. I then provided them with the FasTrak Toll Center documentation of the fact that I had already paid the toll. The customer service agent claimed that 'an account had been opened, but no proof of payment was shown', despite it clearly stating that the toll was paid, along with a payment confirmation number. She asked for my credit card statement segment which proved payment- which I provided. They wrote again saying they didn't have proof of payment despite my providing two sources of verification. Unbelievably incompetent.
The worst experience ever
The worst experience ever. Me and my fiance rented a car with all insurances available online. We rented it for a month going from DC to San Francisco. We paid a total of 3.100 $ and when we went to pick up The car they said that the insurances that we paid for was not in The receipt even tho that it said (all insurances included) so I refused to pay but than they refused to give us The car... We had to pay 1200$ extra.. If you are looking to rent a car. Stay away as far as possible from Avis. Almost all their cars are damage and they don't check them so if you don't pay attention they will make you pay for it. Avis act like a criminal organisation and the people working there are angry and moody due to stress. I even tried to call and e-mail them but I think it's easier to find diamonds in The grund than to get hold of them...
If I could give them zero I would
If I could give them zero I would. Car has broken down, on hold to customer service for nearly 40 minutes at this point. Messaged them online, nothing back. You can't speak to a human, service is non-existent. There is something deeply ironic about Avis "customer service".
Extra charge after prepaid a car
On the Apr/9th, I prepaid the rental of a car with a cost of $89. The pick up and deliver was also choose to be different location. When we went to deliver the car (within 24hrs), the Avis was closed (sunday). I called customer service and asked how to proceed (i was on my way to drop off at the airport), and it was instructed by the customer service to leave the car in front of the Avis store, drop the key, the contract and the fuel proof at a designated box. So we did. At the next day I received AN EXTRA CHARGE OF U$147 on my credit card. Called customer service, no resolution. Went to the pick up location, spoke with the manager, he mentioned that the drop off charged us one extra rent, and he emailed them, and still no response. Case T2802241D. More than 3 weeks and not even a response.
From start to finish our experience…
From start to finish our experience with AVIS was great. Service at MBS airport was outstanding.
