Seriously!

I bought an among us game for my Nintendo switch and first it asked me for a membership to play the game which is crazy so I decided to return it. I went to Argos in Mahon retail park and the lady said I can’t return it unless it’s in the original package with the clear plastic on it! Everything was there in it and the game card was perfectly fine but I couldn’t return it because there was no clear plastic on it like seriously! How am I suppose to know the game works without opening the damn thing!

Almost like a SCAM

Argos.ie never have any stock.

Looking for an Orbital Sander and EVERYTHING is out of stock.

Why advertise products you do not have.

Whenever there is a "sale" (prices usually increased weeks before and then "discounted" to a sale price that is usually HIGHER than the prices a few weeks earlier - total SCAM) there is NO STOCK - ever.

Argos - do us all a favour and just close.

Terrible customer "service" and forget deliveries.

Absolutely awful service ordered a…

Absolutely awful service ordered a fridge freezer on the 21st of February and got a confirmation email but no correspondence since we had to ring after two weeks to see when it will be delivered after it saying on ordering delivered in 3-5 working days then after 3 phone calls being made they said it would be delivered Monday at half 7, nothing arrived and no email saying it had been delayed, rang today and now they are saying it's going to be another 7-10 working days. Ridiculous customer service and would not give me a refund either. Will never buy anything from argod again.

Why don't they just close???? Everything u look for is always out of stock! Can't blame the pandemic for lack of stock as most shops were effected but have all stocked up now.

Some improvements and they would be impossible to fault

Certain aspects of Argos are beyond fantastic, price, guarantees and customer service, but others can cause an annoyance.

Often the site has stuff for sale and often it's unavailable in every store and online.

Sometimes when you preorder an item as stock is available but not till a few days later, you get no confirmation or order number and if you try and contact them they say you never made it.

Why advertise items for sale that are not available?

I wanted to purchase an item that was on their catalogue online and also in their store, but when I attempt to purchase, I find it's unavailable! Also tried an alternative, same result.
When I went into the store it was totally empty - bad sign!
Obviously this company is on a downhill slide.
Too bad, used to be pretty good before, but sadly it looks like it hasn't long to go before it closes.

I wish I could give minus stars

I wish I could give minus stars. Last Wednesday I tried to buy a new laptop from Argos. I checked to see if any shops in Dublin stocked it but they didn’t. The site allowed me to order the item, I’d get to the point where I keyed in the OTP (One Time Passcode) and suddenly up would come an error. I thought it was something to do with 3D verification or my address (I found from previous experience that if your address differs even by a space, the item won’t go through). I phoned my card provider and amended one tiny detail on my address. I made 6 attempts to buy the item from one credit card and made a 7th attempt to buy it using the card on my current account. At every attempt, the Argos site would allow me get to the point of payment and then say there was an error. I requested that my credit card transfer funds to my current account so I could pay for it via my current account. In all, (Argos are you listening?), over 7,000 of credit between the two accounts taken up and I would not have been able to use my card to purchase anything else until the items dropped off. I made a total of 11!!!!!!!!! calls to Argos trying to sort out the problem and I spent 6 hours, yes 6 !!!!!! hours trying to figure out how to buy the laptop. The following day I tried again only this time I phoned one of the branches of Argos where I spoke to a staff member who told me the item was completely out of stock and not available in any stores or in the UK warehouse. So now it all becomes clear - Argos were so frigging lazy and so inept, they could not be bothered to fix their website so I could have saved literally hours of my time trying to buy something that was never in stock in the first instance. The worst service bar none. I used to think it was Marks and Spencer but Argos have won this particular race hands down.

What has happened to the once reliable/reasonable Argos????????

What ahs happened to Argos???
It used to be the first place you would think of to get reasonably priced household goods.
Now it is a shock if anything is in stock and the prices are ridiculous!
At a time when people are really feeling the rise in the cost of living Argos (SAINSBURYS) have decided to make unbelievable prices increases...and I don't mean thigs going up by a few £1s...I mean in some cases £50 + £100 increases.
Lost my business for good and I shall be spreading the word...people need to talk with their feet and wallets and spend elsewhere.

After purchasing several items in late…

After purchasing several items in late November one of which being a cooker decided to break down on Christmas day. Over three weeks ago.

My partner has sent numerous emails and spent hours on the phone to customer service only to be told that we have to wait for an engineer to come out on the 21st January leaving us nearly a month without a cooker.
Other than that we could return the cooker for a full refund and repurchase a cooker which once again will not be delivered until the 21st January.
We have already paid for delivery so I can't see its down to us to return the item and being out of pocket to pay for my family to Christmas lunch at the local pub I feel I would like to return the many other items we purchased before Christmas because I would not like to go through your customer service again if things go wrong.

I'm sure you can understand our frustration but we are totally fed up with this now, I have contacted watchdog and if not receiving any contact before the end of this week we will be seeking legal advice at citizens advice bureau.

NOTHING IS IN STOCK. LUDICROUS!

I have been looking to find and buy the most basic of things - a storage ottoman/box for my bedroom. EVERY SINGLE THING I have looked at on the Argos website is out of stock. Literally nothing I showed any interest in was available. What kind of way is this to do business? So the pandemic has damaged a lot of businesses. This doesn't mean that you therefore save money by keeping paltry stocks so customers cannot buy anything when you run out as that defeats the object of building your business back up, doesn't it?? That is the only conclusion that anyone can come to here as to why almost every item on their website is unavailable. They will sink like a stone like other high street shops if they keep offering customers this pathetic service who come to their website to buy something in all good faith.

Horrible aftersale service, warranty not honoured, AVOID

Bad, bad, bad. I bought ebook reader that broke after 6 months. Argos refused to replace, refused to fix, refused to refund. Device was well taken care of, honestly no damage or misuse, just stopped working. Argos customer service informed me that after 6 months I have provide a report from an expert and it is on my side to prove that device had factory fault. That's so disgraceful that they do not honour a warranty. I left that rubbish of an electronics with them. They can stick it up their a...rse. Never gonna buy anything from them again. Better to order from China.

Purchased Airsprung mattress with (alleged) 5 year guarantee, mattress fails after 2.5 years. Airsprung tells me to return mattress to seller. Argos tells me

“We require you to pay for an independent survey on your mattress to prove its poor condition before a return is considered”

Who do I ask? The local second hand mattress expert? Does he/she need a qualification in this field to be accepted by Argos’s rules?
I wonder how much they charge for a survey 🤪

Looks like I’ve been stitched up on this “guaranteed” purchase, thanks Argos… and Airsprung!

Never ever have most things in stock

Never ever have most things in stock. I have been after the James Bond blu ray collections and been checking for weeks, even price dropped but never ever in stock. I think it’s all a con to get people to come on to their website.

Nothing in stock

I really want to shop at Argos, but nothing I find, on their website, is actually in stock. I’ve spent a whole evening trying to shop with them…not one item was in stock for either delivery or pick up.
As a potential customer, it’s very frustrating to find the items you want to buy, aren’t available.
I had a whole list…not one item was I able to buy. They may blame the pandemic, but other retailers are still managing to function, during this difficult time, and so Argos needs to reflect on how many potential sales they’re losing, to their competitors, because of their lack of available items.
