Helpful and prompt service

Helpful and prompt service. We had mistakenly booked at a branch much further away, but the local office were helpful, and sorted a car for us. Refund of security deposit was done immediately on return of the car.

Car was adequate, handbrake did not hold well on some of Madeira’s hilly streets!

NEW OWNERSHIP

NEW OWNERSHIP! I was told, which is why I write this review.
The extremely helpful and friendly young lady at the desk informed me about how the new owners run the business much better and professional.

And that was my experience. We rented twice. It wasn’t insanely expensive. It was fine that the driver was not also the owner of the credit card.
She knew the cars and the roads, to provide the best match.

Renting for one day means 24 hours. Not having to return it before midnight.
I have no experience with 7M from before the new owners, so all I know is that this company is currently good and trustworthy.

cannot recommend this company

please rent a car from who has a office in the airport.
if you got a ford focus from 7m, please check the air conditioner is working properly. I wasted a lot time picking up the rental car on first day of the trip.

DO NOT RENT!

DO NOT RENT!

Paid for early pick up and late drop off, had to wait an hour outside the shop as they said I could not pick the car up early. Refusing to answer calls and emails and provide refund.

Great customer service and car in good condition

I used 7m in May 2025, however booked the car long before my arrival. My plans have changed and I needed to change rental dates and a location. When contacted customer service by provided email they had no issues to amend it all for me. Very helpful and stress free. The car we got was all working fine, was clean and the gentleman who worked at the location (Marina Shopping Centre) was very helpful and friendly. The only thing was that I already sent copies of my documents via email as requested, however, they weren’t accessible for the gentleman at the location so he had to take a copies anyway, bit waste of time. Anyway overall we were very happy with the service and would recommend this company to anyone.

catastrophic organisation !!

the 7M-credit-card-charging at the 7M-location near the airport did not work, they brought us to our home, and next day they told us, that our booking is not valid any more, because it is one day too late now.
This is a scandal !
our money was paid and we did not get any car !

Had a bad encounter with 7M in February…

Had a bad encounter with 7M in February 2025.

I booked and paid a car online and chose the Caniço office as the pickup location. It was very close to my hotel so I could walk there. The night before pickup, I sent 7M an email to ask about the paperwork for the car. They told me that the car would not be available in Caniço but in another village called Garajau. I would have had to take a taxi or bus to get to Garajau, so I asked 7M to deliver the car to my hotel instead. They said they could do it if I paid 25 euros extra. At this point, I thought the deal had changed so much that the best option would be to cancel it. So I asked for a refund. But they would not give me my money back. I ended up using Hertz, who were kind enough to deliver a car to my hotel at short notice.

It was good to have a location nearby

It was good to have a location nearby. We were surprised that we had to state all information we had given online again at the agency. Another surprise was to get a dirty car with VERY worn tires. Having it replaced was quite a challenge and staff was rather indifferent. The replacement car was dirty again. We had to wash the windscreen from the inside to be able to see.

Fiat Panda -

Waited a bit long at the airport to be picked up to be brought to the rental depot.

Depot is not at the airport but close by.

Check in was done online but still had to do more admin at the office.

Car didn’t seem ready and when car was given to us, it had a warning light and engine light on the dash.

They would have seen this as they drove the car to us at the office, after saying it to them , they gave us another car.

Really annoying as we had a baby and lots of baggage with us , we had to move our stuff from the pick up van to the office to the faulty car and finally to the working car.

Car didn’t have the safety connections for our baby seat.

Car was fine for the week, very little power in it though and shakes when you try to do a decent speed in it, didn’t feel really safe in it.

Car was Fiat Panda, first and last time ever renting this vehicle.

Drop off was quick and efficient, quick check of the car, and the guy drove us with that car back to the airport which was handy as we didn’t have to move our baggage from one vehicle to another etc.

Would be great if the cars came with some type of phone holder so tourists can follow Google maps etc. found it very annoying trying to wedge my phone somewhere so I could follow my route.

Went with this company because there was no crazy money deposit held and seemed competitively priced compared to other companies , plus you had the full insurance on it.

Staff were friendly and nice at reception, just need to be a bit more efficient and make sure car is in working order with no warning lights.

Good to do business with you

Very helpful staff and a lot of simpathy. Everything went very smooth (airport pickups, car delivery, everything).

The car was in very good conditions and very clean. The child seat could be in better conditions, but was fully functional.

Fairly good and simple

Fairly good, choosing their office by the marina is smart as it's much easier getting the car out of the garage (compared to narrow busy streets in other locations). Service could improve, I was almost charged twice even though I had already paid online (make sure to have your receipt ready to avoid this if you prepay online). Car was in decent shape but could use a bit of service on the brakes. Drop-off by the airport went smoothly and the free shuttle is a nice touch.
