Great cruise, superb experience

I took the Danube River, Budapest to Nuremberg cruise. It was one of the most enjoyable holidays I have had for a long time. There was no stress at all, everything we needed was taken care of, from the moment we boarded the plane Avalon booked to the time we arrived at the departure airport, and in between, it was pure enjoyment. We went to many places, always well organised excursions and attentive crews. I have now booked another cruise with Avalon for next year! Happy days ahead.

Lesson: donot close a dispute/claim until your money is safe

Ordered a Cross pen 16.5.2025., the order was acknowledged and Royal Mail 48 tracking information emailed to me the same day. The item never received a scan by the post office, and the Online Pen Company accepted the item was lost and offer a replacement or refund. Due to their lack of stock a refund was eventually decided upon. After waiting and chasing for the refund, on 28.5.2025. After initiating a 'dispute' on the banking website I finally received an email that a full refund was initiated, I checked on my banking website and confirm that was the case. LUCKY FOR ME, I DECIDED NOT TO CLOSE THE DISPUTE UNTIL THE MONEY IS SAFE IN MY ACCOUNT. Then on 3.6.2025. I recevied an email from the banking website that the refund was cancelled and advised me to contact the seller. The Online Pen Company became non-responsive to me, no explanation was offered. I eventually got my money back, but I had to escalated the dispute to a claim and won! A lot of unnecessary procedures.

Poor service ... incomplete shed delivered

11.4.2025. I ordered a shed through one of their agents.
6.5.2025. Email received asking for full payment before delivery.
13.5.2025. Shed delivered with lock & handles not fitted, we were told another crew will return to fit the said equipment.
23.5.2025. Agreed date to have the lock fitted. The guy came and said he couldn't fit the lock becuse he may split the wood and left. After attempts to communicate with phone failed I sent an email to A&J Sectional building to ask for another appointment ASAP.
28.5.2025. Not heard from the company, tied to called several times (no answer and no return calls) and eventually emailed them to ask for an update.
29.5.2025. Called again without success. 14:40 - received an email to say they are still sorting it out due to a large'backlog' (of something unspecified).
4.6.2025. 09:19. Text received offering another appointment 25.6.2025. (6 weeks after delivery) - with a threat that if I don't 'confirm' no one will turn up!
This is poor and inefficient service, especially it is something that can be sorted out easily. I will never use this company again, or let them come anywhere near my shed.

PS5 - Don't bother, unless Game changes.

1. Since last November, I only managed to get into a queue (for the PS5 Console) early enough twice. Both occasions, mny first clicked item was out of stock, so I went to the menu and picked another, that actioned provoked a 'too many clicks' or 'too many attempts' alert which prevented me from adding a machine to the empty basket! Most frustrating.
2. Just try buying a bare machine - which was out of stock the minute I clicked, why do I have to buy bundled T-shirts + other items that I don't want and at a high cost?
3. Would it not be fairer to let people buy advance orders, and let people have those machines according to order date/time chronologically? This will let Game check on bots, repeat orders or scalpers. Instead, they chose a first to get onto the internet priority, which is grossly unfair to ordinary shoppers. For instance, I would be happy if I pay for the machine, and get told that I am (as an example) the 988th customer, and the 988th machine Game receives from Sony is mine ... the current order system is ridiculous, and geared towards customers buying T-shirts and other extra items.

I was going round in circles ...

I attempted to activate my account online, but waited a long time for the activation email to come. When I followed the onscreen instructions for when the activation email fails to arrive - to email Hive with the provided email address, I had the following response:-

I was asked to go back online to sort it out myself ... good customer service? The real question I have is if their products are generating so many queries that overwhelmed their customer service team, are they good and reliable enough or easy enough to use? Or is their customer service department under-staffed?

First class mail order service

The goods were dispatched quickly, and arrived at our pick-up point within a couple of days. Upon receipt, the crockery were very well packed, there was no breakages, and the goods are as described.
All in, we are happy customers.

Inflexible

I ordered and paid for an item online for store pick up in the Asda Living in Walsall because there is a big difference in price. They have the item in stock, but won't let me pick it up one day earlier (the web site won't let me pick the same day). I was told that the stock they have in the store is not what I ordered - even though it is the same item. If I want the item earlier, I would have to pay the higher in store price or go back a day later and make another journey into town. I was served by one nameless colleague at the checkouts, and then (after I phoned Asda customer service line) by the store manager Mike Doidge who first told me I can, took me back into the store and then changed his mind at the checkouts. Shoppers beware - they are not flexible.
