I have a property that I've exclusively rented through HomeAway for over 6 years and their attitude towards the property owners in this time is disgusting. I'm taking a massive amount of cancellations which is understandable but are they giving any leeway to manage the return payments - no. They are recommending though that for guests who are not in the refund period we offer to move dates, if that's not satisfactory return 50% of the money if then they still push refund 100%. Most of aren't sitting with months of full refunds plus our empty running costs - property taxes, electricity etc. Now they've decided to move to an AirBnB model so they now get to sit on the money for months/years so I've had to turn off Instant book as I can't manage on bookings where I see no money from them for 6-9 months so I'll take my chances with later bookings. So it's guests first, close second HomeAway, property owners zero.
