A Smashing Company to deal with.
After having a smart meter put in 6 years ago and complaining to supplier the meter was faulty, then being passed onto EonNext and still complaining for another 5 years about it, I was at the end of my tether. Finally, my meter was replaced two months ago . As I was given a black box for the first time, I could see how much electricity I was using. I could see my usage plummeting, why?
In desperation I rang Shades of Green. I spoke to a brilliant lady, Karon Hawley. She listened and just knew what the problem had been. She sent me instructions to test my present meter to see if it was compatible with my solar panels. She said, if the old smart meter wasn’t compatible, then I wasn’t getting the energy generated and this could be why my bills were so high. I did the test and bingo, the new meter was compatible and this was why our bills had plummeted since the new one had been put in. I didn’t realise, the wrong smart meter wasn’t compatible. I hadn’t benefited from my panels for 6 years. Thank you Karon for all your help and listening to me. At last, I had an answer. If only Eon had listened and replaced the meter, when I told them something was wrong?

Mission Accomplished! Excellent.
I left a review previously on the 30th June which was less than favourable due to service that had fallen well below par but I can now say that A Shade Greener have more than made up for the disappointment I felt previously. I believe it's only fair that I update my previous review and describe my experience today. An engineer called Ricky arrived early this morning and he had been previously to outline his intentions on how to fix the issue regarding our install and I was very happy to see him return today the 7th July.
Every now and again you get a person who you just know are going to do a great job. I hope they make sure they hang on to Ricky as he is a credit to their company. Very friendly and polite and also really good at his job. His expertise and knowledge became very clear early on as he patiently explained each step to putting things right and getting our panels back working again. After completing the work he showed me what he had done and how much better and neater everything was, he also did a great job cleaning up any mess. So we have a nice new consumer box all fitted neatly and sealed perfectly and as an unexpected bonus they even fitted a new and more up to date inverter in the loft.
It is only right that I leave this as a five star review because it deserves it. Thank you very much and hats off to Ricky.
