AmeriGas is the worst propane service…

AmeriGas is the worst propane service you could get. Charges too much and fees you to death and on top of that when you need propane delivered the most ( 7% with temperatures at 4°) they don’t care. Putting chains on tires is too tedious for them apparently. DO NOT RECOMMEND

AmeriGas is awful

This company is horrible, customer service is awful. They prices are high and the delivery time is bogus 2 weeks to get gas. No one speak basic English, hold time was over an hour for supervisor and of course language barriers. I would not recommend this company.

Overcharged

1. Amerigas question online
How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

Very disappointed propane service. Next I was quoted a different price in email and invoice by this company. Then overcharged once it was delivered to my residence. Told on the phone twice by someone by name Michelle my gas would be $1.54 a gallon but once delivered was charged $2.70 a gallon..Then talked to a supervisor on different day and he repeated the same thing after delivery my price was $1.54. Once I received my paper invoice it was $2.70. Most of the employees were very rude and not helpful in this situation. What can you do fix thing and make right? Fix my gas bill to the agreement of $1.54 a gallon. Plus you waived $140 safety check as a gift in the quote. Since receiving my bill I was charged $140 safety check but safety check was not done at my residence. I had safety check done less than a year ago with a different company. I am requesting to be charged correctly so I can pay this bill.I had difficulty understanding some customer support workers online. I am requesting updates to bill to the agreement for the propane delivered. I am waiting on an updated bill. In the original quote I was given local25 25% pomo discount but again once again once propane was delivered no Local25(25%) discount was applied on my bill. Talked customer service numerous times without adequate results and charging me incorrectly as of 2/10/2026.

Absolute trash company

Absolute trash company. First, my landlord and I have each been told that the other needed to call to have me added as an authorized user. They tell me she has to call. They tell her I have to do a conference call with both of us on the line. Mind you, they were fine to speak to me to set up the payment plan but now there is some security issue with speaking to me about removing the late fee when I havent paid late. I asked about an actual office and was given an address. They could not provide a direct phone number for this office and stated the offices have no direct numbers. They could not confirm office hours to ensure someone would be present before I drove a half hour there. Now I am sitting on hold on a call that has lasted 35 minutes so far. First they wanted me to pay the final payment in advance to have the fee waived. I said no. Then she told me the late fee was because I didnt pay the Jan payment til Feb. I said my first payment was due Dec. I see withdrawals to Amerigas on Dec 9, Jan 8, and Feb 6. Three of the four payments. Do you show three payments? She said she did. I said then remove the fee. Sat on hold. She comes back and says the fee is removed. I ask for confirmation of the balance due and the date she shows it due so that I do not have to spend more hours of my life fighting another late fee next month....back on hold. A WORD TO THE WISE: Choose a different company for your propane needs. This one is **TRASH**.

Delivery of propane and dealing with a leak.

Ok to start with I ordered propane on 1-26-2026. I received an email on 1-29-2026 stating they was going to deliver the propane on 1-30-2026. On 1-30-2026 I didn't receive the propane and another email was sent stating they wasn't delivering that day. The propane delivery was set between 1-30-2026 and 2-2-2026. The propane was not delivered until 2-5-2026. On 2-6-2026 I found a leak on the tank where it shows the amount of propane in the tank. I called amerigas and they sent a driver out to look at the tank. He seen the leak. The driver also said they only had him and one technician that work several counties. The driver said he would get a technician out here on 2-7-2026 with a new tank. The tank is still leaking on 2-7-2026 and they stated we had to pay them more money to have a technician sent out here. This is the worse company to deal with. You call the customer service people and don't get no help and they send you to a supervisor who does not help you. You can't get up with the local company. Its just terrible dealing with them. They keep you on hold for hours.

They couldn't fill up my tank

They couldn't fill up my tank. Because I had only quit it even though they have before. So I need a refund from my money now. Going on a week with no refund and it's still shows as a credit?! I have called them several times and every time it has taken over 30 minutes to get someone on the phone with one of the times being 45 minutes before I gave up.

There needs to be negative stars

There needs to be negative stars. HORRIBLE company. My elderly in-laws have a propane tank leak. Amerigas cut off their gas to their house 2 days ago, but it still smells like gas. IT is sub freezing weather in Fairfield Glade Tn. My 93 year old mother is shivering in the house and many, MANY calls to Amerigas either get transferred to Africa or the Phillipines with zero results. The last call said it might still be 48-72 hours before someone can come out. Will the house explode in the mean time? Will my elderly mother die from exposure to the cold? I'm calling lawyers after this review. The Amerigas emergency number is ONLY for first responders and the guy wouldn't even speak to me. The Fairfield FD came out but said "they don't do that" (call the emergency first responder number). What a horrible horrible situation.

Avoid At All Costs!! Worst Company Ever.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They rarely show up for deliveries, charge insane unplanned fees. Quoted me $495 to sell me my tank bc I was charged $140 in tank rental without being warned. When I agreed the price magically jumped to $800.

A delivery was 3 weeks past due and their overseas call center kept telling me the delivery would happen "tomorrow." I called a local company after my tank hit 0% in the middle of winter because I was panicked and had a new tank and service installed within a single day.

Do not use Amerigas

AmeriGas wants $300 Fee to deliver in a time of need

AmeriGas should be avoided at all costs! They are barbarians. They do not care if you run out of Propane in an Arctic Cold. If you are on "Will Call", their Terms are a 2-week delivery window, to wit: Martin at 10:04, Feb 2:
Thank you, Daniel. We aim to deliver will-call orders within 10 days. However, we understand that you are out of gas. If you need gas by tomorrow, we can expedite your order for a $300 fee. Would you like me to proceed with escalating your request for $300?
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AmeriGas! They do not care about you or doing the right thing!

Amerigas in Vermont a real nightmare

I have been with Amerigas and their precursor Young's propane since 2002 and it has been an absolute nightmare. In the last 4 years - during Amerigas's tenure, they have let my tank run dry 3 times, at one point the interior of my house was 36 degrees and just last night it was as low as 48 degrees, yet their system said the tank was 23% full with 13 days of propane remaining. It was empty AGAIN, third time in four years. Worse than that when you call for a house in Vermont you are talking to California. And folks are not helpful, it was all I could do to get them to make an emergency delivery last night - it was a battle from 4:00 pm until 10:30 pm when the delivery was finally made.

They earned zero stars!

I wish I could rank them zero stars. Avoid this company if you want dependable and timely delivery of propane. On my most recent attempt to get a fill up, they scheduled two different delivery dates and missed both. They did not reschedule after either missed date, I had to call to reschedule. The “customer service advocates” seemed unable to do anything except read what I could view online myself. I called attempting to get delivery rescheduled, and ultimately I spoke with a supervisor. They blamed icy roads for failing to deliver, but icing only occurred AFTER both missed scheduled deliveries. They then changed the delivery to urgent status, assuring me that I’d get a text when delivery was rescheduled. No texts were received. After at least 10 calls, and after 18 days, they finally delivered (still with no text received). I’ve had three deliveries from Amerigas over two years and had similar experiences with each delivery. I will NEVER use them again, even if their prices are lower than the competition. I’ve found a local company where the phone is answered by someone there in the building. I’ll be using them going forward. No matter how cheap it is, Amerigas’s low price is meaningless if I have to wait weeks for delivery and worry all the while about running out of propane for heat and emergency generator. If timeliness is of no concern, you can go for it, but do so with eyes wide open.

They charged over $400 to take away our propane tank that we never use…drove the truck through our front yard and broke our concrete driveway…I’ve called 8 times, emailed pictures and no one will respond to the damages. Beyond awful customer service…property damages with no accountability and charging us late fees on our account. Never will I use or recommend this company…
