Avoid these time-wasters

False advertising!!! Do not use these time-wasters. I ordered an oven on Black Friday as they appeared to be cheaper than all other suppliers, not by a huge amount but just enough to attract my attention. They also claimed the item was ‘in stock’ which was clearly not true. 2 days before the delivery date I received an email saying my delivery was put back a week. Then again the next week another email saying they were unable to source my order at all and Bosch couldn’t give them a restock date. Overall 3 weeks wasted and missed all the other deals so ended up costing me £50 more than if I’d gone with a high street company (who had more than 40 of them in their warehouse when I re-ordered the same model with them that night!). Do not use them. No apologies over email, just a standard email template. I feel sorry for the people working here as their job satisfaction must be close to zero!

I will be checking my bank statements to ensure the refund matches what I paid or it’s a quick online process to the Small Claims court!

Hi Dave,

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review on our company. We are extremely sorry that the item you ordered had push backs regarding the delivery. We do not state anywhere on our website that items are in stock and actually state that delivery is 7-10 working days. Our terms and conditions state:

"As a guideline only, the majority of items are delivered within seven to ten working days following your email order confirmation. A specific delivery date will be provided prior to delivery.

Please note that if an item is out of stock, we will advise via email and the order may be cancelled if you wish following written confirmation."

We advised you of the delay due to the manufacturer (Bosch) not having the stock in the UK as it was delayed from Germany. Unfortunately, we do not have control over this and advise customer's on all issues if they arise.

A full refund has been processed and this could have been actioned at any time if you had wished to cancel. I can also ensure you that with have an amazing amount of job satisfaction but sometimes issues are out of our control and we do apologise at all stages for this.

Kind regards,

Lianne

Hopefully you don't need to deal with their customer "service" team

Ordered a 1K cooking hub, but before completely unpacking it, I realised it was the wrong size (my fault). I was then unfortunately outside the 14 day return period as our building project was not running on schedule. By then they however rejected taking it back despite the fact that: a) the model is current, b) I offered to buy another similarly priced product, c) pay for the return and d) accept admin. I understand there is a 14 day return window, but what do they have to loose? Make their margin twice? Back to buying from Amazon, John Lewis and AppliancesDirect

Hi David ,

I am sorry but we are very confused by your comments as according to your email it seems that you mistakenly missed an order update and 2no telephone calls advising you of delivery. You then actually took delivery of the goods and then asked for the goods to be returned .Your own email reply confirming this is listed below which really doesn't add up considering your comments on this review :

Hi Courtney,

I have just arrived back in to the office and picked up your email plus the two voicemails you left. Unfortunately your office number shows as private so I have deliberately not been taking the call thinking it was a spam call, nor realised you left a voicemail as I get loads a day.

When the dispatch email came I thought it was a system generated email which I ignored, as I had a confirmation from you cancelling the order and a refund on my card.

I have ordered this product from elsewhere now and no longer require the item, that was delivered yesterday.

Can you please arrange for the item to be collected at your earliest convenience.

Regards

Be warned

Be warned, the prices are too good to be true. Appliance Source will happily advertise items they don't have in stock, take your order and your money, then after 4 or 5 days send an email saying they have sold out and don't know when the manufacturer will be able to supply. This has just happened to me with a Bosch induction hob, but sure enough when I Google the model number they're still advertising and still taking orders. I have replied to the email asking for an immediate refund. Response currently awaited. Seriously, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS RETAILER.

Dear Steve,

I am sorry that the product you have ordered is out of stock .However I can assure you this is not a “scam” or anything else and of course your order will be cancelled and credited immediately.

There really is no need to assume some sort of conspiracy theory that we are trying to steal from you or make you pay more.

I appreciate from the outside that you would have no knowledge of this industry and that ordering a specialized appliance is not quite as straight forward as ordering say a toaster from Amazon.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to put live stock readings on these very specialized products as the stock situation is totally reliant on manufacturers and distributors and supply times are never clear.

Stock could come in tomorrow, next week or next month , until stock is physically with the manufacturer (Bosch) in the UK no one (retailers/distributors/manufacturers) will have an idea of exact lead times and even at that point allocation can be unclear .The best that could be given is a guideline of a time frame and when we are given these by Bosch they heavily emphasize the fact that this is a guide only and could change continuously .

We could of course put a guide-lead time against the product of between 2 days and 3 months but I am not sure that would be relevant to anyone .

Optionally we could just remove the product completely, but everyone is in the same boat with products and manufacturers like these and many customers are aware of this and order well ahead of when they need it.

If we remove the product a customer could purchase from elsewhere possibly at a higher price but potentially be in exactly the same position regarding availability.

There may well be a retailer who has got their own physical stock (usually a cancelled order) and that would be ideal for someone who needed the product quickly . However, our experience is that many customers assume products like this are sat on the shelf waiting to be sent only to find that is not the case and that everyone is working on the same availability .

I would suggest you call potential suppliers before placing your order (the majority of our customers do this) to establish whether they have their own physical stock that works with your required lead time .

To confirm, following your request your order has already been cancelled and credited .

A company to avoid

We purchased a coker hood from this company. We had nothing but trouble with it from new. We reported this to Appliance Source soon after it was installed because it didn't filer as it should and badly stained our ceiling. They immediately asked us to deal directly with the manufacturers which we did. Upon reflection this tactic was simply a way for Applince Source to avoid having to provide a refund i.e. passing the buck!.
Over a year later the manufacturers have failed to rectify the fault and we are left with a huge stain on our kitchen ceiling.
We have forwarded an engineers report saying that the hood is faulty but, in spite of us following appropriate procedures Appliance Source have stated that they will "fight tooth and nail" to avoid giving us a refund.
My advice is STAY WELL CLEAR of this company. They offer competitive prices but if anything goes wrong - TOUGH!!

Hi Mike,

It was myself who dealt with your hood issue and as much as I appreciate your comments I can categorically state that I did not say the above comment regarding giving you a refund. We have procedures to follow and have helped at every step of the way.

When you rang back in 2016 we advised that you could go to Elica directly as it is under their warranty or if you e-mailed the issues across we could forward this onto them.

We did not hear anything from yourself until a year later and I have continued for the past month to try and get a resolution for you. Unfortunately, Elica has advised that after sending out 2 engineers, they cannot see any faults with the hood and it is all working as per the specification. As they cannot see any faults with the hood, no authorisation has been given for a replacement.

Kind regards

Lianne

Slow deliveries

Good prices, but slower than some others when delivering. This company is OK if you can take a 2 week lead time.

Awful company!!

If I could give it '0' score I would. I have had to cancel my order as they will only deliver the item outside the house. Being a women on my own I said I wouldn't be able to lift it up one step and then lift it into the door way. I only wanted it lifting into the doorway of the house and then I could push it to the room I needed it to be. They said that's not possible, it will be left outside. I think that's a disgusting service and a way to treat people. I was told well most companies only deliver to the outside which is totally incorrect as I have two other appliances (free delivery) coming and on their website it says they will deliver to a room of your choice. This is a two-bit company and I would avoid at all cost!!!

Dont buy from this seller. It is Fraught with Danger

I am writing this review for any person thinking of purchasing any item from this retailer. Do your research first and pay £20 - £25 extra from a reputable seller.
The company clearly takes no responibility under the Sale of Goods Consumer Rights Act 2015. They do everything possible to blame you as a customer for faulty goods. They try to impose a 48hr checking rule which is not enforceable by law.
They will even have the audacity to accuse the buyer as causing any damage. They even go further and try to say that the manufacture cannot do anything to help. The company needs to fully understand and comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. It takes no resonsibilty whatsoever. In my own situation I am now forced to take legal action against this company for the delivery of damaged goods.

Please Please take note of what I have written. I did the unfortunate thing and googled on price. In hindsight I wish I had purchased elsewhere. Please dont be put into a position like us. THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR YOU AS A COMPANY & DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE LAW.

PLEASE BUY FROM SOMEONE ELSE REGARDLESS WHAT APPLIANCE SOURCE MAY SAY

Great price and service

Ordered a Belling gas oven on Tuesday evening and it was delivered Thursday. It was nearly £100 cheaper than anywhere else, communication was great and I was able to pick my delivery day once I telephoned the carriers as advised. The oven was delivered well packaged and although the driver could only deliver to the door it was free delivery so worth it. All in all it was quick, cheap and a good service.

AVOID!!!!!!

This company will take payment and then disregard you completely. I had a cooker delivered, it is faulty and has been unhooked from the gas and noted as 'dangerous' by a Belling Engineer, this company has completely washed their hands of me as a customer now they have my money. Absolutely shocking customer service! I have had the cooker less than 48 hours and will not be able to use it for the next 12 days! AVOID APPLIANCE SOURCE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Thank you for taking the time to complete a review on our company. We are of course disappointed to hear that you are not happy with our service and have therefore carried out a full investigation into the history of your order.

As the item had been fitted when the fault was noticed it falls under Belling's warranty. I can see from our emails that we organised an engineer to come out and assess the fault at the earliest convenience. This is their procedure and they will then act accordingly, either replacing the appliance or fixing the fault. This can vary in time depending on whether the manufacturer has the required spare parts or appliance readily available.

Avoid if you live north of Hadrians Wall!

I tried to purchase several items from Appliance Source. I was issued with a full invoice stating what I had purchased including delivery. In addition, my credit card was debited for the full amount.
I received an email later in the day requesting a further £28 because I lived in Scotland. I actually live in Edinburgh which is hardly the Highlands or Islands. In any case, I had already been billed for delivery etc. I explained to the lady (Diane) that this was a breach of contract etc. She wasn't interested and simply stated pay it, or we will cancel the order.
Never witnessed such appalling customer (lack of) service. Avoid like the plague.

Take order, take payment, then email requesting more money for delivery

Was after a built in microwave oven. Found the one I was after on this site after being directed from Google Shopping. Thought delivery was a bit steep at £20 but the microwave was a good price. Bought item and paid with credit card. Received a purchase invoice confirming purchase. Next day I receive 2 emails from them telling me that the delivery cost is more expensive and they want a further £28 to deliver the microwave, citing small print in their delivery faq section. That would make a delivery cost of £48 for a microwave... The scary thing is I live right in the middle of the central belt of Scotland 20 miles from Glasgow and Edinburgh, it's hardly the end of the world - I can actually fly to London for the same price. However the most annoying thing is that they accepted the order, took payment and then emailed asking for more money, not once but twice. In the end I cancelled the order out of principle, but they refused to cancel over the phone. I had to write an email requesting cancellation. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to be reimbursed. You may ask why I have given 1 star, well I expect if you can collect an item from them then their advertised prices look quite good, but don't look to get anything delivered
