Managed to replace an old gas hob with one of a similar, but slightly smaller size and make good the difference in sizes. Great job.

Quick and responsive

A plumber from 0800 Homefix Ltd was called out by the resident below my 89-year-old mother's flat to fix a leak. My mother was confronted by him on her doorstep, telling her that the leak came from her flat, that it needed to be repaired urgently and that it would cost her £1,400 plus VAT.
She felt she had no option but to accept. He said he would return to carry out the work the next day at 10:00, but did not appear until after 14:30. My mother was advised not to use any water until the work was complete, so the wait was extremely stressful.
Coincidentally, another plumbing firm visited her a few days later about a maintenance contract. They advised her that the work carried out by Homefix was not fit for purpose and posed a significant risk of further flooding. They also told her that she should not have been charged more that £400 for the initial work .
I have been in touch with Homefix since then, who have informed us that the original plumber is no longer working for them, and sent a senior engineer to correct the work. This has now been completed satisfactorily. Homefix have also offered a refund of £1,000 plus VAT, but despite several attempts to chase them, no refund has been forthcoming.
UPDATE: although Homefix has not replied to my email or returned my phonecalls, my mother has now received a full refund, so we consider the matter closed.

We had John come over to service our Boiler. He was fast, professional, great at explaining what we needed. We were concerned our Boiler hadn't been looked at in goodness knows how long (maybe 10 years) as we've only bought and moved into this house last Feb and the old owners didn't leave much record on what had or hadn't been done. We wanted this sorted now to make sure it's at least safe to continue using as we've got our first baby on the way very soon. John did a thorough check, and gave us clear actionable advice with no pressure to do anything without due consideration. We would recommend this company to others looking for peace of mind.

I was very happy with HomeFIX - I highly recommend Charlie. He was excellent: extremely polite and professional at all times. Charlie went through the process of assessing and providing an estimate very thoroughly, and we felt reassured at all times that he was experienced and providing a great service for my mother's house. Everything was completed in a short space of time, including buying the spare parts.

Home fix was so responsive to the problem we had as made an enquiry through check a trade and had a phone call that evening.
A gentleman by the name of Shaun came out today, and managed to fix the same day which was impressed and cannot thank him and the company enough for how responsive they were to the problem that has been ongoing for a while.

We have had an extremely frustrating experience with Homefix which has still not been resolved.

We contacted Homefix in October to get our boiler serviced. Our boiler needed replacing, which they did for us promptly at a cost of £4,800.

About three months later, the boiler stopped working. This turned out to be because it was installed with the wrong fuse. The person who told us this was the same engineer who installed it. It seemed very obvious to him so I'm not sure why he didn't check he had the right fuse when he installed it in the first place.

Although the boiler was only 3 months old so well within warranty, Homefix were slow to send someone round to resolve the issue. After three days with no hot water in the middle of winter, we had no choice but to pay someone else to come and fix it.

Since then, we have been trying with absolutely no success to get Homefix to uphold their warranty and pay for the repair. They have totally ignored our emails, and every time we phone they fob us off and say someone else will call back to resolve this, but we are still waiting.

I would not recommend Homefix to anyone, unless you want to pay over the odds for something that doesn't work, with a warranty that is apparently meaningless.
