Excellent and professional guiding from Jack at Apex Mountain Skills. Fantastic attention to detail and support, we hiked Ben Nevis at night to see the sunrise. Jack (and Lynsey) couldn’t have done anything better, made us all feel very secure, managed the pace well, and had lots of interesting information and knowledge to share. I can’t recommend them highly enough. If you are thinking about going with Apex, you shouldn’t hesitate. Five stars!

Jack was a friendly, knowledgeable and experienced guide. He shared with us both his historical and geographical knowledge of Ben Nevis, and some of his personal experiences on the mountain.

Jack was happy to answer all and any questions we had and made our climb a pleasant and fun experience.

Jack was encouraging and thoughtful; everything from snapping pics of us to filtering water and providing us with seat pads at the top of the mountain. Jack was safety conscious and we felt comfortable and supported at all points during our climb.

We had a fantastic experience climbing Ben Nevis with our guide, Jack. He was incredibly patient and always maintained a positive attitude, which kept us motivated throughout the hike. Jack was polite, professional, and clearly knowledgeable, making us feel safe and supported the entire way. We’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and encouraging guide :)

If you're in the process of working towards your summer Mountain Leader qualification or simply looking to gain skills and confidence that will help you in the mountains I would highly recommend Jack as a trainer. I found the morning spent with him to be exceedingly helpful and useful where, for those doing their ML, having an experienced and knowledgeable guide like Jack is an invaluable opportunity to learn from someone who has already been through the assessment process.

I found that he set a good pace and has a good teaching style. He was professional and well prepared from start to finish. I also took from the day real world practical skills and knowledge that I could directly apply, consolidating down the skills and training needed towards ML assessment into a consice and very useful format with room for discussion and personal learning.

He was happy to give his time, of which I am very grateful, and is clearly keen to see people succeed and enjoy the mountains with which he loves.
I can highly recommend Jack as a guide and tutor where I would encourage anyone preparing for their assessment or looking to take on more serious hill walking to get in contact with him.
