Good value and good service

The car rental liability waiver insurance is good value, and the only time I had to call it, my claim was paid up promptly (though I did a lot of work beforehand to reject the rental company's inclusion of work that was nothing to do with me, and which they had lumped into their claim). The staff are accessible and helpful if you have any queries.

Good rate for good cover

Good rate for good cover, but would appreciate not having maximum trip length reduced for age. That seems like discrimination. Also would like to see coverage for being on skis during a holiday, as opposed to a wintersports holiday. Sort those, and it gets 5*

Tracked and signed = It's lost, so go away

I used tracked and signed to send a letter to Canada. After a few days I saw on their tracker that it was delivered. So far, so good. They provide a link to the Canada Post website to see more. Their website says 'We didn’t find an item associated with this number'. What??? But Royal Mail said it has been delivered! So I wait a few more days, and try again, same response. After several more days and tries, I try to get in touch with Royal Mail. Can I? Forget it. When you work their way through their phone maze you arrive at a message which tells you to submit a claim via their website, then cuts you off. When you go to their website and find the link to the form, it just routes you back to their Help and Support page. They obviously have no interest in actually doing anything for their supposed service, and just take your money. Forget it. Courier next time.

Not good if your connection is unstable

It seems easy to set up initially, but if you do not have a standard drive/directory structure it can be more of a pain. Restoring tends to mess up directory structures or cause duplicates if you restore to a different computer (i.e. after an upgrade). But the biggest hassle I have found is that I am forever getting 'unable to complete' messages because there has been a network or VPN break during back-up. This is a complete pain - why on earth does it not automatically restart the process if there is an interruption, or better, restart from the last complete file? Could do better. I doubt I will stay with this service.

Can't pay for calendar, no support

I tried to pay for their Advent Calendar, which seems to be a regular problem. You go to pay, go through the card security rigmarole, then everything goes back to the gift basket and no action is taken. What is the point of trying to sell something if you can't actually pay for it? I have tried with both Chrome and Firefox, but no difference. Customer service? Forget it. No response to messages sent on their site, or to emails. Won't be bothering in future.

Plants were not in good condition

Plants were not in good condition, bone dry, and badly packed, loose in the box and rolling around. Much of the potting mixture had fallen out. They have been planted, and I think they will survive OK, but not very impressed.

Painful process

I log on, and it wants to send me a security code by SMS. But it never arrives. So unable to log on or do anything. And logging on usually requires umpteen attempts on recaptcha which is frustrating and time wasting (admittedly I have never liked that process, as it is never clear what they mean, ie. does traffic light include the pole the light is on, or not? Does motorcyle include the rider, or not? etc). Going somewhere else.

Mostly very good, but watch out for damage

The Good:
1. Very good price for the car at Madrid airport
2. Shuttle was prompt and efficient. Directions to the pickup were accurate
3. Car was upgraded as they didn't have the category I had booked.
4. No problems with the car itself
5. Return was smooth (BUT see below)
6. Shuttle back to the airport was simple.

The Bad:
1. I had a car hire insurance policy so I declined the extra insurance, for which they debited me EUR1400 on my debit card as a guarantee. It was lucky my bank account could cover that, but there may be overdraft fees.
2. The car had dents in it. The contract specified where the damage was, so I made sure to take pictures all around the car, and specifically the existing damage.
3. When I came back, I insisted that I wanted my credit back for the EUR1400. They said I would get it after they checked the car. I said I would wait. Then they came back and said the car was damaged. I pointed to the contract, and said it was already there. They said this was new, so I went out, and they pointed to the dent. I showed them the photograph of the dent, clear as day. They then cleared the charge. If I had not waited and insisted on the refund, I would not have got my EUR1400 back, and would have had to fight for it.

MORAL: Take photos all around the car before accepting it, and make sure any damage is properly recorded on the form, or you may be out of pocket unless you have paid extra for their insurance.

Had someone try to break into my Jeep…

Had someone try to break into my Jeep via the front passenger window, but they didn't know it was laminated, and gave up. Called Jeep - no parts available, try scrap dealers. Tried Autoglass on the offchance, and they said they could do it for the outrageous (to me anyway) price of £850-odd. They asked for my insurer, and then said that it would be covered, and I could simply pay the excess and I wouldn't lose my no-claims. So I agreed. Bit of a hard sell, but if the insurance is OK, then fine. Got a quick appointment at home, the young lady showed up on time, fixed the glass promptly and efficiently with the right laminated option, not a toughened one, no fuss at all. Very satisfied.

Friendly and efficient company when explaining policy principles and coverage over the phone, simple renewal. Would be 5 stars, but I haven't (luckily) had to test the actual coverage yet, so I can't speak to whether it actually works as intended.

My first try

My first try, normally being a user of another transfer service. The funds have not reached their final destination yet so this is a bit preliminary. The good point is that they have a transfer facility with my bank in Canada, making it easy (in theory) to move money to their account prior to transfer. In practice their system security often seems to make it impossible to actually log on, leaving you caught in a constant loop of logon attempts, emails and text messages (which becomes expensive if you are not in the same country as the phone). Try and change the phone number to a local one? No chance - you get caught in the same set of logon/2FA code loops. Perhaps that is the anti-spyware software I have, but it is a pain. Unless I can get it to work properly, the service isn't really much use to me unfortunately.

Just purchased

Just purchased, so not used yet. Easy to decide what you need, and a call centre that was not only accessible, but was also able to answer my questions clearly. So can't fault them so far.
