While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

This is what happens when government…

This is what happens when government outsources what used to be free or at least a physical copy at a lower price to the public to an LLC because every politician is afraid to tax the rich.
Lazy, wonky, more concerned with being greedy than providing a good citizen/consumer experience. You get a digital map on a tiny screen for 5 bucks or more. Not even a physical map. Can't tell what you're buying as they blur out the maps, afraid you're going to "steal" what once was free. Buy it online, doesn't show up on app. Have to buy it on app too. Just a lazy, greedy, "I don't need to be a good LLC, it's for the government after all" type of product.

Holding free map files hostage so you use their service

All they do is hold digital copies of maps hostage. They provide no service, they're essentially a leech on the industry, making it more difficult to find data that was publicly accessible and sharable.

Their app serves no purpose, and just prevents you from being able to properly use map files with better navigation software.

They're a plague on search results that once contained downloadable maps, now are nothing but links to their app, of which does not allow you to do anything with the files.

As an outdoor guide with more miles than anyone at this company, I've never hated a company before this.
