I have tried various web-based audio & video editing platforms and so far Podcastle is by far the simplest to use, its very user friendly and intuitive. There basic plan is perfect for my needs since I only host a unmonetized podcast.
the simplicity of use. From the UI to the tools we have access to. I tell all my podcasting friends to use this tool to save time!
I have been using Podcastle for about eight months now and the ease of being able to record on the fly, clean up the audio and publish to Spotify, Apple, iHeart etc has been excellent! The need to be in a sound proofed room is no more, I live in a city with a lot of background noise and the Magic Dust feature is amazing in removing any distractions, leveling the audio and creating a recording that is crisp, intimate and engaging. This is a refreshing change from my early days working in radio and all of the gadgets and devices we needed to get a perfect piece of audio produced!
It was very good cause you have all you need as well as options to insert and cut out certain things not needed. In my opinion very good
I just published my first podcast. Shout out to Podcastle for helping me bring my podcast to life. It was so easy to use and super user-friendly.
My experience was amazing, it had all the sound effects and music I wanted. My voice was exactly how it sounded without recording, it was just amazing and so accurate.
The platform is not working, impossible to work with, customer service is very bad - overall waste of time and money
They promote so much of their AI features and the ease of use but could not even give the customer a smooth experience. No matter which browser I use for podcastle, it will never be smooth. There were many issues, including audio not playing, lagging, and audio suddenly froze. I just do not understand why it keeps happening. Possibly one of the worst experiences I have had using a tech platfrom that cannot even offer simple and smooth use. The fact that I also paid for the AI premium is not helping either. I agree of the part that it is user friendly for beginners but even if the basic features are not working, how am I supposed to edit my podcast?
They keep charging me double the fees even though my account says I have a discount
They say free test, they just want your email... However the platform is weak
Podcastle is definitely one of the worst platforms to do this kinda of editing out there. You can find many others before spending your money with them. The platform glitches a lot and doesnt work most of the time.
ALSO, they handle customer service VERY poorly, never respond to you, never solve the issue, and DONT GIVE REFUND, even when the service they promise doesnt not work. Please, dont waste your money with them
I used to sing this platform's praises, having been a loyal user for over two years. However, in the last year or so, virtually everything you can imagine has gone wrong with it.
Recordings/projects randomly deleting themselves, a huge (unwanted) focus on using AI for virtually everything (the results of which are utterly awful), and bugs; so, so many bugs!
There hasn't been a time that I've sat down to use it in the last year that there hasn't been a huge issue.
Avoid like the plague. Try some other editing platform (except Riverside, which is also utterly awful).
There are so many problems with this. It gets stuck. I have had to contact them so many times, and they take so long getting back to you.
God they make it difficult to get your money back.
Cancelled during trial. First in a chat... then the person stop replying once I said I wanted to go through with a refund. Then I emailed and was sent a form to fill out... now I've been told the account team will review the form and get in touch.
Why can't I just get an automatic refund in those 7 days? Why do I need to send emails, online chats, fill out forms and god knows what else next.
After requesting a refund after a post-trial charge, I received notice that a refund had been processed. “We processed your refund request. The amount will be credited back to your original payment method…” Yet, they chose to issue only a partial refund. When I emailed them about this, I was told that they’d charged me for the first month. But I lost access to the service as soon as I requested a refund… so I paid for one month of a service I did not receive.
At no point was it communicated that this would be a partial refund. It’s bad business and bad faith. That aside, it’s super odd that I’d be charged for a month AND not have access for that month. For context, the refund was requested the day after the trial ended.
I think Podcastle is very easy to use. As a novice podcaster the Audio Editing UI is intuitive and works well. I'm disappointed that they dramatically changed the storage space available with the free plan, but it hasn't dramatically impacted my overall workflow.
I have never been so amazed to see a supposedly professional service behave so deceptively and then refuse any customer service to rectify the issue.
The marketing would lead you to believe that Podcastle can deal with both audio and video content.
However, once I began using the platform, the only way of using video was to capture it 'in-platform' and no upload of content is possible.
For anyone who creates podcasts knows that multimedia from various sources is needed to create a finished project. From external audio/visual files, intro segments etc. With the only video option available being 'in-platform capture' it's already in
Something you'll notice is intentionally left out despite claiming audio and video capability through SEM advertising to the contrary.
If this had been a misunderstanding and they had agreed to let me out of my subscription I wouldn't be so inclined to rate them so low. But after raising this issue, and just a month into an annual subscription on my first project they flat-out refuse to acknowledge the deception and rectify the issue.
Claiming, that the functionality I'm expecting is on the roadmap for release 'this year.' Which I wouldn't hold my breath for, this isn't my first rodeo in tech.
Their platform is sub-par, their customer service is non-existent and their marketing is bewilderingly deceptive.
Do not use this platform.

Criminal behaviour, definitely avoid. I work in digital and I'm forever reviewing/trialing platforms - automatic renewal of course - barely used it as soon as I decided it didn't meet my standards - missed renewal date and they're refused to refund.
Very unprofessional, avoid at all costs!
Have since learned how they've stung other users, so clearly they're running platform into the ground and won't be around long
Audio Quality & Customer Service Are About as Awesome as a Rectal Exam
The audio files had a weird echo and they couldn't figure it out. Blamed it on user error. It's like 3 steps. My audience hated the audio through this platform. Then when I complained more they continued to side step. Used it for a week and asked for a refund after my card was charged despite having cancelled. They refused and blamed it on me. Turned out the issue was that they only work on a Mac in Chrome. You can't use your phone or any other browser but does their site say anything, no? Of course not. The site just appears to work and then they bill you again.
So Safari, Firefox, Edge, Samsung, Duck Duck Go, Opera, Brave, and all other users, you can go to hell as far as they're concerned.
Absolute scam artists who talk like politicians, never answering a question. As a tech entrepreneur at one point, I am ashamed this site even exists.
Avoid until they rectify their subscription cancellation process. I paid for numerous months more than I wanted because it isn't clear and transparent. Numerous other reviews have made the same compliant, they still haven't changed the process. Many have continued to pay despite cancelling the service due to the unnecessary convoluted process.
